Hard nostalgia watching this. Heavy midle school vibes. what a crazy and fun point in time. The prequel to modern life. Old 00's skate videos always hold a soft spot in my heart.
So many memories attached to this one. My brother bought this for me for Christmas and I must have watched it hundreds of times. It not only affected my skating, but changed the music I listened to. And I still have my copy.
One of my favourite parts of all time and one of the best videos ever! This part blow my mind when it came out. The music, the style and the extremly technical trick selection influenced my skating so much. At that time the Circa CX201 was the shit. Its the shoe he wears all the time and his pro model on Circa looked nearly the same. The whole Flip videos were soooo damn good. Epic!
Oh man. I saw this video when I was 17 at the epitome of my skate rat days. Blew my mind. Every skater has those videos that were most influential when they were coming up. This is definitely one of mine. Glad to see several of these guys still going strong. I wanna go skate.
damn dude your so right i could actually cry everytime i watch this part...you see this and it starts working in your brain directly....goddamn i want this time back so damn much -.-
I remember when I was 13, I had to save up two weeks worth of my paper round money to buy this on tape. £25 from the local skate shop. 9 years later I've moved house and come across the tape, I'm never letting it go.
Anyone ever realize that the kickflip front crook, backside heelflip down the Sacramento triple set, and nollie backside heelflip down the same set from Really Sorry ARE ALL FROM THE SAME DAY?!?!!?
been my favorite part for ten fuckin years now!! favorite song as well!! this part never gets old and reminds me how much I love skateboarding!!!! Fuckin miss this era of skateboarding!
i watch brand new skate footage everyday, i can watch just about any skate video that's ever been made, and it's free. i got this video 10 years ago when it first came out, (it's still probably my favourite) i had to go to the skateshop every week to see if they had it in. Kids nowadays have never had it so good.
if you listen close, the editor has 90% of the shots that when mark lands, it syncs with the snare drum the song playing in the background (every me every you - placebo) .... cool
Still watching marks part in 2024. Might be my favorite video part of anyone ever. the song, tricks, and steez. Maybe skate one day 🤟 . whole vid is great but this part was on repeat.
Best times in my life… never knew it would come to an end. Skating in the late 90’s early 00’s with the whole krew… fucking priceless. The new gen just don’t know…. Golden years of skating it’ll never be the same.
I remember, this was the first video I've ever bought when I've started skateing together with Really Sorry because they were in the same dvd. Kinda legendary Fred.
it started with music....but i never thought we'd be saying the same thing about our beloved skate videos!! straight to web videos aren't nearly as ill as these were.... :(
also non vx footage looks bad it's too wide looking, filmers zoom in too much so the top of the skaters body is cut off, and don't get me started on go pro footage. I prefer iphone footage to anything except vx footage.
2020 - There are "professional" skateboarders that couldn't top this video part out there today. A few of the "newer" guys on Baker (Not to mention any names). This part is what PROFESSIONAL skateboarding was about and always should be about. Keep on killin it Apples!
best skatepart ever. i fucking love his style. Everthing looks so unreal effortless. And the song....❤ and please, can we talk about that treflip at 2:57?
circa had such a raw team at that time though. declined over time but back then? muska, thomas, appleyard, lopez, chris cole? they were a top tier core brand. I wanted their shoes but just never copped
Just to let everyone know how good vx cameras were for skateboarding, this video part would not have had the same lasting impact if it had been filmed in hd. And it's because hd footage is too wide and too short height wise.

We really had no idea just how good we had it. What an era to grow up in. Salute, you magnificent bastards were my heros.
So many memories attached to this one. My brother bought this for me for Christmas and I must have watched it hundreds of times. It not only affected my skating, but changed the music I listened to. And I still have my copy.
Classic! Still my favorite skate song out of any video til this day.
one of my favorites skate parts ever. I've started skating when this video came out.
the first kickflip 0:40 marked my life forever.
I wanted to check the comments incase anyone else was talking about that kickflip. Superb! God this video takes me back!
best intro to a part ever. like ever.
When a part is worthy only with a kickflip you know there is something happening for history. Never saw this again until Westgate one.
Glad someone else mentioned this, I had never before seen someone pop a kickflip so high and so effortlessly till this and that stuck with me
You dont know how many times I rewatched that kickflip haha
That Nollieflip, BS 50-50 down the clipper is simply amazing.
This trick is legendary by today's standards and he did this in early 2000s that's the insane part.
@@chrisgrieve1121 an amazing warm up for Shane O'neill
@@nobailjustjail rum dumb you'll never understand.

When this first came out, Mark was the first skater I noticed to have a style.
after watching this again after so many years , you guessed it ! he had mad style.
+Christopher Ray that one backside flip and the tre over the bump to rail is just astounding. hard to believe it was more than 10 years ago.
Must have been the first video you watched, lot of skaters with mad steez out there.
So true
@@007Variable dumb comment. That's not what he said at all. He just said that's when the importance of style clicked for HIM.

look how far ahead he was at his time, appleyard is an amazing skater.
For reals mate! I realize that every time I watch his FLIP parts, dude has mad buttery style, he got rails, tables, ledges, hubbas you name it bru
Anyone ever realize that the kickflip front crook, backside heelflip down the Sacramento triple set, and nollie backside heelflip down the same set from Really Sorry ARE ALL FROM THE SAME DAY?!?!!?
coolnightskate nollie flip nose in the really sorry too, same rail os kf front crook
there release was only 1 year apart, so at the time I would say it's still relevant ...
We've all had that "FUCK YEAH" at 2 minutes
I hear that FUCK YEAH every time this song plays. Fucking classic.
It happens… lol
Effortless style. Marks always been one of my favs. Still have the yellow vhs from when this came out.
this video kept me motivated when I started skating again at 30. 9 year layoff
Nice dude, I started back at 31, 15 year lay off!
man the memories of watching this on VHS with my buddies the good old days man amazing part amazing video.
One of the Best parts ever
2:00 "FUCK YEAH"
Just saw Placebo perform and they didn't play this song so I'm having to go down memory lane, thank you youtube.
Great part
hell yeah this part is the best
🥹🥹🥹 i miss skating i remember when this Sorry Flip movie came out we used to luv this song (i still like it)..it makes me want to skate.
been my favorite part for ten fuckin years now!! favorite song as well!! this part never gets old and reminds me how much I love skateboarding!!!! Fuckin miss this era of skateboarding!
was forsure the best era of skating.
I can't believe this was 13 years ago.
Make that 19 😿
Almost 20 😭
I can't even imagine being this good, let alone at the turn of the millennia. I think the kickflip back lip in Miami was my fav clip.
This part and really sorry are my two favorite parts
Had this flip sorry on VHS 😅 good old times. Btw this song is still on my spotify list because of this clip
10 years later I still have trouble understanding how that nollie flip got on top of the clipper ledge....
And now it's 19 years later, sick ender!
Lol, and I still don't understand.
Boy got pop!
This part is bloody monumental.. even 22 years later.

Same thing with me, the sorry videos got me into skating when I was younger and I never seen any video as great as these
if you listen close, the editor has 90% of the shots that when mark lands, it syncs with the snare drum the song playing in the background (every me every you - placebo) .... cool
Never noticed this till now but your 100% right
Way ahead of his time, timeless style
Still my favorite part in the video..applesauce putting it down! Good song choice too
Still watching marks part in 2024. Might be my favorite video part of anyone ever. the song, tricks, and steez. Maybe skate one day 🤟 . whole vid is great but this part was on repeat.
Watched this when I was 8-9 still love it at 28 that says something
Best times in my life… never knew it would come to an end. Skating in the late 90’s early 00’s with the whole krew… fucking priceless. The new gen just don’t know…. Golden years of skating it’ll never be the same.
i would watch a part like this over a new part anyday
wow some of these tricks are unreal
I remember, this was the first video I've ever bought when I've started skateing together with Really Sorry because they were in the same dvd.
Kinda legendary Fred.
Same here man
Good lord I can't believe this part is almost 20 years old...gahd I feel old
Damn fucking crazy nice years! That guy....That guy....That style...Paul i dont kno why you and not Mark...
You got the best filming Fred! Superb.
Thanks for uploading.
That nollie crook at 0:56 is SO clean
it started with music....but i never thought we'd be saying the same thing about our beloved skate videos!! straight to web videos aren't nearly as ill as these were.... :(
right? going to the skate store and buying it was way more fun. It ain't the same anymore
also non vx footage looks bad it's too wide looking, filmers zoom in too much so the top of the skaters body is cut off, and don't get me started on go pro footage. I prefer iphone footage to anything except vx footage.
The boardslide at 1:43 so clean, smooth, fluid.
Fuck yeah ! I was a kid watching this and discovering artists like placebo it was a double prize !
Priceless for sure 👌
Also, probably the greatest part. LUV IT
this part is 10 years old and its still amazing
Make it 20 by now, and still amazing!
Used to skate with Mark at Beasley when I was younger! One of the best skaters out there :)
Kinda HISTORY of Skateboarding.
that HISTORICAL PURISM of skateboarding
Thank god Appleyard's friend gave him the soundtrack to 'Cruel Intentions' !
This came out in autumn 2002 oh yeah 11 yrs
2020 - There are "professional" skateboarders that couldn't top this video part out there today. A few of the "newer" guys on Baker (Not to mention any names). This part is what PROFESSIONAL skateboarding was about and always should be about. Keep on killin it Apples!
was that johnny rotten at the beginning? :D
placebo - every you every me
Those were actually Circa's. He rode for them at that time.
Met him at the LONG BEACH court house SKATING/filming around 2002_2003
• cool az dude
still watching this in 2023
wtf! he bonked the rail on that kickflip front crook haha, this is so old, so good!
I'm sorry you feel that way.
Have fun living a mediocre joyless life like everyone else ends up doing.
This was 11 years ago? son of a fuck
12 years ago even. weird to think the 80's weren't 20 years ago any more. and 1970 was 44 years ago. it's going too fast.
Haha yeah, i remember my brother bought the vhs, i watched it over and over again, those where good times man!
19 years now bro
I loved how there was barely any slow motion in this video. Hardcore
quality is hella nice O.O
Thanks for this.....
its funny how the sound here is better than in the thrasher classics upload
the kickflip front crook on UC Davis rail was nuts!
did it bounce off the rail before he caught it?!
like he is on his way to the office, smooth operator !!
stoked i had this board
best skatepart ever. i fucking love his style. Everthing looks so unreal effortless. And the song....❤ and please, can we talk about that treflip at 2:57?
1:21 salad 180 then switch salad 180..I crapped myself when I first saw that
@johnnnD feeling is mutual for me,, grew up with this video !!
This Song
idk how many times I've seen this
4:31 French Fred getting roasted lmao.
one of the best
that smith at 1:55 was the trick that caused Applebutter the most problems. took a shit ton of tries. hence the "FUCK YEAH"
love this shred on
didnt fred also direct es menikmati? cause both of them are my favorites.
man I had this shit on HEAVY rotation as a kid.
P-Rod on whiskey ginger podcast brought me here.
….. in all fairness, Fred DID have a pretty gay outfit on. That boy ain’t right.
sooo goood!
And I wish he was on emerica
circa had such a raw team at that time though. declined over time but back then? muska, thomas, appleyard, lopez, chris cole? they were a top tier core brand. I wanted their shoes but just never copped
Makes no sense. Emerica was all tight jean emo kids doing handrails left and right. Circa is all around bad ass and even back then had a diverse team.
Javascript Kiddie emerica has always been sick...circa did like one video...they were sick but come on emerica always rips
wtf does that have to do with image
learn to read next time you fucking dumb ass
Imagine being that good at skate
And what a part
what's the name of this song??
Just to let everyone know how good vx cameras were for skateboarding, this video part would not have had the same lasting impact if it had been filmed in hd. And it's because hd footage is too wide and too short height wise.
Half cab heel tailslide right at the beginning..omg
That varial heel at 4:02 is so fucking sick tho.
Still makes me wanna go shred.
Ok it looked like he was talking to mee
song name?
Damn, back when baggy pants were cool! :)
Intrepid Bogard its cool again
Ah..to saari crooked grind that ledge @ 1:21!!!
