They are both good shows the difference here is that Ollie and Scoops have 5 episodes while Hazbin Hotel has just the pilot. As most people know pilots are to show off and introduce the show (ex Steven Universe pilot was an interesting way to show off the characters) I’m just saying if this was meant as a joke sorry. I just hope people stop giving Hazbin Hotel a lot of hate. When we only have the pilot to go on.

I do genuinely feel bad for Julia though. She clearly pushes herself too hard, and something’s driving her perfectionist complex off the rails. Whether others have high expectations of her or she’s setting unreasonable standards for herself, it’s really sad to see someone obsessed with their image to the point of madness. Or maybe I’m just looking too far into it. It is a cartoon, after all

@loveduringketchup you mean, it's Kimmy Robertson who plays Lucy in Twin Peaks. But yeah, it's her. She manages give Ollie a ray of sunshine-type personality when she voices her, like she does with most of her characters.
Ever since that joke where we see her lose more and more hair each month, I couldn’t keep my eyes off the top of Julia’s head. 😂😂

Yeah, that’s what bugs me about this episode. But at least she got the psychological torture of having to work with Ollie and Scoops

I know were supposed to dislike the antagonist... but I genuinely dislike her as a character as well. You can have a villian be a threat to the protagonist _while_ being an interesting, developed character, but she is just so... one-dimensional.
I like her character, she’s one of those kids who are pressured to be the best, and can’t accept mediocrity. I can kind of relate to that.
@@flapjack0925 I wouldnt have even known she was pressured for the series gives _no_ depth to her character. I do hope they expand upon her in future episodes

I really like this show because of how it subverts the "mean girl rival". In just about every other cartoon I've seen, Ollie & Scoops would be the ones getting punished by Julia & the school just because. But here, everyone knows that Julia is crazy and they don't approve of her nutty behavior. Still, it brings back the status quo and adds character development between her and Ollie which is so cool.
I love this show and wish more people knew about it! You're all such amazing people for working on this show 👍

Nah, she's alright. In fact in a later episode they show an actual crazy cat... gentleman? xD which is a refreshing spin on the trope. Ollie is framed as a well-balanced cat lover.

Julia is starting to become my favorite character
She’s crazy, I love her design it’s so unique, and she isn’t so mean like I thought she would be. And she’s also funny

This art style is so... nice. Like, I generally dislike art styles that navigate toward Ren and Stimpy territory or look disgusting on purpose, but this one is out there and silly and unique while still being super, super appealing to the eyes. What an awesome show.

Dang, I only just found this. You got some really good voice actors/actresses in this. Was shocked to be hearing Grey (DeLise) Griffin since it was eerily similar to Vicky from Fairly Odd Parents.
It has a "ren and stimpy" vibe to it minus the disturbing animation its more kind hearted

I'm more than halfway done with my binge of the show. So far, "Student of the Month" is the episode that made me laugh the... *second* most! "Vinnie Video", which I watched before my binge, is still the episode that made me laugh the most. 😂

What a great episode! So many background details in the posters. I love the artstyle of the series... clean thin line-art, and lots of exaggerated poses. Great BG music/sfx work and voice work. The plot always goes places I don't expect... it's like Ren and Stimpy but not as grotesque, but just as off-the-wall. I love it.
RUclips Kids is claiming anything remotely resembling "child friendliness". That means no ad revenue and removed playlist availability. I hope that this remains safe from their clutches.

What a fab way to end the year! I love the background jokes in the episodes especially around 10:31 . I have noticed an error where Scoops rolls behind a foreground layer at 9:17 . I wish you and the team to have a wonderful new year!
Oh my god, Principal J. Liquids = John Waters. He even has a pink flamingo tie.
Some other John Waters things I noticed:
Principal Liquids line to Julia about "two kinds of people" is a reference to a line delivered by Mink Stole in Pink Flamingos.
On the wall near the door, Principal Liquids has a poster for Mrs. Milstead, a reference to Glenn Milstead aka Divine.
