As someone who lives in Sacramento, this was the absolutely last news I expected. The A's are coming to Sacramento for the next few years. I'm just in shock right now. The city of Oakland doesn't deserve this at all
Oakland is not a big city and they can’t make anything happen without Alameda County. Oakland always punched above its weight with the Warriors, A’s and Raiders. Two teams were bound to bolt.
@@Dweller415 Oakland is just the name they use, but most fans are outside of the city. It's another weird idiocyncracy of Bay Area geography. There are just too many municipalities functioning as separate entities, when in reality, they should all be one, similar to how NYC is all one big city, but with separate boroughs.
This is sad. I remember being a kid in Ohio in the late 80’s. The A’s popularity took over back then. Every kid wanted the Jose Canseco rated rookie card, and also loved when the A’s came to town to play the Indians. We all mimicked the bash brothers whenever we could. Sad to see this happening to Oakland.
Rob Manfred not only didn't try to keep the A's in Oakland, he actually waived the relocation fee for them to move to Las Vegas (eventually). MLB just wanted a team in the Vegas market and the A's were the perfect team to entice. Sad for their fans though. We Pirates fans know how it feels to root for a team with cheap ownership. If the great PNC Park hadn't been built in 2001, our team would likely be leaving as well.
For many East Bay fans (along the Hwy 24, I-680, and Hwy 4 corridors), it's actually not that much farther to attend a game in West Sacramento vs the Oakland Coliseum.
I felt the same Anaheim lost the Rams to St. Louis in 1995. I never watched an NFL game for 21 years. Everyone is to blame, the owner and most of all Oakland. It’s unsafe, and a horror.
Put a retractable roof on the stadium, convert it into transitional housing as well as affordable housing. The facility has numerous kitchens, bathrooms, and private boxes - all suitable for immediate use. Ample sewer, water, and electrical infrastructure is already there. The spectator seating areas can be reconstructed into stacked housing units that are made from re-purposed shipping containers. The field can be made into a park. Tens of thousands of jobs can be created. The Build-Back-Better program created by President Biden and Kamala Harris has the money to make this a reality. Let's have a POSITIVE vision: Vote for Kamala Harris - let's move America forward and strengthen the Middle Class and urban core.
Who do you think is to blame when you lost the Seals, Raiders, Warriors and now, the Athletics? You have a city that does not want to play ball with billionaire owners.
This loyal OAKLAND fan will not support Sacramento A’s team. Done with MLB. Oakland legacy will be remembered in history. Will not support Sacramento A’s team.
MLB should be ashamed of themselves tho it's a business and in reality the public officials in Oakland ruined that franchise as well. Lastly being a king's fan and what we went thru to keep the kings the owner vivik or however you spell his name should be ashamed of himself too knowing what our city went thru to just welcoming a departure of Oakland
Blaming only Fisher is a cop out you need to blame the city for letting itself become a dangerous open air homeless drug den. I grew up in Oakland btw so you cant BS me that its not a bad place.
My first baseball game was an As game . Even though I’m a Giants fan this hurts to see . No more battle of the bay 😢

Meh, they kinda do.
@@VODZ You think so

I love the giants but I'm sad 😓😓😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Thanky for the memories.
And we are ready to say goodbye to the MLB... No more baseball will ever be watched.
Oakland Baller's is the new team in town.
Thank God! Oakland is a hell hole. Been there for a few days back in 2002, was a POS then.
2002 was a great year Raiders went to the superbowl, Athletics was filling the stadium
2002 was 22 years ago
Very nice video.

Hard to believe ,and I'm not even a fan, or live in Oakland, but I wish this weren't happening to those poor fans.

City leadership trash
John Fisher was going to move the team, regardless
The Raiders couldn't make up their minds with this city, Warriors left, As left, Oakland is just in a word a DUMP.
Oakland's loss is Sacramento's gain. Life goes on.
Enjoy the traffic. Sacramento never gets it right.
It’s temporary. Sacramento is lame af.
Oakland is a ghetto.
@@fatbart8551 Not really. I live in Sacramento. I think Sacramento is great. I'm still surprised that the A's are really leaving Oakland

Now Oakland will feel the same feeling that happened to Kansas City and Philadelphia. Onto the next destination.
Except Philly ALREADY had the Phillies and the Royals came to KC a year afterwards.
@@bigrighthook61072 years later, the A's left Kansas City in 1967 Royals didn't start up until 1969

Yes….

Yikes. Not the right words by the anchor.

You don’t need to do “team coverage”. It’s Oakland not Sacramento.
Vegas should’ve built a stadium for the A’s 😂😂😂
