Emmie, I'm 20 and due to mental illness I had to drop out of education at age 14. Your channel has inspired me, I am now working towards a place at a university to study English! Thank you so much for all you do. I missed feeling wonder towards education, and being absorbed in the world of literature. Love from the UK, Anwen x
THATS INCREDIBLE I hope it’ll go well. Either way do this process is so amazing. I hope you’re proud at urself . Have a wonderful day. I rlly hope it’ll all turn out for the best
As someone who also had to drop education at a young age due to mental health and just graduated high school last month at 21, I am *so* proud of you for continuing to work towards your goals, and I believe you can do it! It's a wonderful feeling to enjoy learning again and to just overall find fun in things that you once loved. Wishing you all the best in recovery and success. You should be really proud of your accomplishments so far!
The way how you get excited about even the littlest things is very nice to see. You are like a ball of sunshine who's light can shine others' life and I love you so so so much for that.
I'm in love with your raw emotion. As someone who sheds tears when it rains in the desert bc I can't get enough, who's heart breaks when I can't be outside on a perfect puffy partly cloudy day or if I miss a rainbow 🌈, I feel you girl....I feel you. The beauty of the world and when it is reflected in the hearts of others to be witnessed is among the most unique of moments, that may never come again. Your reaction to snow and gifts, I can't, omg. The joy is overwhelming. What a beautiful soul you are.
It’s actually ridiculously endearing that the BIGGEST update you wanted to share with us all is the fact it snowed where you are 😅 (Also, fun fact, Talia Hibbert and I share the same uni and creative writing tutor!)
watching your unfiltered happiness when it snowed and the interactions with the squirrel and the dog makes me so happy. it makes me want to just venture out and just scream with joy.
Oh my emmie these frequent uploads are really such a treat! I was just rewatching an old book haul of yours when this notification popped up! ✨ definitely living vicariously through these videos bc we don’t get snow here (or winter for that matter) her in Singapore :(
Emma, I was crying with you as you were unwrapping Tanya’s gift! That was truly one of the most beautiful and heartwarming moments I’ve ever witnessed. Seeing your love and appreciation filled my heart with so much joy🥰🥺
Your reaction to snow is my reaction to the first cicada I hear. It's my official sign that summer (my favourite season) has begun. I just heard mine a week or so ago. I literally stop in my tracks, whatever I'm doing, and just listen for as long as I can.
you know what would be an AWESOME ASMR video you could make? Just the constant sound of the snow falling and making tiny sweet sounds when it touches your camera/phone. It would be SO dreamy.
this video made me so unbelievably happy. the joy that radiated from you from the snow and the phantom blanket made me so so excited for snow of my own! I also just bought tickets to see phantom in new york in February and so everything phantom makes me so happy. Thank you for sharing these cozy, joyous moments with us. 🌨🖤
I found your channel this weekend and you make me want to curl up with a poetry book under a cozy blanket while rain plays in the background and candles flicker around me ❤❤❤
I highly recommend watching the Outlander series! My parents and I burned through all the seasons last winter and it was so good. Also I love how often you feature squirrels in your videos - a true squirrel whisperer haha
I totally have the exact same reaction as you to snow! It is easily one of the best things in the world! Also - speaking of playlists, would you ever consider sharing your Spotify (or whatever service you have?) I'd love to hear your curated playlists! 💜
Stefan Zweig is a spectacular author, he's one of the few male authors that can actually write a woman and make it feel real.I absolutely adore him, chess is probably his most well-known one, but he has so much more to offer like a an unknown woman's letter or 24 hours from a woman's life, fear is really good as well. Hopefully you enjoy him as well. Have a lovely day ❤️ love your videos
I’m from South India and we don’t get snow here, but this vlog brought me such joy! And so much was conveyed in those bits without dialogue! Thanks for sharing your first snow this year ❤️
November is such an odd month, I get you on that impacting your reading. Like, the first half is covered in Halloween residue and apple cider, then the vibes get muddled with families gathering and cooling weather (also people wanting to skip right to Christmas). It's the point where Halloween and Fall blend into Winter and Christmas. Creates that shift in interest as well...
Oh my god, I'm from austria too and I got flashbacks to High school when I saw that Schachnovelle book. I feel like every Austrian student had to go through the joy (or pain) of reading this. But it is such a good and impactful book.
Falls es dir gefallen hat musst du dir unbedingt die neue Verfilmung anschauen die jetzt ins Kino gekommen ist, ein unglaublich packender Film! (also... wenn man wieder ins Kino gehen kann versteht sich lol)
26:48 OMG! I’m sooooo happy that you love them!!!! It’s Kristen by the way. This is my booktube name. I appreciate you so much and your in depth analysis of books!!! 😩🥳😝🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 I’m so so grateful
I have the exact same reaction to snow! It's so lovely to see you so excited and happy, and even though I'm still awaiting my first snow this year, it made my as glad as if it was me looking out of my window, into my yard smudged in white.
your videos are truly my comfort place on the internet. the clips of you appreciating the snow in front of your window with coffee made me so unbelievably happy. you constantly make me excited about life!!
The level of unadulterated excitement you have for snow is wonderful! ❄️ I can’t believe that amazing Phantom edition, I cried when you opened it because it’s so perfect for you! 😭 I absolutely love it! 😍 Novel Wicks is a bookish candle etsy shop that based in the US and ships to Canada and the US 👍
This was one of my favorite videos ever. The snow, the gift, the reading updates. Everything. Thank you for what you do Emmie. I keep meaning to send you a letter and this was my reminder.
The song you had playing while it was snowing reminded of the quote "there is a wilderness we walk alone, however well-companioned." I really loved how cozy and magical this vlog was ✨
I really love your videos. They are so enjoyable and inspiring. I just wanna read something, whatever, just by watching how enthusiastic you look explaining em.
So happy you liked Snow and Rose! I put off reading it for a while because I had lost my dad in 2019 and I knew in the book that they lost theirs temporarily and I knew it would break me. But I'm so happy I read it eventually because I think it helped me work through some things. Sending you love and I hope your enjoying your snowy day💙 -Jordan
"The line between autumn and winter"❤️What can I say about Phantom Of The Opera, but that it had many brilliant moments and one outstanding sequence where the imagery and descriptive force of the writing simply blew me away.Wonderful vlog Emma!Never doubt but I will be always watching from Box Five!❤️
What a rollercoaster ride this was. Haha I laughed. I cried. So good. I received the Augmented Classics Phantom and have read your beautiful foreword! I enjoyed it so much and am looking forward to reading this classic for the first time.
Deathly Hallows Triangle Hat, The Mandalorian T-Shirt, nice. Thank you for your posts. Just the suggestion of seeing you drink coffee made me want one too.
I just finished "The Secret of Snow" by Viola Shipman. It was a so nice. I will read any of his books. ( He writes under his grandmother's name as a tribute.)
Emma, your vlogs always bring me joy and peace. You certainly deserves all the beautiful gifts in the world! I highly recommmend Chess, by Stefan Zweig, it's great . I add Snow and Rose to my wishlist. Waiting for your opinion about For the wolf. 😘💖✨
The snow makes me want to move to Canada/ the Northern Hemisphere and experience a winters Christmas so bad! We are moving into summer Down Under, but I just want cozy nights by the fire, reading a good book!
Too bad the snow's gone already 😂 I always think of this one panel in an Asterix book with the silhouettes of two druids standing in the rain, and one of them's saying "weather's all topsy-turvy these days"
We are just 1k short from 200k subs. Eagerly waiting for the bloopers video similar to the one you did when you hit 100k subs. It's my favorite video on the channel and has helped me to calm my anxiety countless times.
Hi Emma, Sorry it wouldn't let me include a note for The Changling, I read it a few years ago and I kept thinking you would like it, it's cozy, disturbing, magical, I saw it compared to Murakami in one review, I've only read After Dark so I can't say if I think that's accurate or not. But I really enjoyed it, even though the ending felt a bit flat, the rest of the book made it a worthwhile read for me. Ah I just love you! You are the sweetest person ever! 💕 Wow I can't believe I'm tearing up from seeing you so happy with the gift at 24:40 I mean this was not from me but seeing you so happy made me tear up!
At this moment I'm at a coffee place that sells books, I paused your video to look at the books and I just had to take The Prophet with me because of your recommendation in other videos, also took Letters to a young poet, which I've read and loved so much. ❤

Emma, I just want to say thank you for your videos. They always make me feel so relaxed, and they inspire me to read. Also, you’re so pretty; you remind me of Marianne Sheridan from Normal People the show. (I have yet to read the book.)

I'm excited to hear your thoughts on Chess! I'm German and it's strange to me that people don't translate it literally from Schachnovelle to Chess Novella, but anyway. This was one of the favourite books of an incredible intelligent German teacher I had in secondary school. I think you'll love it :)
PS: There are two 'ch' sounds in German: in ach, uch, och, they're pronounced similarly to how you've pronounced the 'ch' in this video, and in ech, ich, äch, üch, öch, they're pronounced softly. This soft ch is actually a sound we also have in English: if you very slowly pronounce 'cute', there's a sound between the k-sound and the u. That's the one!
Hope you have a lovely week, Emma :)
Finally someone showing reading something. 🤣, and not just staking up.
