I adore my xs10, I’ve sold all of my other cameras (except my xpro1 which I converted to IR), including my panny full frame setup and switched to the xs10 full time about 6 months ago. It’s perfect for my needs as a landscape/street/family shooter. Also, the lack of weather sealing is no issue since this camera is more weather sealed then most options from other camera makers. I am not gentile with cameras at all, this has survived torrential downpours, blizzards, high heat, below 0f temps, etc. Many times I thought “o well gonna need a new camera” yet it just keeps kicking. Only thing that would get me to switch is an xpro4 with the ibis system from this camera. I adore the xpro workflow but am married to ibis since using this camera as I’m pretty tripod averse for a landscape photographer 😂. Great camera though and def worth buying in 2023 for 99% of people.
I agree with you. This camera can do it all and saves me from back pain..The xs20 is coming out sometimes this year so I hope that may lure me away from the xs10 :D
Agree with everything! Almost two years on mine, coming from a Canon M50 this has been a dream for photo and video. Will admit I got in over my head with the price difference of Fuji lenses. Kept the 18-55 and sold my 23mm 1.4 for a lot of vintage glass like Konica. No regrets it actually pushed me to improve my manual shooting and film recipes are super fun. I would love to see how you edit photos, the colors pop and everything looks so wet, just beautiful skills! Cheers

I love the fujifilm x-s10. I really think it’s one of fujifilms best cameras. It’s just the autofocus can struggle sometimes. But when it works, the quality of the images and video are always amazing!

I'm coming from a Nikon D3300 (I know, ancient and extremely entry-level), so I'm very excited to have something like the XS10. Exact same jump here man. I had my first ever exhibition two months ago, and I decided it was time for a change. After (heavily!) using my D3300 for about 9 years, switching to the XS10 has been mind-blowing (except for battery performance!) I'm really happy I did things this way, and always making an effort to make the most out of the gear before switching. And obviously, budget is a big thing. It's sometimes hard to watch gear stuff on RUclips, you'd swear this place is full of millionaires.
I love this camera. I've been traveling the world with it and it's everything I need for what I wanna do in photography. The sleek and nimble handles mean more to me than the more advanced features in more robust cameras.
I wanted a fuji travel camera, I would have loved to the retro dials but I just knew it had to have IBIS. I wonder if I'd made the right choice but now I'm very glad I did pick the X-S10. The form factor, camera sensor and IBIS just make it such a powerful little package. When I'm using it I forget I miss retro dials and I'm just always impressed by its output.
Moved from MFT back to APS-C with the XS-10 last and I love it! The dynamic range seems to bring out so much more detail in images and Fuji film simulation make it easy to capture stunning images straight from camera. The bigger sensor and higher res gives more detail and the range of APS-C specific lenses from Fuji and others complete the range. Just love this camera, the ease of use (OMG - those aperture rings really make me think more of settings before I start firing off a load of shots.). So, so pleased with the XS-10 and Fuji system - don’t feel like I’m stuck in a blind alley anymore like it felt with MFT
With over 50 years of photography in my rear view mirror I now shoot for personal use. I really enjoy the form factor, the lightweight and results I am able to achieve with this camera. Extremely flexible in the field and very impressive creative in camera options make this camera a joy to take anywhere. Personally I would not go to a 40mp camera vs 24mp on the SX10. With a Sling or a wrist strap the S X10 is as easy as close to a compact camera but all the advantages of the X System of Fuji mount lenses. Do not sell this camera short.
Could you recommend some lens for this camera. Mine came with the kit lens 16-80 f4. I bought a Vitrox 13mm f1.2. Was wanting a small pancake lens for travel to keep things simple and lighter. Thanks for any input you might have.
@@doubles259 Sorry it has been awhile. I enjoy Landscape and street photography. I bought the 16-80 for travel but my first lens was the 23mm F2 r wr. For me this lens is a perfect walk around lens. Images are excellent and the 35mm equivalent size covers a big part of what I shoot. The newer 33mm or the 35mm &50mm f2’s are well received as well.
Great video! I just sold my GR3 and picked up an X-S10 a few days ago. It's my first Fuji and I am LOVING this camera!! It checks all of my boxes for what I need as an EDC. Loving the images I have taken with it so far and can't wait to carry this with me everywhere I go on all my adventures! The X-S10 is my first Fujifilm camera after migrating from Pentax. I love this camera and the images I get out of it, and it is making me a better photographer. My only complaints are the menu system and my large hands accidentally hitting the focus joystick too easily 😄
Love this camera sooooo much, traded in my Nikon z50 for it and never looked back! Hope they don't bring out an xs20 any time soon, hate how fast technology upgrades, and my mind doesn't allow me to settle for less when it does! 😭
@@Iamtongue They only have two aps-c native lenses, both zooms, so didn't leave me much room for lens exploration unless you get an adapter for their full frame lenses, seems silly.
@@itacatv2146 You can put the Z lenses straight on there, but what's the point of getting an aps-c camera if ya gonna be spending top dollar on the full frame lenses that wont even be used to their full capacity on the smaller sensor? Would much rather just be using a specialized system like Fujifilm. 🙂
The x-s10 is the best. I have been using Fujifilm for 10 years now and it’s my favorite camera body. I can’t wait for the x-s20 to drop, hopefully with the 40mp sensor
As an X-S10 owner for year and a half, I can confirm everything you said. I was actually considering buying an X-T5 or an X-H2, but I heard that an X-S20 will be released soon. That could be my next camera, should the specs satisfy. I'll just buy another lens with the leftover cash. Cheers! :)
I was going to upgrade to the X-S10 until the X-H2 and X-T5 were released last year and thought that the X-S20 would be released in 2023. It looks like the X-S20 will be the first camera that Fujifilm will release this year. So will make a decision on what to get after seeing the RUclips reviews.
@@TrephineArtist You are right in that the EVF and the battery could do with upgrading. I am hoping for a better autofocus system, 40MP sensor and like you, a bigger battery. An external focus type selector button would be nice. I will be taking it to the eclipse in Texas next year, as the whole thing takes nearly three hours, I will probably need to bring an external battery pack along for it.
The grip on that camera is A1 compared to the cameras that preceded it, especially the smaller bodied cameras! It’s definitely still worth it in 2023. I was thinking of getting another one but I’m going to wait to see what the xs20 is like and maybe just get the 10 on sale lol
I have an R6 for my pro work. I've been playing with Fuji for about 2 years. I got my X-S10 used for $700 from a local camera store several months ago in excellent shape. I love this camera. I enjoy shooting it the most between my two cameras. I use it for family, casual shooting and street photography. The dials of the X-T20 didn't wow me, nor did the rings on my F2 fuji lenses. It's neat, but I shoot mostly in aperture priority. The grip feels so good in my big hands compared to what I had in my old X-T20. I sold my F2s and went for the Sigma 30mm 1.4 and 56mm 1.4. Those lenses are excellent and look great on this camera. I'm just wanting the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 and I'm probably gonna call it good. Well maybe the 23mm 1.4 if gets released soon. It makes me almost want to convert all the way to Fuji and pick up an X-H2. If the X-S20 was the same sensor and just added improved autofocus and eye autofocus, I'd probably be happy. I don't think I need 40mp for what I'm using it for.

Finally got one not long ago. Was considering an X100V but this might be the better camera with the grip and better video features at the small size. The video even at 1080 looks great even at 8 bit. Still need to try more lenses other than the cheap 27mm

I actually returned my X-S10 after a couple of weeks because it wouldn’t allow me to configure the front and rear command dials. So annoying because otherwise it was a nice camera. I’ve been considering the X-S20 because that annoying feature has now apparently been remedied. Currently shooting the X-T4.
I get what youre saying but XS-20 has that 4k60 alongside 6.2k/30, bigger battery, latest AF and procesor. If getting new XS-20 is deffo the better solution, but if youre getting a used XS-10 for a bargain price go for it.
If u dont shoot alot of video or u mostly do 4k/24p cinematic stuff, or just plain photography its a heck of a camera, especially if u can get it 500-600$ used for a body. However if I was just doing photography id go for any other Fuji because the sole point of the XS series these days is its a baby H2s hybrid. So if not doing video lovely to go for the retro look :D@@Iamtongue
the only thing about the camera I don't like is the lack of a d-pad. the swipe screen to trigger camera functions just doesn't work for me and the rest of the buttons are too spread out. it can be pretty frustrating to have to quickly change a specific settings.
It’s ergonomics are perfect for me. I tested the x-h2 and i was actually intimidated by how robust it is lmao. If they release an xs10 with wr, better af and better battery life, it will be the perfect camera, at least for me.
Excellent camera, have it over a year - very ergonomic, interchangeable lenses. My everyday camera. I use it a lot with my vintage lenses. So simple to use and compact. I’d prefer this way more than X100v. I ve been a long time film shooter and a Nikon fanatic from FM2, F3 to D850.
Also my only gripe is the mechanical shutter kind of sucks for studio stuff. Other than that , this camera + speed booster+Nikon 55f1.2 +Ninja 5. Dreamy

The X-S10 is the first camera I ever bought in July 2022! I like it (even more after this your videos), but it doesn't feel that intuitive to me. The switching of the function of the front and back dials when switching between modes (i.e. aperture / shutter priority or manual) without the option to change the function of the some dials is somewhat annoying. Also, I think I prefer the tilting screen rather than a fully articulating screen. Because of this, I'm thinking about selling my XS10 and going to a XT3. That does mean that I'm losing IBIS, one film simulation (classic neg), the ergonomics and the compactness of the body. I think I also prefer the top dials to change the exposure. Because I'm fairly new to photography a part of me says to stick with it and maybe buy a X-T2 to play around with besides the XS10 as a back-up when travelling or when the weather sucks. But because my budget isn't unlimited unfortunately I'm also thinking about investing in some lenses. A question like this feels more at home on a forum, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Any insight is appreciated :).
I've got one at a great price second hand. It can deliver but here are some negatives: video wobbles, shutter roll; personal preference I hate the flippy screen and would have preferred a tilting one like on the XT5; I have huge hands and the joystick placement is strange as I have to cramp my finger to reach it; sometimes I accidentally press the wrong buttons; WB not 100% reliable. Maybe I need to look at a firmware update
These are my artistic visions.. but the keep it simple. I shoot on the nostalgic film recipe by joe dagostino and then I would add the contrast and boost saturation to my images and play with the HSL sliders in lightroom to get the right colors. So there’s no correct / exact settings. I play with the colors that the photo already has in the scene and work from there..I approach each photo as a blank canvas so my settings are different everytime..
Hello my friend wanted to get your thoughts or recommendation. I currently have the Panasonic FZ300, which I am looking to upgrade. I am looking for something under $1,000 (hopefully). I would be willing to give up half or even go down to 200mm zoom if needed and takes great video and pictures. I was looking at the FZ2500 which has a bigger sensor but was wondering what your thoughts were and if you had 3 cameras you could recommend. Can someone help a noob out! I was looking at a Canon R10 when I came across the XT30ii and I love it. Help choose between XT30ii and X-S10? Usage: everyday life / travel / car photography. Minimum video usage
The XT30ii and the XS10 have the same image sensor inside. It boils down to what you want... XT30ii does not have a flippy screen where as the XS10 does XT30ii does not have IBIS.. XS10 does. What I find is a pro from the XT30 is the small size and form factor. This could be more beneficial to you if you like packing light for travels. But even still the XS10 is already small in my opinion. But the XT30 is that much smaller. But the XS10 has a nicer hand grip. I hope this helps.
Im about to test Fuji; im about to get a XS20 wich i think is a better Xs10. Do you think i should get it, or get a XT5? Its mainly for portraits and some videos. I already have a full Sony kit; i just love Fuji colors.... y hate my sony colors... Also, if you could get only one lens (with AF), which one would you choose? Thank you for your time in advance. the fuji kit lens is nice 18-55mm but the sigma also put out a lens that everybody is saying is really good and better than the kit lens. the sigma 18-50mm... so check that out!
After seeing this video i am debating between this one and the Canon EOS R10? what will you do? ( I need to do some close up photography for products) , but i also like to have the option of the 120 frame per second and auto stability for videos , so what do you think between these 2 ?

I didn’t pull the trigger on the s5ii because of no CF express B card slot. I’m also spoiled on the speed now lol. And I also like taking my xs10 out and about over the XH2S due to size lol. Unless the weather looks like shit.

I like having ibis because of low light situations. If you're indoors or somewhere without much light. This is great for getting sharp portraits in situations like that.
that's a good question. And it also depends on what it is you're going to do with it. I think if you're doing personal work the smart phone could be fine. But if you just want to experiement with different looks and compressions you need to get a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens.
I will be using it just to record videos of things and also taking pictures of people or views. I have the Fuji-film xs10 with a 23mm I’m not to sure if that’s a good lenses to start off or if it beats the iPhone 14
I wouldn't buy one now. Why? X-S20 BABY!!!! I have the H2 and S10. I absolutely LOVE this small powerhouse. I have taken some amazing pics even in low light with the kit 18-55mm. Maybe it's my settings on the H2, but I get better images (jpgs) from the S10. I've cropped images and had them printed with amazing quality. I've already asked my camera store to reserve the S20 as soon as they get one.
@@Iamtongue I had a day out with the X-H2 and 30mm f2.8 macro. That lens on an x-s20 would be a match made in heaven, that is if Fuji doesn't do something stupid with the x-s20. I'm hoping the only change in body design is the battery.
I now have the x-s20! It's not slightly improved, it's VASTLY improved. Only slightly larger than the x-s10 because of the much better larger Fuji battery. Adding that battery supercharges the functions of the x-s20.
You cannot actually get a good deal on this camera on the used market. Currently MBP Germany sells a used X-S10 for more than the price of a new one in a German online store. Almost all used cameras I am interested in buying are 80 to 100% of the new price, even though there are years old. Second hand market has become unattractive.

haha im glad you found the xs10.. I love the MFT system but the smaller sensor does have benefits when ti comes to size and weight.

Loved this little guy, was my intro to Fuji cameras that made me actually love them. Just hated the random freezing/lockup when using it occasionally.
That was its Achilles heels

@@itacatv2146 You can put the Z lenses straight on there, but what's the point of getting an aps-c camera if ya gonna be spending top dollar on the full frame lenses that wont even be used to their full capacity on the smaller sensor? Would much rather just be using a specialized system like Fujifilm. 🙂

The x-s10 is the best. I have been using Fujifilm for 10 years now and it’s my favorite camera body. I can’t wait for the x-s20 to drop, hopefully with the 40mp sensor

As an X-S10 owner for year and a half, I can confirm everything you said. I was actually considering buying an X-T5 or an X-H2, but I heard that an X-S20 will be released soon. That could be my next camera, should the specs satisfy. I'll just buy another lens with the leftover cash. Cheers! :)
I was going to upgrade to the X-S10 until the X-H2 and X-T5 were released last year and thought that the X-S20 would be released in 2023.
It looks like the X-S20 will be the first camera that Fujifilm will release this year. So will make a decision on what to get after seeing the RUclips reviews.

@@TrephineArtist You are right in that the EVF and the battery could do with upgrading. I am hoping for a better autofocus system, 40MP sensor and like you, a bigger battery. An external focus type selector button would be nice.
I will be taking it to the eclipse in Texas next year, as the whole thing takes nearly three hours, I will probably need to bring an external battery pack along for it.

I have an R6 for my pro work. I've been playing with Fuji for about 2 years. I got my X-S10 used for $700 from a local camera store several months ago in excellent shape. I love this camera. I enjoy shooting it the most between my two cameras. I use it for family, casual shooting and street photography. The dials of the X-T20 didn't wow me, nor did the rings on my F2 fuji lenses. It's neat, but I shoot mostly in aperture priority. The grip feels so good in my big hands compared to what I had in my old X-T20. I sold my F2s and went for the Sigma 30mm 1.4 and 56mm 1.4. Those lenses are excellent and look great on this camera. I'm just wanting the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 and I'm probably gonna call it good. Well maybe the 23mm 1.4 if gets released soon. It makes me almost want to convert all the way to Fuji and pick up an X-H2. If the X-S20 was the same sensor and just added improved autofocus and eye autofocus, I'd probably be happy. I don't think I need 40mp for what I'm using it for.

Finally got one not long ago. Was considering an X100V but this might be the better camera with the grip and better video features at the small size. The video even at 1080 looks great even at 8 bit. Still need to try more lenses other than the cheap 27mm

I actually returned my X-S10 after a couple of weeks because it wouldn’t allow me to configure the front and rear command dials. So annoying because otherwise it was a nice camera. I’ve been considering the X-S20 because that annoying feature has now apparently been remedied. Currently shooting the X-T4.

I get what youre saying but XS-20 has that 4k60 alongside 6.2k/30, bigger battery, latest AF and procesor. If getting new XS-20 is deffo the better solution, but if youre getting a used XS-10 for a bargain price go for it.

If u dont shoot alot of video or u mostly do 4k/24p cinematic stuff, or just plain photography its a heck of a camera, especially if u can get it 500-600$ used for a body. However if I was just doing photography id go for any other Fuji because the sole point of the XS series these days is its a baby H2s hybrid. the only thing about the camera I don't like is the lack of a d-pad. the swipe screen to trigger camera functions just doesn't work for me and the rest of the buttons are too spread out. it can be pretty frustrating to have to quickly change a specific settings.

It’s ergonomics are perfect for me. I tested the x-h2 and i was actually intimidated by how robust it is lmao. If they release an xs10 with wr, better af and better battery life, it will be the perfect camera, at least for me.

Excellent camera, have it over a year - very ergonomic, interchangeable lenses. My everyday camera. I use it a lot with my vintage lenses. So simple to use and compact. I’d prefer this way more than X100v. I ve been a long time film shooter and a Nikon fanatic from FM2, F3 to D850.

The X-S10 is the first camera I ever bought in July 2022! I like it (even more after this your videos), but it doesn't feel that intuitive to me. The switching of the function of the front and back dials when switching between modes (i.e. aperture / shutter priority or manual) without the option to change the function of the some dials is somewhat annoying. Also, I think I prefer the tilting screen rather than a fully articulating screen.
Because of this, I'm thinking about selling my XS10 and going to a XT3. That does mean that I'm losing IBIS, one film simulation (classic neg), the ergonomics and the compactness of the body. I think I also prefer the top dials to change the exposure.
Because I'm fairly new to photography a part of me says to stick with it and maybe buy a X-T2 to play around with besides the XS10 as a back-up when travelling or when the weather sucks. But because my budget isn't unlimited unfortunately I'm also thinking about investing in some lenses.
A question like this feels more at home on a forum, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Any insight is appreciated :).

I've got one at a great price second hand. It can deliver but here are some negatives: video wobbles, shutter roll; personal preference I hate the flippy screen and would have preferred a tilting one like on the XT5; I have huge hands and the joystick placement is strange as I have to cramp my finger to reach it; sometimes I accidentally press the wrong buttons; WB not 100% reliable. Maybe I need to look at a firmware update
It was a firmware issue, I was using it with v1.0.2 or something lol all good now with the latest firmware

Hi, I love the color of your photo. Still, using also the xs10, i have really less contrast in my image. I was wondering about your settings…
These are my artistic visions.. but the keep it simple. I shoot on the nostalgic film recipe by joe dagostino and then I would add the contrast and boost saturation to my images and play with the HSL sliders in lightroom to get the right colors. So there’s no correct / exact settings. I play with the colors that the photo already has in the scene and work from there..I approach each photo as a blank canvas so my settings are different everytime..

I would be willing to give up half or even go down to 200mm zoom if needed and takes great video and pictures. Can someone help a noob out! I was looking at a Canon R10 when I came across the XT30ii and I love it. Help choose between XT30ii and X-S10? Usage: everyday life / travel / car photography. Minimum video usage

The XT30ii and the XS10 have the same image sensor inside. It boils down to what you want... XT30ii does not have a flippy screen where as the XS10 does XT30ii does not have IBIS.. XS10 does. What I find is a pro from the XT30 is the small size and form factor. This could be more beneficial to you if you like packing light for travels. But even still the XS10 is already small in my opinion. But the XT30 is that much smaller. But the XS10 has a nicer hand grip. I hope this helps.

the fuji kit lens is nice 18-55mm but the sigma also put out a lens that everybody is saying is really good and better than the kit lens. the sigma 18-50mm... so check that out!

I like having ibis because of low light situations. If you're indoors or somewhere without much light. This is great for getting sharp portraits in situations like that.

If you're talking about video. It does get warm but the battery will die out before it overheats.

that's a good question. And it also depends on what it is you're going to do with it. I think if you're doing personal work the smart phone could be fine. But if you just want to experiement with different looks and compressions you need to get a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens.
I will be using it just to record videos of things and also taking pictures of people or views. I have the Fuji-film xs10 with a 23mm I’m not to sure if that’s a good lenses to start off or if it beats the iPhone 14

I have the H2 and S10. I absolutely LOVE this small powerhouse. I have taken some amazing pics even in low light with the kit 18-55mm.
Maybe it's my settings on the H2, but I get better images (jpgs) from the S10. I've cropped images and had them printed with amazing quality.
I've already asked my camera store to reserve the S20 as soon as they get one.

@@Iamtongue I had a day out with the X-H2 and 30mm f2.8 macro. That lens on an x-s20 would be a match made in heaven, that is if Fuji doesn't do something stupid with the x-s20. I'm hoping the only change in body design is the battery.
I now have the x-s20! It's not slightly improved, it's VASTLY improved. Only slightly larger than the x-s10 because of the much better larger Fuji battery. Adding that battery supercharges the functions of the x-s20.

You cannot actually get a good deal on this camera on the used market. Currently MBP Germany sells a used X-S10 for more than the price of a new one in a German online store. Almost all used cameras I am interested in buying are 80 to 100% of the new price, even though there are years old. Second hand market has become unattractive.
