That must have been the professor on the organ. My goodness, the perfection in her notes and clarity in the pitch and the ramblin Rose Organist. Great musician she is.😊
When you practice with a metronome and your accompaniment just has no clue of consistent tempo... Some of those scales in the organ sounded like they were rolling their face on the keyboard...
I've got a "folkstring" instrument ear; glad to hear I wasn't the only listener wondering what the sam hill the organist was doing. Thought well, maybe I been away from a metronome for a while and the player surely knows what's what...
The organist should really practice with a metronome and know the delay of the organ's touch to sound. There are sometimes not enough hours in the week, but for something like this, I'd prepare a month in advance.
hahahhaa. We'll hire a world renown trumpet soloist and then uh.... yeah the local anglican church organist to play accompaniment should do. How hard can just the background be??
Not at her best? Have you played this beast? It is awesome hard! She has a great sound, intonation and pitch while playing really fast on a very difficult horn! C'mon!
"not at her best means" simply, that she can play it way better than here. still, she plays even on this record much better than the average trumpeters
What a bizarre way to play the organ. Usually people play with their fingers and feet, not their fists and boots mashing as many keys as possible. Kudos to Alison for somehow saving this.
@@slasherman03 I do not play the organ, but like any rational musician I can tell when someone is clearly not fit to accompany a trumpeter as talented as Alison.
Perfect sound! wonderful! What a nice music! her rich music makes me happy. I love her trumpet sound. She is the NO.1woman solo trumpet player in the world.
Bravo! In these dark times one has aprieciate beauty where ever and when ever one finds it. That 2.5 minutes just brightened my week immeasurably! Thank you.
Arranged by Bach for a harpsichord or organ about Concertos or Trio Sonatas that works of the Vivaldi or Marcello and other same era Italian composers. I don't understand why this version of today's modern trumpet arrangement is introduced as Bach's arrangement, although the BWV 972 that arranged by Bach from Vivaldi's violin concerto No. 9 in D major, RV 230 - Op.3, is only for "harpsichord solo"

Still Bill This comment could be construed as kind of creepy for a lot of reasons, but picking on a another art form because you have only ever studied old white men in your life(no hate, I too am studying old white men at a conservatory) is just ignorant and makes you sound stupid. You sound like the classical musicians who believe that jazz is an “inferior art form” because it goes against everything that classical musicians are trained to do. Just because people practice different styles than you(that’s right, believe it or not, it takes a lot of practice and dedication to your art to be like Wu Tang Clan) doesn’t make them any less than an art that you practice, and it certainly doesn’t give you the right to use it as a point of comparison as to why this particular soloist is superior to all other musical art forms that you don’t respect.

If it is possible to witness this performance and not fall in love with Baroque music (not to mention the performer), it must only be so for the blind and hearing impaired.
I enjoy her performances. All I can find on-line by her seem to be the OLD stand-bys like the Hayden Trumpet concerto, lots of renaissance works etc. Does she perform any more "contemporary" pieces such any of the Fischer Tull works etc? I can "hum" the Haydn from memory...... Da..de.da.....dedadadadada... de.da.da.da.da....dadada.da. da.da.da........etc.
Bear in mind this is supposed to be played on the natural trumpet. The little trumpet is a help in some ways as you have valves for the fiddly bits and the upper notes are a bit more accessible but the downside of the little trumpet sound is somewhat exposed in this recording. Swathed in a sweltering academic gown just to make her more comfortable.
she is insanely good, anyone who has or does play trumpet knows the tension required to play this..and knows they wouldnt have it. Superb and accidently she is quite beautiful......I would be happy to play a duet.....and i might bring me trumpet he he.
this is probably a quick gig, the organist is seriouly lousy, perharps didnt know the organ well, delays, wrong notes...I think alison is doing a great job to accompany that organist. Also piccolo trumpets doesnt always have a great polished sound. its not always what a recording sound like.
Interesting - in this ambient room sound audio recording the tone sounds a lot more like what my rotary picc sounds like than her studio recordings so maybe I'm doing better than I thought.
An amazing trumpet soloist! Be considerate of the organist (unless you are better and got turned down for the gig) but the outright disdain of the stuffy old academics to the left is inexcusable.
Lee Hector Academics. Education is merely an industry. Learning is different...... The great violinist Ivry Gitlis says that everyone has potential until they are ruined by education
I love the way she practically dances through the performance. it is real to her.

This an extraordinary piece, especially as she is performing with a Piccolo Trumpet. Marvellous
That must have been the professor on the organ. My goodness, the perfection in her notes and clarity in the pitch and the ramblin Rose Organist. Great musician she is.😊
A virtuosal piece, especially for a trumpet. Almost unbelievable that she played it flawlessly with a trumpet!
I came down to the comments to see if anyone else noticed the organist. You all did not disappoint.
C'est surtout le mixage qui est déséquilibré, on entend trop l'orgue
When you practice with a metronome and your accompaniment just has no clue of consistent tempo...

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I was thinking the organ sounded like soup, but am not enough of a musician to be sure.
Oh thank god I wasnt the only one who noticed.

I think part of it has to do with the organ itself, I have heard that the organ is so dreadful to play.
Her triple tongue is incredible. And her slurring from one to next is crazy. She's amazing
Totally agree
Alison =Stunningly great! 😊
Organist = ⁉️😕
I believe this organist actually achieved the unachievable feat of playing FLAT!
I guess they didn’t post the movement where Alison throws her trumpet at the dreadful organist
Did his best bless him. Pretty daunting
Was it real? Alison throwing her trumpet at the organist?! 😱

I've watched this many times. A little "out of breath" sometimes, but still stellar performance.
this is Vivaldi, it is not Bach (arranged by Bach after Vivaldi)
Very beautiful performance. One small correction, concerto not by JS Bach but by it was composed by Antonio Vivaldi. It was transcribed by JS Bach
Yes, these concertos are often called Vivaldi-Bach in English.
Even with a terrible organist she still delivers music...
