I was about to skip the ads, but dammit, Brad's a good guy and he has given us hours and hours of entertaining and informative content. For crying out loud, I can at least watch a couple of lousy ads.
I saw "inexpensive" and the first thing I thought of was line wobble. I was not wrong. At this point I'd suggest people pick up a used Samsung tab S7 or S8 as they have what's arguably the best pen in the mobile drawing space. Even the new Microsoft pen has a LOT of wobble. I have not used the apple pen, but the fact it must be charged is a massive negative.
i have been using the apple pencil 2 and my hands get tired faster than it getting from 100 to 70%. no line wobble with the glass screen and default tip. charging is not a problem because it charges very fast and last a long time. activation force is very light to the point that i can use techniques used with a real pencil.
As much as I dislike apple, I must admit that their pen is really good and charging is not a problem - mainly cuz you almost always keep the pen snapped to the tablet when you're not working, which is... most of the time honestly. It keeps charge for long, I never ran out of its battery, so it might as well be batery-less, it's never noticable. I really wish I could try out samsung tablets to compare these two
Can you please do a video on the used market and what is still a worthwhile buy despite being older? New entry level pads Vs older mid or top tier... Tab s6 (non lite version) for example.
This is better than Surface Go series for sure, with similar pen performance and gained a much better OLED screen. It's also priced in-between Go and Pro, so seems to be a good alternative to the Surface.
Please review the Robo and Kala 2 in 1 laptop. It's a direct competitor to the Surface Pro and all the other slate tablet computers. The price is very competitive at $600. The reviews available say it's a steal but they don't say much about its drawing capabilities. Would love to hear your thoughts about it!
At 4:33 you say that it has an intel pentium N6000 processor, but this model that you have brought has a intel core i3 N300 as can be seen from the label at the back of the device at 0:48, a very big oversight for a reviewer, learn to do your job!
Why are they still speccing (Windows) devices with 8GB of RAM? Just try browsing any social media site on this thing for a few minutes and watch the browser grind to a halt or start randomly aggressively unloading media and tabs
You get what you pay for, but I'm sure that anyone wanting to do some more serious illustration or art is going to regret this underpowered tablet with too little ram really soon. I would save up a little more cash and look into the Lenovo Flex series. Especially like the Flex 5 that comes with a Wacom powered pen. I'm very content with my Flex 5 with AMD Ryzen 7 and 16Gb of RAM. I chose to spend €200 more to get the 1Tb version with QHD touch screen. The pen I'm using is the Lenovo Active Pen 3 with Wacom AES 2.0... coincidentally it works with my Lenovo P11+ Android tablet as well. At this price I would go with an Android tablet. Even my last generation P11+ has better pen support than this. Now that Krita and Clip Studio are on Android, Android tablets can be a great alternative for this.
I dont have a tablet for drawing, I want to buy one. I can see clearly that iPad 9 is way unexpensive than Lenovo Flex and, for digital illustration, it has the same specs (or even better)
@@diegocobo8 comparing apples with pears. iPad and Flex 5 are totally different, different functionality, different devices, different software. Specs are quite different too. The iPad can't use half of the professional or semi-professional software I'm using. Not saying the iPad is bad, but I do have an iPad Pro and it just can't do everything it needs to do to get my work design done.
Since you recommended the Flex 5, what do you think about the Yoga i7 for someone getting into digital art for anime and manga illustration?@@benjamina6915
I believe that the model you reviewed is not the same as the ones you were showing on the ASUS website. ASUS sent you the new T3304GA, which has a much faster 8-core i3-N300 processor compared to the older T3300KA models that you showed on the website.
I was a huge Surface fan up to version 4. After that I never found the upgrades worth the money. It ended with me getting a Samsung galaxy S7+ and I've never looked back. Sure there are software I miss but the feel of drawing is so much better. Plus that it's so much faster in regular use. Not going back to Surface.
Looking at the 4GB version for web browsing, media consumption, typing docs, etc. With little to no drawing or gpu intensive apps, how would it be.... If used like a Chromebook or tablet? TY
Por favor, podríais ayudarme? Me ha dejado de funcionar el ratón del propio teclado. No sé qué hacer. He reiniciado varias veces, he actualizado el controlador del dispositivo y nada. Solo llevo un par de semanas con esta laptop.
I'm analysing trading charts and want to draw on top of them with the ideas while having super portable Windows machine with me all the time. Plus using screen in the evening will let me get less light out because of oled panel.
Brad, you never reviewed the surface studio desktop. I’m looking out for all in one desktop PC that can function like the surface studio laptop because of the bigger screen. I’d love to hear your opinion on the device .
The reason could be because Microsoft originally decided to not let the Surface Studio go into a 3rd generation. At least that is the background story given to me by a german vendor specializing in Microsoft surface products. Supposedly, it was a dutch company which gave Microsoft a ring and told them that they needed exactly that device in larger numbers. That was when Microsoft grudgingly decided to give the Surface Studio a half-assed life extension. However, one should not expect Microsoft to manufacture a real 3rd/4th generation of it. Most likely, there won´t be a successor to the Surface Studio 2+.
You can. The Z13 flow uses the same pen tech. I saw a test where they say the ASUS pen has less jiggle than the surface pen 1, but it’s not as good as surface slim pen 2 on a surface pro 8
i think this could work well with on the go office work like documents... preparing presentations etc... also content consumption with that screen ... buut even slightly serious illustration is quite a stretch... especially the 4gb ram one ... thats just bad for windows
I feel if they move all ROG Ally hardware spec here. Like ryzen APU, 16g ram, 512G storage. Dont need OLED, good 120hz LCD with VRR like ally will be very good already. Make it $1000 or less, this will sell like crazy I assure you Asus.
I got my surface pro 8 base model last black friday for 680 euro, and I did consider older slate too because I go for under 500 euro. But as I want to use it as a laptop but the performance is just not enough for every thing else as I watch review. It's not like the performance of SP8 is that good because while plug in it give out so much heat, but It's usable as a normal laptop. It's really a shame, I would totally take Ryzen 7000 in tablet (basically ROG ally tablet), with good enough heat solution, under 1200 euro, so it could replace my desktop for light gaming (I rarely use it outside of vacation). And a flow Z13 for most people is just too big, too heavy and too expensive for most people for this purpose.
i have a i7 surface 8, it barely gets heated even after running PS, Ai and daz3d, blender all together for like 2-3 hrs. It only gets heated after 7-8 hrs plugged in but its meant to be right ?
please try to understand one thing, not everybody's workflow require slow drawing. I have seen great artists using sp7 using old surface pen to create amazing work. Not every line wobbles
ROG flow x16 for drawing and 3d sculpting, is that possible for a video? its the most powerful 2 in 1, so I wondered if you'd be interested! It has its own pen and supports MPP 2 surface pen and others MPP 2 portions. was looking into buying something that is convertible and good for 3D but nobody has objectively reviewed asus pen that comes with it!
hmm, there is too much compromise from this one, i suggest to get an android or ipad instead, at that price point you can get (depend where you live and sales) a samsung S7 or S8 or ipad pro/air
If this is too limited for general computing and you're mainly going to use it just for sketching, might as well get a good affordable android tab, e.g. Xiaomi pad 6.
I bought the last years slate 13 oled instead of an ipad and i thought i regretted it. Last month I bought an ipad it was seemless but ipad is a tablet kind at the end of the day. Slate 13 holds on its own for its oled display with hdr dolby vision and quad speakers with dolby atmos, though using it primarily as an entertainment device and zoom, google meets and ipad for note taking and easy to go device. But Slate handles only basic usage if you try to run a game you will be frustrated 😅
I’ve been watching your videos for about a year now, I finally bit the bullet and put an M1 MacBook Air from 2020 on layaway at our neighborhood pawn shop! I’m really excited to use apple side car so I don’t have to buy any extra devices unless I want or need to.
Great timing. I am currently looking for a laptop, great review.

I've had no wobble issues with the surface pro 8 and slim pen 2
don't have a surface 8 or 9 but watched brad's video about the new microsoft pen, it didn't have dat much wobble tho? and he was pretty happy with it.

Please do a video on the new clip studio paint simple version on tablets feature!!
I was looking for a review on this! "published 30 seconds ago"
I'm looking forward to the review of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Series. Should I add the new NotePaper Screen for these new tablets?

Could you please give the reference of the red pen you use around 8:10 ?

Brad, could you review the brand UGEE again? Your last video on them that I found was from 6 years ago
Does this tablet work with the newer Microsoft pen?
Do you think you could use that pen on a Surface Pro 2?

Brad, talk about the New Simple Mode of the Clip Studio Paint, for tablets!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEEE review the fire max 11 and the fire stylus!!

About the the vivobook s14. I'm planning to buy one but I can't find a good drawing review
Does it support virtual background on Zoom Meeting apps?

Can the pen wobble be avoided if i draw on a huion kamvas 13 tabled and not on the laptop or will it still happen , pls someone tell me 😭
I'm wondering if I can apply what was said about the pen to other current asus products, like the flow z13 and th3 zenscreen ink....
You can. The Z13 flow uses the same pen tech. I saw a test where they say the ASUS pen has less jiggle than the surface pen 1, but it’s not as good as surface slim pen 2 on a surface pro 8

Thanks very much , your are so clear (y)
There is a newer i3-N300 (T3304) model but with around USD900, that is too pricy with the configuration. i3-N300/8G/256GB ~USD700 will be great.
how much the i3 version cost?
Where is a review of Galaxy tab s9? Isn't it worth a video?

Brad Please could you review ASUS rog acronym z13? that tablet have a lot of power but idk how the drawing on it like.
That's really hard I don't know which laptop should I get Asus Zenbook 2-in-1 i7-1360p with pen or Asus zenbook x14 i9-13900h with wacom
Hi Mr COOOOLBOW !! Please revive the viking wrestler whome you killed prematurely .
Can you use the new s pen on this tablet?
Samsung pen on Asus tablet?

This guy actually inplanted chips in our brain
I dislike iPad OS, but the 4:3 Aspect Ratio is the reason I can't leave iPad Pro...
As soon as you said Microsoft pen protocol, I'm out. I have used "older surfaces", and they're completely unusable for drawing.
That tabs9 is coming right? 😂
I’ve been watching your videos for about a year now, I finally bit the bullet and put an M1 MacBook Air from 2020 on layaway at our neighborhood pawn shop! I’m really excited to use apple side car so I don’t have to buy any extra devices unless I want or need to.
This is $358 today. october 8th 202:
It came out a long ago... don't know why Asus sent it to you now to review it. Insanely slow device... could have come with chromebook.
I prefer LCD and a better processor.
Windows only apps means being spyware free? If only the world were so simple.
Nice
im baffled that companies can sell computers at 700$+ with 8gb of ram.
There's e ink tablets that are better than this
too expensive
Day two of asking Brad Colbow to review the Oppo Pad Air with the Oppo Smart Pen
