Emma, i love to walk with you on these beautiful parks of Canada! It's like entering in a magic world! Oh, and Angela Carter & Agatha Christie are perfect for this month! Have a lovely weekend! 🧚🌷🦋🍁✨
I'm so glad you're reading The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd, it has one of the most phenomenal endings. I don't know if "controversial" is the right way to describe it but it certainly crosses a lot of boundaries that twist endings usually have. But as always, Christie writes it so that everything makes perfect sense in the end.
the beginning made me cry???? you make me feel not lonely like whenever i need you’re going to be here like we were friends and that beginning just felt like a huge hug so i guess i got a little overwhelmed (im very emotionally unstable rn if you couldn’t see lol) i just cant put into words how grateful i am that i came across this channel
I'm so happy you love Nevernight!! I feel like I'm super alone in this camp and it's awesome to see someone else on booktube who appreciates it for what it is :)
Oh my god i just found your channel and i've been lost in it since this morning. I am so happy i found it :) it really is what i needed this week :) thank you xx (ps: funny coincidence since i am currently reading court of mist and fury haha)
Your videos literally always brightens my day - even if its pitch black 12:40 am here! Currently reading Railsea by China Mieville and Smashed by Junji Ito which i think is mandatory for spooky season!
for some reason you remind me of dakota johnson 🥺🤍 i cant believe i’ve never seen anyone comment that in here before!! ur energy, ur voice, everything AAAA
I love these refreshing montages of your walks💚 reminds me so much of the scenery back home! Would love "come on a walk with me" Or "explore the woods with me" Video in the future Emma! 🧚♀️ 🌲🌳🌴🕯
Not a Myth, by Molly Likovich (pronounced La-co-vich) and Marcia Ruiz. A fully illustrated poetry collection chronicling a journey through a fictional enchanted forest. Available on Amazon.
You really did just perfectly put into words what my issue with the Maidens was. I got through it in like 3 days and that’s SO fast for me but I did not like it and couldn’t figure out why 😭😂
Hope yr classes/studying is going well. I so appreciate having a virtual book lover friend. I have so enjoyed yr recommendations. Small blessings and BIG BOOKS. (Rather BIG GOOD BOOKS) Lol.📚
7:21 Please Read Tokyo Zodiac Murders if you love to figure out the ending of a crime novel. This books challenges you to do it. There is a note in middle of the book that asks you to solve the mystery if you can after giving you all the hints that are needed to solve the crime. 17:35 I would recommend you to read the book. Movie didn't really work for me. But book was a good read.
Angela Carter is the best! I'm afraid of the moment when I read all of her books and loose the novelty of her creations, so I'm just mostly rereading the ones I've read.
hi emma 🥺 just wanted to let you know that your videos gives me sooo much comfort especially since i'm in uni rn and i can't read as much as i used to bcs of assignments😭😭 seeing you so happy with your tbr makes me happy as well.much love from malaysia 💞🙆🏻♀️
I’m reading A Dowry of Blood rn and I can’t recommend it enough!! I could have read it in a day but I just want to savour it forever!! The writing is absolutely stunning~
Melancholy mermaids, maidens, mushrooms,Emmazing!!!❤️When you get to the part in Nicholas Nickelby where Dickens describes the abode of Arthur Gride, sheer Gothic!❤️
I absolutely fell in love with Carter's The Company Of Wolves from The Bloody Chamber when I had to read it for a lit course. I reread it every now and then cuz it's so eerie and fairytale-like. I plan to read it during October cuz of the spooky vibes💕
Hi Emmie, thank you for the cozy video 🧡I would like to recommend to you Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, a superb atmospheric gothic tale with excellent writing which enables you to visualise everything written 🥰
i can't wait to see your agatha christie video because i've never read any of her books but have been thinking of getting into it, i think i just need a bit more of a push to pick it up. my current read is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime
The way you describe books is slowly scooping me out of my university induced reading slump. P.S.: I'm starting to thing Canada is a fantasy wonderland which further proves that it's not real.
I really enjoyed The Devil All The Time - I haven't seen the film but I listened to the audiobook and it had really interesting characters, shocking details and great build up of tension. I would definitely recommend!
For the most part people who loved The Silent Patient despised The Maidens. And vice versa. I'm one of those people who loved The Maidens with all its flaws, it was a delight.

I haven't read Nevernight but from the way you described it, it reminds me a lot of the Book of the Ancestor trilogy by Mark Lawrence! It's about a school where girls are taught by nuns the arts of magic, combat and lots of other interesting stuff :))
I really feel safe and seen around your channel and specifically how diverse your taste is when it comes to books and literature 🤎🤎🤎🥺 I aspire to be you 🥺 P.s- definitely read The devil all the time book, it was absolute grotesque and horror!
Hi emma! I can't tell you the exact name of the fungi, but the ones that are mushroom shaped (with a little stem and a pileus, the top part) and the ones that look like a wood ear are called basidiomycetes because they are from the phylum Basidiomycota!
Nevernight is one of favorite fantasy trilogies. J. Kristoff's writing is addicting. I'm currently reading Empire of the Vampire and it is so good! I really enjoy your channel. You have introduced me to new authors. A Court of Mist & Fury is the best! I enjoyed The Ghost Bride, hope you do too. Happy reading!
I read and owned The Bloody Chamber for an assignment in a first year creative writing class that I took and I didn't fully appreciate it back then and sold my copy! :( But now I am seeing that I would probably really like it and am feeling regret.
my spooky season is very much dead by now, but i recently finished reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelley for the first time and i loved it so much. currently trying to read Orlando by Virginia Woolf. I love your vlogs, loved the parts where you walk in the woods and show us little mushrooms

Not that I need them since my bookshelves doth overfloweth, but thank you so much for your eclectic recommendations. Often I find popular YA are the go-to recommended books, and sometimes they should be, but thanks to you, I've picked up Castle of Otranto, which I had never heard of before ( and I'm freakin' 31) and I'm super excited to read it. P.S. As a biology major, I thoroughly appreciate your showcasing of 'shrooms, though I cannot say I can identify them, but learning how to identify mushrooms is high up on my never-ending list of things I want to learn. Thanks for being a cool-ass broad ^_^
I'm reading The October Country! So uncomfy, but in a good way, perfect for this month. I really wanna know if you end up liking the Ocampo book, I've never read her and she's from my country, so maybe I should give her books a try. Definitely going to add Carter's collection to my TBR!
I picked up 'let the right one in' by John Ajvide Lindqvist for spooky season, really liking it so far, some weird, creepy things going on in a very gray and gloomy atmosphere. And John definitely doesn't seem to shy away from telling you the gory, yucky stuff that you just don't wanna know, but you wanna know 😉
Love seeing your videos currently have corona and I’m having to isolate reading and watching videos about videos has been my escape thanks also just wanted to recommend a book I finished like an hour ago called the hunting party supper amazing murder mystery 10/10 five star rating

So relaxing at the start!
Watching this after an awful dental surgery and this is making me feel so much better
Curious, how do footnotes work on audio? 😮
the narrator will just read them after the sentence they're attached to, it flowed really nicely actually!
I picked up 'let the right one in' by John Ajvide Lindqvist for spooky season, really liking it so far, some weird, creepy things going on in a very gray and gloomy atmosphere.
