This is one of my favorite MS. Paptimus Scirocco was a great character. Captain of a huge interplanetary ship and all he does is design and build his own custom mobile suits which are superior to anything the Federation, AEUG, Zeon or even Anaheim Electronic can come up with. He even had female characters falling for him and even betraying their friends and switching sides. Too bad he had to be a villain and die.
The design team really went above and beyond when it came to the unit designs for Zeta. The Messala is a prime example, despite being the first transforming unit we see it still has a nice design even in mobile armor mode.
to this day i still chuckle that in build divers re:rise some absolute madlad looked at this kit and thought you know what it needs gn drives replacing the thrusters on the booster pods

isn't the messala that jabby got already painted when he received it from the mail? that might be the reason why the one he reviewed has ridiculously tight hip joints yeah I don't like reviews of kits that have already been customized/painted. kits should only be reviewed when built straight from the box without alterations to it so the audience who want the kit would actually know what to expect when they actually buy it
@@fernan-dog3533 actually a transformable MA, like the Gaplant, Psychi Gundam, it alway launch in Ma mode then transform, unlike transformable MS like the Methuss and the Zeta which launch in MS mode then transform
Whenever I see this design, I always remember the custom colored kit of it that was sent to JobbytheHong's PO Box. The colors for that really made the suit stand out.
Built this kit a while back and everything is surprisingly smooth and the best thing about this is that it can stand on its own even with the huge boosters on the back. I could appreciate this kit more if i had seen Zeta though, but overall, it's a very good kit :D

The narrow neck on BA4A-5 snapped on me, the part of the stand head close to the adapter that slots into the mech. It might be a combination of the plastic not setting right and the fact the Messala is 3 times the size of normal HGs the stand was designed for. Should have been obvious, all the mass and volume was bound to break the neck that's barely 0.6cm x 0.2cm in size.
@@gearthehuman2115 before Reccoa got the palace Athene she used the Messala. It was damaged in ep 40 when a colony was gassed and ceased by the Titans in order to convert it into the colony laser.
I'm still waiting on this MS getting into GBO2 since there's not many Zeta MS missing from the game. All that's left is the Messala & Baund Doc. The-O & Byarlant got leaked and the Psycho 2 is the current BOSS.
If you could make a mobile suit containing one component each of your favorite suits of the RGM family, such as thrusters, weapons, armor and such, what components from said suits would you use and what would you call the suit itself?
So question to myself is.... Why should I not buy two? Because if I can get my hands on two of these, one will be humanoid form and the other would be in flight/armor mode.

Messala deserves a Master Grade. Loved how it was first introduced in Zeta Gundam

I think the Asshimar is the first unit that transforms on screen actually. The Messala is definitely cooler than ol' flying donut though

5:26 if you have the adapter facing backwards, you can plug the Messala onto the base without worrying about it falling over.

I'm surprised the USUALLY bulky Zaku III didn't try to kill the Messala like it did with the Sazabi.
Built this kit a while back and everything is surprisingly smooth and the best thing about this is that it can stand on its own even with the huge boosters on the back. I could appreciate this kit more if i had seen Zeta though, but overall, it's a very good kit :D

In Zeta Gundam, does the Messala actually get destroyed or does it just end up getting parked in favor of newer machines?
It isn’t destroyed it just doesn’t have a pilot for the final battle so isn’t used... shame

if they made a smaller scale in the gundam universe and mass produce it, its a nice aerial combat mass production type, plus the gerwalk mode... :D

It was damaged in one of it's fights against the Zeta while Reccoa was piloting it. Reccoa would go on to just swap to the Palace Athene.
