How wonderful to again see the Vienna model 6-valve F tuba. The one I had in Montreal was an absolutely splendid instrument -- perfectly balanced, great tone, uniform in all registers. When I left Montreal after a career of some 2,000 performances I gave it to a colleague in a great orchestra, but later heard he did not cope with the instrument, could not see it's great value, and attempted to have it concerted to a right-hand drive -- destroyed it, sold it. The technic is called circular breathing. You breath in through your nose and push air out with your mouth at the same time thats why he makes his cheeks round during playing , because the cheek muscles are used to push the air out.
Hi Oscar! It's called the Viennese System. On the left side are the "normal" three valves. On the right side is a longer 1 1/2 tone valve, a longer 1/2 tone valve and a 2 1/2 tone valve.
What kind of horn is that? I've never seen a dual 3 valved tuba before. Is it F or Eb? And now i want to see where someone can get something like that. Edit: as a side note i like how he's utilizing the extra valves to rearticulate the same note. That's a neat trick.

I bought an Alexander F that was a converted Viennese model from The Baltimore Brass about 7 years ago. Might it be the same one?

I think it’s a Miraphone Elektra F tuba. Never seen it in 3+3 valve config though
