It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
5 STARS for allowing us to hear the tools instead of annoying music. Such a beautiful finished project. Kudos to you Jon Peters
Great build Jon, Thanks for taking us along.
I like his attention to detail. My type of guy. He cleans up as he goes.
The trick with the square and tape was clever, I will use that one myself.
Thanks...glad it helps
Definitely, my square has sharpie marks all over it. Never thought of the tape before. What a great idea

You do great work Jon, I can hardly wait to come over for STEAK AND BAKED TATER's. Here in the south this is too a word.
God Bless my friend.
Thanks Frank.
It's amazing how easy he makes this look!
There is something about your quiet, still and measured perfectionism in the way you work that has me mesmerised every time. The absence of your voice over (not that I don't like listening to you) added so much depth to this how-to video. Great work mate.
Thanks Marty

This guy is legit precise and clean.
Smallest deck I have ever seen, but still glorious.
I bet it's nice being able to dig soil all uniform and easy like that. Here in Missouri as soon as you put your shovel in you hit rock... lots of rock.
Ryan Nutter hahaha right!
Beautiful work
thankfully your videos are a bit more frequent but your quality of workmanship and beauty of production, in your own way, are as much a treat to watch and a joy to see appear as a new clicksping video. for letting us share in a little of your world, thanks john.
thanks
Good stuff Jon. Even when you dig, you're very precise...like your woodworking. It looks great.
Thanks Bill
Jon it is always a pleasure to watch you do these projects. You seem to be very skilled at methodical in how you do things. I appreciate your posting your projects and showing how you go about putting them together. Thanks much.
Thank you

Hello Jon, from the simplest projects do masterpieces!
Congratulations.
Thank you
Very nice neat work Jon , pleasure to watch you have a nice day !!!
Nice vid Jon and wow to that grill !
You explained that very well 👍🏻
Than you good video and you did a great job editing to the point and easy to follow
Jon I'm trying to in vision it, but what ever you do, I bet we the viewers are going to like it very much, cant wait to see the finished product...
I'm so conflicted towards this project, because I love what your doing but as I lawn guy I hate seeing so much grass being torn up lol. Keep up the good work!!!
Very good word for word instructions

Love it. Thanks for your efforts John.
Thanks John
I can't believe how soft your soil is, in Sydney in summer (when all the decking jobs happen) the soil is so hard I carry a second shovel because I've snapped the blade or the handle more times than I care to remember going into the sun baked clay we have here. I wish I could get a job with soil like yours for a change. I'll quit whining now and tell you that was a great job, very neat finish.

No bullshit, just right to the point. Great video.
love this project. I've wanted to do an outdoor project out of ipe, so this is definitely motivation to go hit up the lumber yard
Thanks Anthony...Ipe is great work with but a little expensive.

precision work as always Jon,satisfying to watch.
Thanks
Good stuff, Jon. Always great just to watch you work. You're living proof that you don't need all the latest gizmos and doodads to turn out beautiful work. Just need a few tools and lots of knowledge and practice. Keep it up sir, and thanks so much for all you've shared with us.
Thank...appreciate the comment!

Very beautiful job, thank you
Very interesting! I'm sure, since you are building it, it's going to be great for the family!
Thanks, it should be great
You do very nice work. Thorough and perfect every video. Keep up the good work!
thanks
Great project & precision work as usual! Always learn something beneficial from you videos. Keep it up.......... Steve
Thanks Steve
Nice to see you add that second support board. A lot of people forget it, then wonder why their deck dropped off. oh, and nice trick with marking the speed square for drilling, I'm definitely going to use that in the future.
Me to. Great idea, so simple.

Nice work as always John!I love the way the Ipe looks!!
Thanks... Ipe is great to work with
Thanks. Right to the point with no BS
Great work!! Always a joy to watch
Appreciate it Bryan
Loved this video and the styling of it.
Thanks Marcus
You forgot to show filling the frame with gravel. You did a fantastic job at showing all the steps so I thought I'd nit pick a little.

Good idea. :) have nice a day.
nailed it !!!!!!!!!!
no music no hgtv style talking. - Absolutley love it Jon. Nice touch with the firing of the grill
Thanks Sam
Vary good Jon👍
Good work 👌
You're onto something good with these silent videos. Sometimes the woodworking community on RUclips goes completely overboard with voice overs and editing effects that they forget that the viewers enjoy the simplicity of seeing someone share their craft.
Thanks...appreciate it.
I 100% agree
briancnc agreed. I justel watched 5 or 6 in a row. it's soothing and informative without the extra commentary.

you do good work
My wife said to learn from you as I swear 100 times just cutting some timber but you silent work is just brilliant
Man, that was very satisfying to watch. Awesome work. Your precision is super impressive. Beautiful result.
Thank you....appreciate it!

Excellent work. Best instructions seen
Clad you liked it! Thanks for the comment 👍
Youre my hero the way you work, my god the disaster I would have made of that yard. You don't have a scratch on you, loafers and khakis! It's truly Zen building. Thank you for this.
I didn't pick up in the sprinkler line that you moved, what was that for?
You have the most amazing looking soil! You also probably don't have many insects if you're building an outdoor kitchen.
Our house was built on an old farm... All we have is wet mud clay soil and a bazillion gnats that treating doesn't fix.
Nice video!
Muy buen video.
This is a great video. I like it much better when you show the work as it is done, rather than talk about it. I've studied tons of RUclips DIY videos, and this one is a standout. Thanks for posting this, and for doing it the way you did.
Very well done!!!!👍👍
appreciate it!
master of details. i like how your brain works.

Nice project. The boards you used looks a lot like cumaru.
Great project again Jon..Also nice speed square.. I live about 75 miles from Oklahoma City where Macklanburg Duncan company is located. I have several products from them..
Thanks Kim
Nice and clean work! I like the way you handled the lawn, that V groove with the shovel is an awesome technique! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks...it worked out really well

Great job on then deck, Jon. That's a fancy looking grill you have there. :>)
Thanks Steve...the Coyote Grill should be great
Jon Peter
Probably one of the smaller decks I've seen recently. hehe Lots of good tips & tricks in here! I liked the silent video.... allowed me to think through what/why you were doing things. I sometimes like that better than being narrated.
thanks Josh
Super jeleaous of your grass
perfectly explained without saying a word, well done
+Paul Hopkins Thanks Paul
lucky you. where I live in central SC in the clay country, you would have to have a jackhammer to burry that water line.
You did it nice and clean😘👍😈
and he did it all with his shirt tucked in
Awesome work! Thank you for posting!
I didn’t see if you put down protection against weeds under there. Was this addressed?
This is one of the best video clips
+John Mcghee Thanks John
Amazing work , Awesome camera footage , thank you thank you
always top nice dude
thanks
i really like the care you put into every element of a project JP.
thank you
Джон Маладца!
jon love your videos.
your dealer or lumber yard should have warned you about installing ipe. all 6 side of the plank should be sealed.
all end joints should be waxed. winters are hard on iron wood.try mohogany flame sealer cabot. just my two cents.
keep up the good work.
Sealing isn't required in Ipe because its naturally an oily wood. However, waxing the ends to prevent checking and using only stainless steel screws is a good practice.
Bravo, du très bon travail.
jon all of the videos you make are just full of great ideas, but i have watched this one, over and over just loving the outdoor kitchen slash bar b q area, yes i guess it's one of my favorites. keep up the great video production and work Happy Memorial Day!

very professional and well planned. I hope to reach that level someday.
Superb
thanks
It' really calming watching you work. Can only imagine the feeling with our builds. Great work. Great channel.
I would love a lawn like that--all grass--no weeds--WOW!!! I am jealous
We've had good grass weather so far in NJ this summer....decent amount of rain helps.
Cute
I had no idea I love silent videos. :-)
your videos are very interesting and also relaxing, seeing your videos is really peaceful! thanks for sharing
I wonder if the supporting studs with direct contact with the grass, concrete or dirt are treated wood or not. The preservatives of the pressure treated woods help protect the woods from termites, other insects, and fungal decay's attack.
professional work !
Makes you want to see !
Congratulations!!

Another great video, Jon! So relaxing at the end of a long day. I didn't quite get what you were up to there with the irrigation, but perhaps that will be revealed later? A water source for the upcoming kitchen?
Thanks, and yes...the water source will eventually be for the outdoor kitchen and for watering the vegetable garden.

let me ask cause im curious .... being able to work in cinematic synchronicity does it make you a better carpenter.... I will film all my work then and not just now and then...
Really love you video.
Jon you're like a surgeon with that shovel. Lol

+Jon Peters Art & Home in all seriousness great job. Once again a great video with some great tips throughout. Thx

You know it's a good vid when the dirt grass comes out in a perfect rectangle
speechless.
Are you going to stain the deck? If you are what are you going to use? I would recommend going with Sikkens SRD it works great with hardwoods.
