Love your videos. I'm planning my Camino Ingles with a bit of Norte thrown in. I did the Pilgrims Way...Winchester Cathedral to Canterbury Cathedral last year (about 150 miles) and its a route that's almost 1000 years old. I only met one other pilgrim on it...a beautiful peaceful walk and most of the ancient churches were open! You must try it. Anyway thanks for showing me the way from Canterbury to Dover...I am walking it next week to continue my journey and take the first stage on the Camino Ingles.

Nice, I need to learn how to use Google Earth like that for all my hikes

Aha, good use of tech. Isn't the actual route clearly marked with signposts and arrows?
Is there an app of the walking route that you can download to your phone?

hi Mark. the route is not well marked at all, nothing like the camino de Santiago. you can use the francigena app but I prefer goggle earth.

@@Walk_with_Efren ok, thanks. As I live in Madrid, I'll probably stick to the Caminos in Spain for now. Although, the section of the Camino Francés from Le Puy looks great.

I walked Via Francigena from Aosta to Rome and it is marked with different signs. Maybe Efren did not realize it. However, you can not compare it with French Camino (the spanish part, because in France, the signs are where needed and not excessive, for one reason: the pilgrim should be walking attentively, lot like a robot following signs. But, in Spain, in Camino del Norte, which starts from Hendaye (FR) and goes on through the north of Spain following Cantabric See - Mar Cantábrico - you also need to pay attention to the signs. The hospitalero at Güemes, generally answers all pilgrims that say it´s not well marked: "Forget that speedway of French Camino. Wherever needed , the signs will be there". And, that was true. I did not get lost, but I saw many pilgrims taking the wrong direction and instead of going to Olviedo (where they were meant to) they got to Gijon. However, the sign was there.
      2. The app for Via Francigena is free and works well. If you download the parts, it will work fine WITHOUT INTERNET. I saw many pilgrims using it, although they would prefer the 'guide book' of Via Francigena and only when in doubt, check the app.

Correction: in all countries of Schengen Area (which UK is not included) you have 90 days. It does not mean that you have 90 days in a whole, there is, you would be allowed 90 days in France e another 90 in Italy.

Mara: I was under the impression one has only 90 throughout Europe

Australia's currency isn't great in Europe but one benefit of our Aussie passport is that we have a bilateral agreement with a number of countries, including France and Italy, whereby an additional 60-90 days can be spent in those countries in addition to the Schengen visa 90 days. When I first investigated the Via Francigena in 2019 this was the case BUT Covid19 seems to have taken over the Embassy pages and it's hard to confirm at the moment.
