Same, hard to believe how young he was. I was probably a freshman in highschool when this came out, shortly before he left circa for globe (which I wasn't fond of). All those original flip dudes are legendary, but Penny, Rowley and Arto were already pretty well known, especially with Saari and Tom being in Menikmati. The sorry videos woke us up to how good Appleyard was, and of course Bastien merking everything
The first 2 skate videos I ever saw were Menikmati and Sorry. I'm 34 now and words can't express how much I looked up to guys like Appleyard, Arto, Rowley when i was a kid. So glad you guys got mark on for this.
"I was good as fuck, for real" @ 8:04 is just my favorite moment ever, accurate and hilarious in its way! I met Mark when he was hanging out while Geoff was filming his Howard flip/fakie bigspin heel into the Santa Ana River ditch and got to see him stick it right in front of the bicyclist in "Sorry," both of them were awesome, I had broken a Rune deck that day and they heaped product on me and a cassette of "Menikmati," which I obviously already had, but was psyched to get another copy of, legendary dudes who are extra awesome for being generous to a random skater on a Saturday many moons ago.
Its super fun watching these. It's very cool to see the lack of ego in these older pros. You can tell he watched this once when it came out and that's it. His comments almost make it seem like he's watching a different person
Man. I grew up around Mark - Beasley Park, the one he keeps mentioning. Dude was a local legend. Whole crew. DmBc. Conrad, Scott Mac, Jamie Johnny, Bones, Manny, ONeil. If you even caught a glimpse of Mark most heads would just sit down and watch. Fuck. What I would do to just go back in time and live it all over again. Never forget.
This series you guys are doing is dope. The only criticism I have is you should have the clip playing I'm large frame and Mark doing the commentary in a small picture in picture in the corner. That's all.
Favorite skater of all time.. watched his parts endlessly for inspiration to skate and get pumped on life. Dudes the best, I owe a lot to the man. We blessed to have the apple nipples.
Best board I ever owned was like an 01 or 02 flip Appleyard all black with a gold bullet, but not the popular blue one. Can't find it for the life of me. Learned tipple flips on it, first handrail on it, broke it used a blank I had hurt myself so so so bad chasing a blunt down a parking block we put at a local gap in my neighborhood. Never been the same since that one lol.
Appleyard is my all time fav. Would love to see him talk about all of his pro model shoes. Also would have loved to here about most this part was filmed years before. Most of the footage he’s wearing Circa’s.
I grew up watching Sorry a lot. Like, a lot. But this part is definitely him at the top of his game. You can really see how he found his style and how fucking comfortably he's in it. The whole part just flows so well.
Watching the flip videos was a huge part of my teenage years. Love the entire team, but Mark was always my favorite. Great trick selection, and the best style in skateboarding. Apple butters
My favourite skater since I first saw him in Transworld ie. Almost looked like he was getting a little misty-eyed (joy)overwhelmed at the end there 🥲. I was anyways 🥲. These 3 part-recap vids of his were awesome and special to me to watch. Stoked you guys honoured Mark like this.
You felt the emotion at the end of the part when he said 'some of the best days of my life' amazing shit, you did it homie, glad you're proud of it and the video parts will be enjoyed forever
I know the feeling watching old footage and realizing you were so much better. Admittingly the surprise tricks are nothing like a nollie backside noseblunt, but still. I wish that tall ledge going down that bank in miami were still around, imagine the shit that would have gone down. And was there anything at the wedge other than those damn hubbas? This was before China blew up as well, a couple years after this, especially around fully flared. And yes, every trick Jeremy Wray does is textbook, especially those front 3s and backside heelflips
Being in my 30s now and growing up on Mark in this era… just love hearing his insight on stuff

Mark was my favorite I’m
33
Mark is my favorite skater of all time, and the most disappointing interview. I used to think he was drunk but I think he’s just vapid
For real 33 now, The sorry videos and I think it was the habitat mosaic video.
The god Rodney mullen!
I love Mark, it’s like he’s watching them for the 1st time 😄
Legend.

Also the same age and childhood experience ✊💯
Appleyard's output was insane. These video parts are still bangers even by todays standard. A golden era in skateboarding.
Fore sure... skating is not only about trick, but how you do it. The style is incredible, pure skateboarding.
Love how he's giving so much respect to Jeremy Wray. His parts/footage would still stand today.

bro thats epic
I love seeing a skater acknowledge their talent. “I was good as fuck. For real.” Absolutely! Generations of skaters with Appleyard in them.
Love how stoked he gets on seeing a good trick.
Yoo I always thought Apples had a J-Wray type bs heel/flip style to him. Now it makes sense. these are so good more more plz
LEGEND
Seeing Mark geeking out his own footage is amazing
He reacts to his own videos the way we react to his videos 😅 "nollie back nose blunt?! Right on!"
Nollie BACKSIDE flip?! ..did that proper!..
Its super fun watching these. It's very cool to see the lack of ego in these older pros. You can tell he watched this once when it came out and that's it. His comments almost make it seem like he's watching a different person

I like how mark doesn’t down play how good he is.
So unreal to hear him being stoked on his own tricks! I still have the torn out pages from his nollie bs flip sequence at 6:14
Apples has the best style ever, I just love how his tricks look. Thanks for the video!
The kickflip melon was unreal!
Wow, this is so good! I love his reaction to his parts. They still stand strong together because his style is so damn solid!
"I'm good as fuck" juxtaposed with "I had a funny ass hat on" is the definition of real
I remember that skateboard mag cover. Mark has some amazing style.
Mark Appleyard skate clip always be the best part of skating and touring around each other spots.
20 years later and Appleyard is still my favorite skater! Beast on the board.
Mark is awesome 😂 love hearing about these parts I grew up watching and loving.
Wowza that 360 flip at Fitzzy was bonkers great vid top shelf dude....
Mark Appleyard has been my favorite skater since i was 16 years old. Such A nice style.
Dude Mark’s the best, 12:28 😂

I’m glad that mark can appreciate how sick his skating was during this era. Guy was ripping and always had me hyped to skate.
I remember reading in an interview that he finished filming for this part like 4 years before the video came out. extremely talented skater.
love Appleyard. Legend
Him getting stoked on his 360 flip was so fucking sick
Appleyard is my all time fav. Would love to see him talk about all of his pro model shoes. Also would have loved to here about most this part was filmed years before. Most of the footage he’s wearing Circa’s.
Love how stoked he got on his own footy, hell yeah!
I grew up watching Sorry a lot. Like, a lot. But this part is definitely him at the top of his game. You can really see how he found his style and how fucking comfortably he's in it. The whole part just flows so well.

My favourite skater since I first saw him in Transworld ie.
Almost looked like he was getting a little misty-eyed (joy)overwhelmed at the end there 🥲. I was anyways 🥲.

MA is it. Straight giving it. Love. Gratitude. HHHHAHHAhHhaa
Hell yeah you were good mark! Still are

Apples is too good
Shanghai has amazing food!
Cool stuff
What brand cap is Mark wearing? Looks nice 👌
I watched this part prior to all of this and noticed he was doing alot of nollie big spins
Imagine being so good at skateboarding that Geoff Rowley gives you $1,000 for landing a trick while on a skate trip together.
Mark's higher than the kickflip melon grab in Dubai.
Apples!
i like how he just does whatever comes out.. oh it went crooked, crooked it is then. oh the board wanted to do a sussy, so i did a sussy, whatever 😂
love how hes surprised by his own skating.
👏👏👏
Beasley Bowl! DMBC!!! 🤘👽👽👽🤙
Appleyard, Gonzalez, and Boulala easily had the best parts in extremely sorry
Good video.. :)
Who edits these? Rog? Pretty good!
Mark applyard is mark appleyarda biggest fan😅jk
Appleyard confirmed offshore bank accounts on Cayman Islands
His mom lives there
The older Appleyard gets, the more he begins to look like Paul Scheer from The League ahah
He looks like the iceman killer and Ashton Kutcher
🛹🛹🛹
He reminds me of Crob and vice versa lol
Rip Shane cross best skater ever
