  • Mercedes Dealer outcome, there was no real discussion over it to be honest, The were very upfront and and it worked out well for all involved.
Just two days of work this week, been having terrible back pain over the past few weeks and instead of just struggling on decided to take action, or no action as it happens !
Thank you for watching, please like and subscribe !
    Have a great week
    Neil

Great video Neil, I’m glad you got your van fixed and sorted by the dealer. Sadly every pound is a prisoner these days, shippers don’t care about offering 60ppm as long as they get the work done. Take care and take money!

Sorry to hear about your back playing up Neil, glad you’re getting your poppy back on the gearbox outlay. The bids are weird with no understanding at all, I picked up a 125 mile sv job yesterday at £1 pm ! The guys that say “pays” usually pay a higher price in my experience, so are trying it on.
I got work quite easily this week so no complaints. New van is a big improvement too !

Yes so happy about that £680 eek, but all in all they sorted it all out between themselves.

Your van looks so well looked after and great news you're not having to pay the bill, I can take a guess on the shipper but RUclips comments aren't that place.

Hi Neil great video again I’m new to this game been on CX 3 weeks now just wondered if you could advise me if I’m going wrong here
Weekend working let’s say a job is 150 miles would you quote 200 or less as you won’t get a backload and also it’s the weekend

    • @neptunecourier
      @neptunecourier  Месяц назад

Hi, mainly yes I charge more, some job posters understand some don't or don't care. You can also consider your costs to run back empty. So 150miles maybe 3 gallons=£20. And if you want to add more of course you can but it may price you out.
All the best good luck out there, call me sometime happy to help for a coffee.

Hello Neil, i'm glad that you don't have to pay for that gearbox repair and that Mercedes have come good on that one (so they bloody should!).
I'm in my mid sixties and i'm semi retired.
I keep working because I love my job, and i have known my regular customers for 20+ years.
I use a med wheelbase Vito van.
Its my 3rd Vito, and although i now only do 25 to 30 thousand miles a year (due to my semi retirement) my previous Vitos covered 80 thousand miles a year with me as the sole driver.
I was employed full time whilst driving those vans and the company would sell them at the 3 year point bevause the mercedes warranty would run out at that point.
Every Vito that i have had (2.2 litre Mercedes engine) has been an extremely capable van, with very little down time.
I just wish that they weren't so bloody expensive to buy!
Great video as usual Neil...love your content....keep those wheels rolling 👍

Hi PTRs, thank li appreciate more than anything the feedback, I keeps me going,
Got to say I love the vito, it strikes a great balance. The new 2.0l engine should provide the same service life as the 2.2 as it is the same sort block unit.
      All the very best

As an aside, I change my oil and filter at roughly 12,000 miles.
In my opinion a 24,000 mile service interval isn't enough for a very busy van.
So, Mercedes service my van every 24,000 miles and I give it an oil and filter change after 12,000, (using their parts of course)
Some might say it's a bit over the top, but it works for me, and should give extra longevity to the engine . 😀👍

I am 100% with you, 24k is to long for the oil.
I did an oil analysis at olpie oils one at 24k oil report came back bad
Next one at 12k miles oil report came back as good but due to be changed. @PTRs-Transport

Excellent Neil. Hearing a lot of negativity about the Cx recently. My mate says there’s nowhere near the work that used to be on it

Had another bad week down on the south coast. I just can't get my head around it. I can bid on jobs I've done before at the same price and still not win them.
Every time I've been to Ipswich it ends being the best days pay.

@leechi001 hi, I have found the lastb2 weeks, sticky some days the jobs pay well and others either no work or i don't win anything.
