- A tribute to a beautiful film I have seen recently for the first time: Breezy, directed by Clint Eastwood and starring William Holden and Kay Lenz. I'm not a great fan of Eastwood usually , but this is a genuinely moving romance, told in an original way. The two leads are just perfect: I felt for them both all the way ! I mixed pictures from the movie and behind the scenes. The song is the theme composed by Michel Legrand, lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman and sung marvellously by Shelby Flint. Enjoy !
I don't think any man could have resisted Kay Lenz back in the day--OMG what a beautiful, sweet girl!!
I don't know, many men seem to like lips! 😂 besides she turned 30 on what 40yrs ago?! Men don't like women over 30....so.
This is a movie I could watch over and over. I grew up in this era in the So. California and I could have been Breezy. It was a great place back then.

One of my favourite movies. Beautifully directed. William Holden played this role superbly. Tastefully handled. William Holden always gave quality and strong performance s. Loved him!

@@AMEER-114- Clint Eastwood directed Breezy and probably AFTER he directed/filmed High Plains Drifter. Just because it was released 5 months after Breezy was filmed can only mean that HPD was filmed and in the production can by the time Clint was shooting Breezy.
1973 , when this came out, I was a free spirit. The man I was in love with took me to see this movie.
When this came out,I too was a free spirit,and MARRIED the older man who took me to see this movie! Now I'm in my 70's ..he is long gone,but oh my.. all the kids we had!! ..all generations number 30!!

My grandfather favorite actor. I never met him. Holden reminds me of him every time I watch him on screen.

I have always loved William Holden and in Breezy he plays such a vulnerable and sensitive character. Oh, and he looks rather fetching in an array of cardies too...Just love him❤
Class act Eastwood... I haven’t seen a bad movie that he had directed. 👌🏼

i watched this movie thinking it was going to be creepy but William Holden made this movie work, like he always made movies work... great movie.
Instead of being sleezy or pediphile..it was believable and so sweet!

well keep in mind guys that older man/younger woman relationships have been the norm for thousands of years on earth. only in modern america has it become taboo. because modern culture is artificial and fake and tries to control everything.

This is timeless, a May/December romance during the 'hippie/stage' of the Baby Boomer's generation...I knew a couple JUST like these two. I guess it's never too late if you will JUST believe in yourself and the power of LOVE...

Captures so well those two cultures- found myself mocking the hippie I once was.
This is one of my most fav movies. It NEVER PLAYS ANYWHERE THOUGH!!!! I’ll buy the DVD... William Holden is one of my favorite actors and Kay Lenz is just perfect here! I saw this first in the 70’s now I’m 65, n I need it more often!! Lol

Bill Holden was the Golden Boy. Despite hard living, you still see glimpses of it here.
Beautiful movie, Kay and William were perfect. Shocking that it wasn't a big hit and also shocking that Kay wasn't a much bigger star than she is.

This the only romance story I can suffer. Being 58 myself and a product of much older parents, frozen in time, I understand the cultural aspects of this story I can see how this could have happened then. This is among my all time favorites.
I love the movie. One of Holden's best performances and one of his bravest, given that he looked older than his 54 years, compared with Cary Grant or Burt Lancaster who looked younger when they were 54. Holden was an actor who was very self conscious; he had to get himself drunk just to dance on screen in "Picnic" because he thought he looked ridiculous. I can imagine that it was hard for him to do this role. Kay Lenz was only 19 in this movie, yet her performance was flawless; it was more assured than I would have expected from someone so young. There was never a moment that I caught her acting. And the writing; it's rare that a movie is so well written that you don't notice how well it was written. So much of so-called good writing is just the result of a script writer trying to come up with clever, quotable lines.

Im 51 and cant believe I never seen it before...
Even though Its been out there my whole life and Ive collected about THREE THOUSAND movies on vhs and dvd....
I saw this movie when it first came out when I was stationed at Subic Bay. I loved it then, and I love it still. This song is so emotional, and brings back great memories.
I love the look in William Holden's eyes as he looks at Breezy from the tree where he is standing in the last scene.
I never get tired listening to this song.. in the early morning after my morning prayer and before I sleep at night.. It makes my day and my life complete..
I love this movie… Brings back fond 4 years but ultimately sad memories at the same time. A lovely track as well which sadly you just can’t find a good high quality version. 👍🏼🙁😶
Kay Lenz aka Breezy can also be seen in the movie "Prisoners Of The Lost Universe" which also stars Richard Hatch. But Kay will ALWAYS IMO be best remembered as BREEZY!!!
Saw this for the first time on youtube a few weeks ago & just HAD to have it. Thanks to my country cousin (cos I don't shop on the internet) now I do, bless her heart. And I watched it for like the kazillionth time last night cos I'm so BREEZY over BREEZY. She's simply ADORABLE!!!!!
This is so emotional. It brings life into perspective. Sometimes you meet Mr. or Ms. Right Now, the person who you share a special timeless love that's destined to end long before your life does. If we could all be so lucky to find a Breezy of our own, that someone who opens the door of opportunity and slowly, brick by brick, dismantles the wall built with the scars around an often-broken heart.

Kay Lenz is a superb actress whom at this point was knocking on the door of super-stardom, but regrettably did not quite achieve that status.

An excellent tribute. Breezy is one of my favourite romantic movies. I think it is just as good as the other Eastwood film The Bridges Of Madison County.

No he wasn't seeing her yet. He was involved with my mother (Clint introduced them--she plays the saleswoman in the boutique.) After they broke up is when he and Stefanie got together. My mom and she were friends having worked on "Magnificent Seven" together.

"Drifter" was also Directed and produced by Eastwood who Directed "Breezy" so it's not hard to imagine that he used some of the marketing materials that were already available as set design props for "Breezy" which was filmed AFTER filming "Drifter" was completed.

Saw this not long after it was released. Kay Lenz was just lovely. A great film and golden age. This was a pretty magical time in California. There was optimism and good vibes generally. Life was good with excellent movies, music, affordable housing, great surf beaches, and high standard of living for the middle class. LA and SF were extremely cool cities. In the last quarter century in particular, things have dramatically deteriorated. Mass third world immigration, Chinese dumped Fentanyl, police defunding, permissive impalpable social policies and lack of appropriate facilities for the mentally ill have turned large tracts of California into a dystopian nightmare.😢😮
i recently remembered THIS MOVIE it was a great one!! I loved it! Great actors and director!! In general,I dont think they make very good movies anymore,so I love these older ones ;-) Happy to find this video!
I was 10 when I saw this. I don’t think I was supposed to see it though. Oooops! All I really remembered was the scene where Breezy is in bed waiting for Frank but he doesn’t know it. The next think you see is her hand going up his hairy chest. I was like, “WTF is going on?”. I think my parents were out that night. Too funny!

i think i'm a little in love with her now. i watched american graffiti just to try to spot her. i couldn't figure out who she was. i thought maybe she was that girl whatsherface gossips with in the restroom. when she speaks her second line coming out of the shadows......i said THAT'S HER! if you tell anybody i'll deny it!
