  • Bonnie Raitt sits down with Zane Lowe for an in-depth conversation about her 35+ years in the music industry. Bonnie Raitt has been blending funk, blues, and soul into masterfully distinct albums for more than three decades, finding inspiration in musical theatre's storytelling, and folk's peaceful quality. Bonnie Raitt explains she has never been one to have her music defined by genre and feels this is particularly true in her album, ‘Just Like That. ’ The album follows Bonnie Raitt’s 2016 record, ‘Dig In Deep,’ and addresses addiction, loss, and resiliency in the particularly troubling times people have been living through. Bonnie explains that each album is like a postcard from an era in her life, and talks through new tracks like “Made Up Mind,” as well as classics like “Used to Rule the World,” and “Need You Tonight.” Listen to Bonnie Raitt on Apple Music: apple.co/BonnieRaittYT

Always nice to get to hear Bonnie, so much history, she's a smart woman, a great singer-musician-bandleader, activist, in tune with what's going on in the world, unpretentious, a friend to so many that were greats that are now gone and helping those musicians who because of their skin color ripped off by record companies, she's the real deal in her 6th decade, a treasure to see in concert..one of our greats, a living legend finally getting her dues! Zane Lowe is just awesome, what an interview!

Thank you Bonnie, been listening to you since college, I’m a few months older. It was a time of a lot of change and questions. I ended up being a nurse with sick cancer kids in Boston for almost 40 years and lucky enough to have some of our own. But I wanted to share that driving into work was always a transition to the person that could do that work, I always had to listen to music on the drive that fed my soul, listened to you a lot along with Ella and Louie and many others, you always rang true. So thank you for helping for years. Hope you realize what you give people.

Thank you for talking about this. I almost almost lost my son to an overdose. He came within a whisper of death, his face was blue and his lips were gray, I truly thought he was gone. I was SOOOO lucky and he was as well, and he went on to turn his life around thankfully. But it has changed my point of view probably forever. What of the mothers who weren't so lucky? You broke my heart by singing about this, and yet I'm glad to remember that moment where everything, everything hung in the balance, and hung on what was done in the next 30 seconds.

I am so glad that Zane is interviewing our icons and trailblazers, as well as the youth. Especially artists as precious to me as Bonnie Raitt. I'd love seeing more interviews with musicians who are continuing to produce music, despite the fact that they are ignored by most media outlets because they are older.

I’ve listened to this man interview people in the past, and I have to say he’s one of the best I’ve ever heard interview musicians. His sensitivity and ability to cozy up to not only the artist personally but they’re material and really feel and understand what they bring to the world is outstanding. Bravo! End of course the reason that I’m to this interview is I love Bonnie Raitt so much and have for about 50 years.

I have been listening to Bonnie since the mid-seventies. When I worked for Fisher Audio/Video in Chatsworth I sang one of Bonnie’s songs at the Christmas party winning first place - a VCR (when they were new and very expensive.) What mattered most was that I was six months sober then and facing big fear of singing in front of a large crowd. It was a huge sober moment. Thank you, Bonnie. 🙏💜 ps. 37+ years sober now and trudging the road…💜

She's a musical miracle....Meet her once on a rainy night in a neighborhood San Fransisco restaurant....She sat right next to me so I couldn't help but notice that her coat pocket kept moving around....Turns out she was hiding a tiny little Maltese pooch in that pocket.
