My husband and I once went into a restaurant at 2:20pm, not realizing they closed at 2:30pm (primarily breakfast food, which should've been our clue, but we were oblivious). At some point, I asked for another side, and the waitress said "let me ask our cook if the grill is still on".... which made me finally notice we were the only customers, and other waitresses were putting away salt shakers and such. Which is when I asked what time do you close. We had stayed past closing!! I was mortified, we apologized, asked for to-go boxes, and tipped 100% of the bill and apologized some more. They were all very sweet, and we've now become regulars(AND we know what time they close now...lol)
I’ve worked as a server before. It’s not that serious. We have to clean and roll silver anyways after the restaurant closing so a customer staying 20 minutes past closing time isn’t a big deal but that’s sweet you were mindful.
Honestly I worked in a restaurant as a host and it pissed me off that people were allowed to book reservations for 9:00 pm when the kitchen closes at 9:00 pm. I always felt like shit when people did and they came in and I had to say "just so you know our kitchen is closing soon so you'll have to order right away". Like WTF managers shouldn't let people book reservations online at literally the time the kitchen shuts down if the kitchen closes at 9:00 make the latest reservation 8:30
I worked at a grocery store when I was 19. My first job. I had agreed work extra hours one Saturday. I had been there from seven in the morning, and we were closing at nine at night. I was so tired. As we were locking up this woman, who was a regular customer, showed up and said she just need three items and she would be really quick. The manager was like okay, go ahead. 45 minutes later, she had a cart overflowing with items. She had done her shopping for the week, knowing we were waiting to go home. As I was ringing up her items, she stopped and told me I had charged her two dollars too much for the sugar and it was on sale. I explained the sale had ended the day before and she had a tantrum. She called me petty. She called the manager an asshole. She was totally insane. She said she would call first thing Monday and tell the owner how horrible we were. Well, the manager told the owner on Sunday what had happened and sure enough, first thing Monday, the woman calls and tells him we were rude and horrible to her. The owner was like, "Actually, they went above and beyond to help you. They were tired and wanted to go home. You lead them to believe you needed just a few items and did your weekly shopping. By the time they closed out after you left, they had been here an hour past when they should have been off. They were in the right not to give you a discount on an item that was no longer on sale, and I assure you, we will never again stay past closing to assist you." She said she would go to another store, and we welcomed her to do so. She was back the next week, during regular hours, but she was rude to everyone. The bag boy purposely stacked canned goods on top of her bread.
We had a regular customer who would come every week, 5 minutes before closing, sometimes sneaking in minutes after, and do her weekly grocery shopping. Sometimes two cart loads. Then she'd pay with a stale-dated paycheck from her husband's company. She got away with it because her husband and our store manager were friends. And she knew what she was doing, because she'd come in and look around to see if anyone was watching out for her. And she was always drunk, too. What she was doing was telling her husband she was going grocery shopping, but instead, would go to the bar right up until we closed. Then she'd do her shopping at closing, go home with a car full of groceries, and say, "See? I was at the supermarket all night shopping." When that store manager transferred to another store, we started turning her away.
If I was the owner I would have told her she was no longer welcome in my store for the way she treated my employees. I would have dealt with her being rude enough to do her weekly shopping after you closed but not the way she treated you. Employees do not deserve to be treated that way. Especially not when the customers already in the wrong. Had she been polite I would have told her we're not doing that for her again but since she wasn't I would definitely have told her she's not welcome anymore. She would not be doing her weekly shopping in my grocery store.
I was a manager at a clothing store & we’d come in early on Tuesdays & Fridays to put out new items. We have to scan each box & count the items first so our stock would match up. We didn’t open til 9am but this lady was going to break the door if she didn’t stop. I went over & explained it was only 8:37am & she needed to wait. She got mad saying there was 4 people standing around so we needed to do our jobs & let her in. She pushed past me & grabbed some of the new items that hadn’t been checked in yet that were on the counter. I told her she needed to come back at 9am & those items would be ready for sale by then. After some words & nasty comments……..she finally went to wait outside slamming the door behind her at 8:56am. I locked the door & called the district manager. Yelling at me is one thing, but calling my young employees names because they were doing their jobs was too far. We decided to ban her from our store & all other locations. At 9:06 she’s banging on the door again demanding to be let in. I walked up to her with a huge smile & told her I wasn’t unlocking the door until she left the property because she was no longer welcome. She started yelling that she would call my manager. I told her to go ahead & call her while holding a post-it up to the door with the bosses number. She was so smug when she dialed that number. Lol. Her shriek let me know the moment she was informed that she was unwelcome in every store in that district.
Those people who ran up an $80 dollar bill and didn't tip because the server who didn't say Happy Mother's Day are nuts! When I was a waitress, we were actually told NOT to say that on Mother's (or Father's) Day unless the party said something obvious, like, "My wonderful children/husband are taking me out for Mother's Day!" Reason for the policy? Because people are (understandably) sensitive about conventional versus unconventional family structures and whether or not they have kids. You say Happy Mother's Day to everyone, one table appreciates it, but the lady at the next table you say it to bursts into tears because she can't have kids (yes, that happened). It sounds like a simple greeting on a holiday, but it's a landmine!
Well perhaps they shouldn't be listening to what the waiter or waitress is saying to another table? This is why I won't ever support a business that orders staff to say Happy Holidays instead of Happy Christmas.
@@the_once-and-future_king. Where did you get the idea that the issue was what was said to customers at another table? The issue is that servers can't read minds and therefore use the same holiday greeting with everyone, which can lead to some very uncomfortable situations, especially with things like Mother's/Father's Day. Also no one says "Happy Christmas", but I'm sure if you only visit establishments thst have the servers greet you with "Happy Christmas" that would be a great gift to all servers :)
@@creativedesignation7880 It literally says in the post 'the person at the next table'. I happen to really appreciate wait staff. They work shitty hours for not much pay. I have the issue with owners that impose restrictions on what greetings are acceptable.
I remember when I worked at a Barnes and Noble, the managers DID NOT play when it came to getting customers out at closing. We closed at midnight, and the managers would make the closing announcements at 11, 11:30, 11:45 and 11:55. The final announcement would be at midnight, instructing customers to exit the store. If customers had merchandise in their hands or baskets when the clock struck 12, they had no choice but to leave it behind and come back another time because the registers automatically shut down at 12.
This. Working at book stores where people might need help with decisions we would have closing announcements 20 and 5mins ahead. And the 20min call would get everyone to walk up to people and ask them if they needed something specific. I can't try to find "that blue book by a Spanish author" with 5mins left on the clock! Also we don't get paid past o'clock so please LEAVE!
I’ve been in Dollar Tree when they announce 30 mins prior they’re closing in 30. And again at 20, 15, 10 and 5! Then they’ll announce they will be turning off the register in 5 and locking the doors. lol They stop being paid at closing! On the dot too! They don’t get paid after 9pm. So I’m convinced they’ll leave your ass locked in that store lol When I worked at a Bank in the 90’s. The bank closed at 3:00pm We stopped getting paid at 3! That angered me because we would lock the door after the last customer at 3! Then have HAVE to do minimum 15-20 mins more work to balance our drawers and such. With no pay! So if you’re in a place where the employees are closing up 30-20 mins before? I promise it’s because they stop being paid the second that door is locked! This should be illegal!
I am the same where I work, I tell them flat out that I am about to close. We have a strict alarm company that means we have to be out and the alarm on 15mins after closing or the alarm company calls us to make sure everything is ok. I work at a service station and this is for our security. I won't let people into the store before opening time either because even though I am in the store 15 mins before opening to set it up, I don't get paid until dead on opening time.
I'm old. It didn't used to be like that. I literally got fired when I was young and worked in a magazine store. A women forced her way into the store, and I was counting the register for the beginning of the shift. I was actually very polite considering, but asked her to please wait outside until we opened. She knew the boss, and he fired me. I have also worked in many places, where you can't get people out on time, at the end of the day. Especially clothes retail, where they come rampaging in and messing up your tidy store, like some kind of Hanna Barbera cartoon.
We had one of those Karens come in one day, she would accuse me of stealing from her and her kids because she knows that I was the one who put up the new price tags every month. Then she started to do it publicly, loud and in front of other customers waiting in line. I told my manager about it and next time she came in he blew up on her in front of other customers. He was the kindest most generous guy I had ever met and he was very soft spoken so it was very unexpected when I heard him raise his voice. He told her "No one working in this store makes the prices. If you have a legitimate concern to call corporate and complain about it there. You can either stop harassing my employees about it while in my store or don't come back!" She stopped. She came back regularly and muttered something under her breathe every time, just as she picked up her bags to leave, something about "treatment not being right". It was a welcomed changed to me so I just smiled and told her to "have a nice day" as I always did.
Anybody who has worked in a customer service job will have stories for days. I remember a manager dealing with a woman who parked in a handicapped spot because she was "just running in to grab a couple of things. What's the big deal?" She refused to move her car, the manager told her he was refusing her service and she had to leave. She then punched the guy in the mouth, giving him a fat lip before storming out of the store. The manager called the police, another employee had got her license plate and she was arrested for assault. Her defense was "That guy was rude to me!"
I do not have a handicap placard to hang on my mirror. But as a service connected disabled veteran with a walking impairment, my state issues me DAV plates which are handicapped license plates. To get those plates I have to present a letter from the VA confirming my injuries. These plates allow me to park in handicapped spot, exempt from paying meters and exempt from parking time limits. I have stopped counting the number of times I have been scolded for parking in a handicapped spot. Most of the most it's before I get out of the car or a few seconds after. I'm threatened with having the police called, being issued a ticket and having my car towed. People think the only handicapped indicator is the placard that hangs from the mirror. The best one to date was when I parked in a handicap spot at Walmart. I get out of the car and instantly have a Karen scolding and berating me. Come the threats of calling the police, having them issue me a ticket, tow my car. My wife got out of the car and kept telling the Karen my license plates were my handicap placard to no avail. The Karen keeps yelling and screaming and making threats as she was toward Walmart and customer service, with my wife right on her heals. I catch up and find them both at customer service with the Karen still throwing a fit and demanding Walmart have my car towed. Wife explains to Walmart manager asked my wife what was going on and my wife explained my license plates. The Karen still throwing a fit. Manager asked my wife where I was and she pointed at me. Manager asked me about my license plates and I handed him the paper from the DMV that explained my license plates and the benefits of the plates. Manager read it over the screaming Karen, looked her in the eye and told her to fuck off..
When the entitled customer left their laptop, the manager should have assumed it was forgotten, locked it in the office, and given the table to paying customers. 😆
Who would LEAVE something as valuable as a laptop, just lying around like a cheap scarf or towel that you reserve your spot at the beach with? That is so wild!
@@Scarlett.Granger Depends on the location/surroundings. I've left my laptop at a table before, when I needed to go to the bathroom for example (too cumbersome to take it with me for those few minutes). But I would only ever do that in trustworthy places with small number of guests and where someone walking past outside wouldn't be able to see the empty table with laptop.
I worked for a sporting goods chain in the Northeast US. There were only 2 of us on shift (I was a manager) when I was waiting on a really nice guy looking for running shoes. It's important to the story that this man had only one leg.. A female customer came in and was browsing the shoe wall. Both customers chose their shoes and I brought them out (I typically waited on 2 - 3 customers at once). My male customer loved the shoes but they were a little expensive. Being a manager I had quite a bit of authority so I offered him a discount. Karen heard this and demanded that she get a discount as well. I asked her why she thought she should and she said because he was. I looked her straight in the eye, turned to my male customer and said: "Sir, since you only need one shoe from the pair I'm going to ring this up as a 50% off damaged item and I'll send the one you don't need back with a damaged tag on it." Karen nearly hit the ceiling...she starts gearing up for a screech-a-thon when I informed her that when she loses a leg I'll be happy to give her a discount. She never even saw the guy's prosthetic leg (he was wearing shorts, everyone saw it!). She stormed out with no purchases and no apology. After she left...I gave the male customer the running shoe for free and sent the other one back as "missing shoe" 😅
Worked at a restaurant on the beach years ago. I'm stationed on the outside deck on a Saturday--it's crazy busy. Karen comes walking up the emergency staircase and demands I let her come in (with her dog) and I told her that the door really WAS alarmed and that she'd have to go around, but leave her dog. She said, "But I will be sitting outside!" I told her it was a health code violation to have the dog, and SHE. WAS. PISSED! Turns out she sat in my section (damn!) and proceeded to send back food and drinks not once, but 2-3 times. Super snarky. The dude she was with said nothing, of course. So I'm bringing out a NEW drink for the princess when a flock of seagulls flies over and practically shits themselves to death. The first bomb landed 3 feet in front of me. The rest? boom, boom, boom, boom, all up the right side of her..she was COVERED in seagull toxic waste...it was everywhere....her food, her hair (LOL)! And the best part? This all happened RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! People...if you ever doubt that karma exists? Order a seagull. They deliver.
Isn't it nice when you get to see karma in action right before your very eyes? I can't think of anyone else who deserved that seagull shit storm more... *and* you got to witness it first hand, out of the drop zone!
For nearly 14 years I worked as a deli manager for a big supermarket chain. Entitled customers were an everyday thing and for the most part, more annoying than malicious but there are a few I'll never forget. One Karen used to come in and demand that we slice her salami fresh and as thin as possible in the rudest way possible and I never once heard her say thank you. It also had to be stacked exactly one slice on top of the next as she believed this would keep it fresh. We had to show her the first slice until we got it exactly how she wanted it, and then show her again how we'd stacked it. The problem with her so-thin-it's-almost-see-through salami is that once you stack it, that stuff is so delicate you'd never be able to separate it without breaking it. I don't know how she never complained about it. Maybe she liked sitting there with a stack of salami, picking tiny shreds off it. Who knows. But my petty self always made sure to press extra hard on the stack when I was wrapping it.
I worked in a deli and I remember a customer who would ask for 500 grams of SHREDDED head cheese every time she came in. Not shaved, but shredded into basically dust. So just imagine how long it took to get 500 grams of gross head cheese powder, and how disgusting the slicer looked afterwards. I'd have to take the slicer apart and wash it every time. I hated it. I also remember a guy come in SCREAMING about how his roast beef slices were moldy. So I looked at the date on the bag and it was from weeks ago. 🤢 I told him it only lasts 4-5 days in the fridge, but because there's no expiry date on freshly sliced deli meat he said he had no way of knowing that and demanded it be replaced. The manager actually gave it to him too and I had to be the one to serve him.
This is another reason why I don't work in the food service industry. One guy came in regularly. And, every time he came in, he complained. He'd complain about the food, the prices, the employees. One day, he came in with his daughter. He told her to get what she wanted. She got a meal with baked beans as one of her sides. I packed in their exact order in a minute tops. He looked in and saw the baked beans. He said, "I didn't order baked beans." His daughter said, "I did." Again, he looked in the bag and said more forcefully, "I didn't order baked beans." His poor daughter was so embarrassed as she said louder, "Dad, I ordered the beans!" He grabbed the food, turned around and said to the customers behind him, "Bad service". Truth is, I've never ever messed up his order. Of course, the people behind him thought he was being ridiculous.
I work at a Tim Hortons and EVERY TIME the price of coffee goes up, there's at least one Karen who complains that no one told them the prices were increasing, and they shouldn't have to pay more/get a different size when they didn't bring extra change. Like, dude, no one told me prices were going up either, and I'm sure as hell not making any more from it.
Tell all of them a long tale about prizes aren't going up but the value of their money goes down so their 10 pence is only worth 8 pence now, and whatsoever. If they're to confused to complain it usually does the trick. Bonus points if you can blame it on the government xD
I used to go to McDonald's Cafe and they had this sale buy a cappuccino and pastry for 1 euro... cappuccino was 1.40. Karen wanted only a cappuccino and complained about getting a free pastry. She held the line up and I was late for class.
"No one told me your coffee prices were going up!" "What, you didn't see it in the paper? On the news? You didn't get the carrier pigeon with the super important information that Tim Hortons were increasing their coffee prices? My God, I'm so sorry!"
This happens at Starbucks!! I feel bad when it’s a regular who brings exact change every day, but like we don’t know that the prices increased overnight until we ring something up and notice it seems more expensive.. so when the Karens come a-callin’, i just tell them too bad, just go down a size ahahaha
about two years ago I worked in a supermarket. We closed at 9pm. The supermarket also has a post-office (which was at the left side of the service desk) which closes at 6pm. So one day I was working at the Service desk, minding my own business and this lady (45-50) comes in heading straight for the post office. It was about 8pm so I said the post was already closed. This happened all the time. Somehow people assumed that the post office also stays open until 9pm although there were signs everywhere. At the entrance doors, on Google etc. But we got used to the confusion and just told the customers that it's already closed and that usually did the deal. There was a bit of arguing from time to time, but nothing major. But this lady. This lady didn't accept it. She said that I have to take her parcel because I'm standing right there. I told her multiple times that I'm A) not trained for the post office, B) Not allowed to touch anything there and C) didn't even have a key for the doors etc. She than went on a rant about how this parcel is super important and that it has to go into delivery TODAY. I said to her that that is not possible, not only because I can't and am not allowed to accept it, the last emptying was at 6pm so there was NO WAY the parcel would be on the road that night. She still wouldn't have it. When she first approached, I had no customers, but that of course changed because it was a Saturday evening at about 8.20pm and EVERYTHING is closed on Sundays. So a lot of people get the last emergency things. And at the Service desk, we don't only do returns, we also (and mostly) sell cigarettes and Lottery tickets. So its ALWAYS busy between 8 and 9pm. My customers then tried to talk to her (she was getting quite red now) but without any luck. And now my favourite part. She suddenly demanded me to take the parcel and deliver it myself. That night. With my own car. A) No, B) Hell no, C) itd be an 4hour drive and D) Still no f***ing way. Eventually we called the police because she wouldn't leave after we (my manager came about 1min before we called the police) told her so. Luckily (for us) she pulled down her mask and screamed at the police officers so they had a field day with her. So just because someone in customer service does not have anything in their OWN field to do for a second, doesn't mean that they can jump in any other field. Imagine asking a accountant who has one second of breathing time to work in marketing. Thats not how it works. Also: let those people breath for a second. Trust me, they usually don't even have time for that. So yeah, that's that.... I have a million other stories especially from the pandemic. Death threats against us were quite popular 😂
The Mother's Day thing pisses me off, anyway, since I hate when strangers say it or are expected to say it. Personally, if I don't know someone's specific circumstances, I DON'T say Happy Mother's Day. Some women don't have children by choice and some women may have struggled with infertility or miscarriages.
Yeah only time I would use it is if we’re going to an event specific to Mother’s Day aka a Mother’s Day brunch/dinner. And even then I Wouldn’t EXPECT IT!
Yeah, I'm childfree by choice and I always feel super awkward when people wish me a happy mother's day. Like, it's not my holiday and I really don't want it to be 😂 Especially the people who see that I have pets and wish me a happy mother's day because "you're a pet parent!" No. Just. No. I love and spoil my pets, but they're not children.
My fiance and the love of my life died unexpectedly at age 32 in 1989, on Mother's Day. That day has had a sad feeling for me ever since. It's ridiculous that anyone would expect a server to spout that trite phrase in order to get the payment they deserve for services rendered.
One night a customer complained to me about how I overcharged him on an item. Normally I just nod and smile in robot mode but this had been a particularly long day for me. I told him "Oh yes, the moment I saw you walk in the door, I reprogrammed all the cash registers in the store to charge you the wrong price." He said "You are rude" I said " I know, so are you buying it?" After getting someone to do a price check, turns out he was looking at the price of the item beside it.
The worst is that you have to show them that 1+1=2 in these scenarios. They always try to make it look like it's the store's fault so they can get the item at a discounted price.
The St Louis customer who posted false information about the restaurant on Instagram as soon as she was rejected was probably the worst customerzilla in this video , the second being the "happy mother's day" woman . Did the mother's day zilla pause to think that the waiter could be a mother too ? Anyway , happy that Charlotte is just 48k short of breaching the 1 million subscriber mark 🙂 .
Or that mothers day could be incredibly triggering for them or other customers? They dont know if the entitled person has kids or not, it would have been worse in my opinion to say happy mothers day to someone who is not a mother, or is struggling to be a mother etc than to just not say anything. It's not like it's a public holiday that everyone gets to celebrate. (New mum here and definitely wouldn't expect anyone except my partner to say happy mothers day lol)
Giving into a Karen’s request is like feeding wild animals in Yosemite…. Don’t do it! They will learn they can get away with it and when you stop feeding them they get mad because they have come to expect it.
I once had a cruise line guest tell me she was angry with a server because she had asked the server for a napkin or something and, when she received it, she said "thank you" to the server and the server had said "you're welcome " back to her. I asked her what the server should have said because that seemed like an appropriate exchange. The guest said "She should have said "NO! Thank YOU!" Because I am a patron at their restaurant." Massive eye roll. 🙄
Yes because as a server who’s struggling to make ends meet I’m going to thank an entitled customer for what? Existing? Like honey you know I’m not getting most of if any of that bill. Why do you think tipping exists?
Well, if we're gonna get technical here... You should have told her that the establishment doesn't belong to the server, and therefore, she does not have to thank her for her service to the establishment. Then, you would kindly inform the customer that the appropriate response to the words "thank you" are "you're welcome" in this modern day, and maybe spin a tale about how normally the server is a bit disconnected or not to enthusiastic most days and that this was a big step in her normal attitude. Although lying is generally frowned upon, so obviously, at your own discretion.
My ex has worked at Disneyland for over 40 years. They are not allowed to say, "You're welcome" to a guest, and they will be reprimanded if they do. Saying "No problem" is worse and could get them fired. The response they are required to give is, "It was my pleasure." 🙄
My dad always thought Alex Trebek personally wrote all the questions for Jeopardy and purposely made them difficult to make my dad look dumb. So no, I'm not surprised people think the employees set the prices in stores because stupid is everywhere. 🤦🏼♀️
I’m not sure this story counts, but I think about it often. I used to work at a sandwich shop that shared a building with a Starbucks. Their drive through was right next to our entrance. On one of the holidays when Starbucks was closed and we were open, this older woman tried going through the drive through, realizing a few minutes of waiting later that they were closed. She aggressively reversed to leave, swerving and crashing her car straight into our shop. And when I say in, I literally mean into the middle of the shop since the front wall was made entirely of glass. When the police came, she had the audacity to say that it wasn’t her fault and that Starbucks should be charged because they weren’t open when they should’ve been 😂 it’s been almost ten years and I still have the video from the cameras on my phone
Just recently we had a huge group (240 persons) celebrate their college reunion (commerce majors) in our restaurant at our second floor function hall. They had booked us from 10am to 3pm - lunch with a short program. I had been coordinating with the people in charge for weeks and have repeated several times that our operating hours were from 10am to 10pm. I also asked how they would like to have their tables arranged and whatnot, all the standard questions for events. Due to Covid the restaurant had to downsize on staff so considering the size of the group, we had to close the restaurant to other dine in customers until about 4 to be able to properly serve them. On the day of the event, some people arrived at 8:00am and complained to 4 kitchen staff arriving earlier than usual to prep for the event about why they couldn't enter the establishment. Our staff usually arrive at 9am to prep the restaurant for opening. Then one of the organizers complained that there wasn't a registration table ready. Well maybe we would have prepared one, if they requested it during all the times I had spoken to them. Nevertheless, we allowed the early birds entrance when the staff began arriving at 9 and we also fixed the table snafu. Already, it seems like we've got some pretty demanding and entitled people on our hands. If that wasn't enough, the worse part was that one of the organizers tried to sneak in a separate event for FREE. We found this out when people started arriving and asking about where the venue for a seminar was. I was like what seminar? Then they proceeded to show me the email flyer they received. And while we were indeed named as the venue, We had no idea about a seminar and we already had a 90th birthday party booked for 5pm. The organizer thought he could use the space and tables for free for his seminar since he assumed we wouldn't have any other reservations for the day and the tables and venue was set up already anyway. OH MY GOD! Who does that? Talk about entitled!
The pharmacy one hit home. I worked in a pharmacy back in the early 2000s. One night we had a middle aged male customer demand we give him diabetic test strips for a meter that had been discontinued. Those particular strips had been discontinued as well. The pharmacist was explaining that we no longer stocked those and offered an alternative. He kept demanding we give him those specific strips. He escalated into saying we were trying to kill him by not giving his strips. He also asked what we going to do at his funeral. The manager had to tell the man to leave. Once he was gone the pharmacist turns tonus and said he was going to clap at his funeral
Oh man. I worked in a drugstore, where you can print your photos on your own. It's in a small Mall and on the same floor is another drugstore with the same printer but with a slightly higher price. Like it cost 32 cents in the other store and cost 29 cents in mine. So there was this quite young girl, probably around 23-24, who was outraged that she printed her photos in the other store and obviously paid more for them, and it was somehow our fault. Girlfriend literally wanted us to pay her "back" the difference in our store or go to the other and get her the money.... I think about her sometimes, how's her life going..
I used to meal prep … when I first started I would take orders through DM on Instagram, one time this lady asked for pad thai. I said we didn’t have pad thai on the menu , she insisted we did and that she wanted two orders of pad thai 😂 I kept saying telling her we didn’t have it. She went and tagged us on her Instagram story saying we were a terrible meal prep company because we didn’t want to make our customers happy and serve them what they wanted . Some of her followers ended up following us and became our customers. Thanks Karen !!
I worked at a Culver's in high school and a couple came in 30 minutes prior to close, ordered a custard, and started setting up a monopoly board in one of our booths. The manager ended up having to interrupt their game and ask them to leave.
Years ago my family and I, there were 12 of us in total, were on holiday in Superior, Wisconsin and went into a restaurant for supper. There was a huge storm going on but when we found out they were 5 minutes from closing we apologized and were going to go somewhere else. The waitress assured us that it was fine, it was storming so we could stay and eat. She was an amazing waitress, and since the food was very low price we all gave her tips. Turned out after we all paid she ended up getting an approx 75% tip. We joked with her, made her laugh and even though she stayed an extra hour past closing told us we were the best customers she'd ever had. That was one of the funnest restaurant experiences I've ever had and we all still talk about it to this day.
Short story for y'all: I worked front desk at a gym with a pool for about a year. We had a fluctuating number of life guards due to school/scheduling and low staffing in general. This one older lady would consistently come in every other day for the heated pool and complain that both sides of the pool were not open and she would have to 'share' space. Per my customer service programming, I apologized and explained we didn't have enough life guards. She suggested that I should go and life guard so that she can swim. I said, "Sorry, I don't know how to swim so that may be a little difficult besides, I need to be here to check you and everyone else in." She told me I should learn and go life guard for her. I thought she was joking so I laughed a little bit. She wasn't.
Usually, I don't growl about old people, they have won the right to be annoying due to their long life, but sometimes they REALLY need a kick in the *ss !
I don't agree that a long life gives you the right to be rude. Just because you're old, doesn't mean that the people around you don't have feelings anymore. Or that what you say doesn't hurt. I have this argument with my fiance often🤦🏼♀️
@@ashleighharrison9193 Right! I'm old now, and have some health problems so often I don't feels so well. However, I haven't forgotten what it was like to be a worker in a service industry, so I am polite to those who help me and tell them that their efforts are appreciated. Back when I worked at a fabric store, it wasn't the older people who were pains in the a$$ so much, the worst customers were the youngish mothers who brought in their passel of brats who would swing on bolts of cloth like monkeys, and make a huge mess of bins while Mom ignored their horrible behavior. Then, if they did decide to make a purchase, they would buy maybe a yard of fabric but ask me to cut at least a 1/4 yard extra "since it would shrink after washing". Sure, I can cut an extra 1/4 yard, but you'll be charged for that extra. That's when their very entitled Karen heads would explode! Meanwhile, their crotch goblins are ruining fabric with their filthy sticky hands. Daily I would find wads of gum stuck to fabric, and packages of notions ripped open and strewn on the floor. I typically loved waiting on the sweet older ladies because, being an avid sewist myself, I loved hearing them describe their projects. Especially when they stopped by later to show what they made.
I'm a Christian but I HATED waiting on the Sunday church crowd. So snotty. One woman looked at me like I was vermin because I was working on Sunday. I thought, "I have to work because you're coming in after church to eat here." I was very tempted to tell her, "The Sabbath isn't on Sunday. It's on Saturday, so take your holier-than-thou attitude home and cook your own food." I held my tongue though. People like them are a big reason why many others look down on Christians. We all don't act like that. That's why I held my tongue. Telling her off would make me no better than her. I had more fun waiting on the Friday night drunk crowd. They were so happy to get food and smiled and thanked me for waiting on them.
Exactly we ran a donut bagels and coffee for the after church crowd. Run by the youth and for the youth group. Can’t begin to explain the rude treatment. One even went crazy because she was given two nickels because we ran out of dimes.
As someone who has both worked retail/ customer jobs, and has owned 2 small businesses...one being a current one..I can honestly say the entitlement to free stuff and/or discounts is unreal. I see it more now being a business owner than I didnt when i was working for someone. And it's the most frustrating and sickening thing to experience. It's basically insulting to ask a small business for free stuff or services. As if they dont have bills of their own to pay or as if their time is not valuable enough to be paid for. I know im not the only one who experiences this sense of entitlement. Which brings me some comfort. However, as someone who doesnt expect handouts it still grinds my gears to be approached by entitled moochers who think they are entitled to whatever they want. I would rather support a small business over big corporations. But it seems like these people target small businesses for free stuff more than chain businesses.
I think part of the reason is because chain restaurants have clearly outlined policies that are distributed nation-wide. Some tips to avoid getting entitlement would be to put up a sign saying “we have the right to refuse service” if your brick and mortar and online having a section with clear policies outlining policies and what is and isn’t accepted. It won’t completely deter entitled moochers but at least it’ll make it easier to point to that info in your store or online as reasoning why.
100% agree with you. I would understand if it was a temporary promotion or a deal that if you spend X amount, you get Y item either at a discount or, depending on how small it is, free. Problem is, people are much too used to being able to get their way.
just say very loud "sorry you're so poor you've reduced yourself to beg, but no, this isn't a charity" - they'll be livid; they're usually people who care about appearances
Start telling the moochers "Sorry, Corporate won't allow us to do that." Even though corporate is you and headquarters is wherever you're standing at the moment.
I work in a store as a cashier and one of my biggest pet peeves is when a customer will come in 5 minutes before closing just to browse. I understand needing to run in and grab something quick but the front end people can’t leave until all of the customers are gone. We’ve had people come in just before closing and stay for an hour and then get mad when we remind them that we’re closed. We’re not robots. We’re tired and want to go home but instead we have to wait for you. 🙄
I used to do alternative social service when younger, what we in Germany call "Zivildienst" (as explanation: At that time in Germany as a young man you got to choose if you do 6 months army duty or 9 month alternative service). I was working in a hospital (I was not medical staff, I was more assisting and was taught a few rules how things are going) and we had a lot of entitled patients there. We had a policy in our medical ward: If you had anesthesia and you remain in hospital you remain 1 hour after the medical in the wake up room until you can picked up by a nurse. If you go home you have to stay 2 hours and get picked up either by the hospital staff to the taxi or by a relative. And you are not allowed to do anything important afterwards, like buying cars, having appointments. You should relax until the next day. So one patient thought it is not for him. When I told him the time when he can leave he said "But I have an appointment [time]. I have to be there". Me: "You were told in your interview that you are not allowed to have it. And that your remaining after the hospital is 2 hours." He: "But it was different in the past." (which is true, they changed the times). Me: "But it is that way now." The nurse also confirmed. Later he said: "Can I please get up again? I have to go." Me: "Sorry, it is still [time] until you can leave." Him: "But I have my appointment." I also remember another guy who wanted to be cool and when I and the nurses didn't let them get up too early he said "You know, I know how to open these beds." Me: "Good for you. But I can't let you out."
A student here!.Before covid our school had an event, and that month its an event hosted and organized by our club. Its a pageant that our whole jhs participated in and its an open-gate event(meaning other people/from other school/outsiders can watch) meaning A LOT OF PEOPLE to assist for 1 club + the 20 pageant participants that needed to be told how the event will be and etc. Some participants are part of our friend group or our section's representative, this event last for like a week,+the pageants practice,+the whole organizing meaning all of us are tired but we're also happy because it's a fun event . Since some of them(pageant participants) are the club member's friends, naturally some of them does extra work just to assist and show support for them in a way(like: helping put the dress on,assist or just hype them up.Assisting the participants arent part of our responsibilities) ofc this is a pageant for students, meaning? The parents ARE competitive. So competitive that our club has to put a rule where only a hair dresser,make-up artist, and their parent could enter the respective rooms(some parents even complained that their whole fam can't enter the dressing room, its a shared room maam) aside from a lot of parents shouting at the students at the entrace + kids running around with their parents no where to be seen; The event was a success, no one was injured,no one died,no stage mistakes etc. The club members still needed to clean up after the event and they're the last ones to go home,by the time me and a friend got to the gate(waiting for our service) we talked and talked, the place we are standing on are the only place that still has its lights on(meaning the surroundings are DARK),me and my friend was shock because out of no where a girl pageant participant came out of the dark corner and was MAD. "Didnt you here me?!"(directed to my friend) "I was calling for you! You didn't hear, see and couldnt help me?" "You're a (club name) member and this is your 'assist'???", mind you again IT WAS DARK, WE'RE TALKING AND BOTH OF US HAVE NO 20/20 EYE SIGHT + ITS TIME TO GO HOME and we really didnt hear her . She stomp tf away mad and complaining abt everything and the good thing is we didn't get in trouble much after. Safe to say that was tiring.People are tiring. Salute to those who deals with them everyday.
I worked retail for a short time but never food service. However, I worked in healthcare (x-ray) for 46 years. Imagine all of these people now sick, scared or in pain. The entitled Karen level in hospitals can be off the charts. And it’s usually the ones in the least pain and not very sick. People arriving two hours late for their appointment then furious when they had to wait. As I got older and more jaded I would tell them that I would be happy to work them in after I took care of the people who were on time. Or we would be happy to reschedule them. I was so happy to retire!
Thank you for your service. As a person with a disability, I have spent a good quality of my life in hospitals and I’ve seen how hard people work there. So again thank you!
100 % agree. I went from working in a restaurant (my early 20s) to working in a hospital (mid-20S) to working in a medical laboratory with no patients (current) and I'm so happy now. Some of the patients in the hospital are absolute nightmares. Bless those who work there, I could never go back.
Former server here. One night we had a tropical storm, and because apparently God has a mean sense of humor, we were the only restaurant in the area that had power or wasn't closed. The place filled up within 20 minutes. Kitchen slammed, no way to get to each table in a normal timely manner after being triple+ sat, still had "those" customers who don't know what they want but won't let you get drinks while they decide. Row buddy jumps ship, leaving me with *14* freaking tables, including figuring out what was going on with the ones she left me with. It was insane, beyond stressful, and was literally an anxiety nightmare come true. A few tables complained about the wait, even after being warned about it. I explained to one 8 top over the sound of the landscaping beating against the windows that because of the storm we were swamped, and the "head" guy rolled his eyes and told me that was a lame excuse, then talked shit every time I walked past their table. I thought I did a really good job keeping everyone filled up and happy, but the wait was inevitable and should've been obvious. Plus, they'd been warned at the door and again before ordering! Look around you and use some damn common sense. People can really suck.
When I was a cashier at an upscale grocery store, I met a lot of entitled customers. One time I was closing (just me and the manager) and some lady came in a few minutes before we were set to close at 11. The manager gently reminded her that we were closing soon. She rudely brushed him off and proceeded to very slowly browse for 45 MINUTES. The manager had to remind her again and she yelled at him. She finally came to check out and had a whole litany of complaints about what we had in stock and the prices. I just did not give a fuck at this point and didn't say anything. By the time she left and I counted out my till, it was 12:30 and I had to be at work at 8am the next morning.
@@MultiTintenherz The manager should have kicked her out. Not sure what his hesitation was. The grocery store is located in a very affluent area, a lot of people living in mansions who buy $1,000 worth of groceries in one trip.
@@ziggystarlust I feel like you worked at a Gelsons… their customers are cool but the bad customers are the worst customers. I had one follow me because she felt I didn’t belong there…had the staff and myself thoroughly confused. I was looking for an item for a friend who only got it from there. Never went back.
I'm a bartender at a steak house. I have worked at this restaurant for 12 years, and it's because the owner is amazing! Cares about everyone. I have seen him feed broke and homeless people many times. We are very protective over him and our kitchen manager for this reason and many others. One night we had a lady come in and get a table for two, 10 mins before we closed. She was waiting on her date to get there. She drinks 3 beers. 30 mins after our closing time, he is still not there. We ask how much longer he's gonna be, she doesn't know how much longer, so we politely ask her to call him to see. She says she can't because she doesn't have his number or a phone to call him. The kitchen manager gives her 15 more mins, which would make it an HOUR after we close, after that she doesn't have to leave but he was going to close the kitchen. 30 mins later he's still not there. My boss says it is time for her to pay and leave so the staff can go home. The server takes her the bill for the beers. She whines she doesn't have any money!!! The staff was sooo mad. The manager said she could wait for him until he was done with the paperwork and sent all the staff home. It is now 2 and a half hours after we close. I decided it wasn't such a great idea to leave a female customer alone with my male manager so I stayed in the office with him for a bit then went to watch the super bowl halftime show in the bar area. As I come around the corner, this chick is in my bar helping herself by pouring the crown straight in her mouth.... She didn't see me.. I went to get the manager, who then busted her with the Patron. He is yelling at her saying he is calling the cops. This is when we realized she had a plan. She says go ahead.. she will just tell them that he raped her...and since it was just the two of them it would be her word against his.. she still didn't know I was there... I flew around the corner, saw the look of udder disbelief on his face and then the smirk on her face. I lost it!! I came unglued and this woman!! I was in her face, like nose to nose... My manager ran to get a phone, she decided to try to shove me out of her way.. my manager came back to me dragging this chick by her hair out from behind my bar and towards the front door. I was taking this B@#ch outside to whoop her A$$!! He stopped me.. and made me let her go. He sat her in a booth, sat me a few away and stood there between us until the cops showed up. She went to jail for theft and assault. I got scolded by the cop and at 1 am I finally got to leave, 4 hours after we closed.. The next day the owner surprised me with a free filet meal and a cake. How sweet right!! But y'all he had them put a stick figure dragging another stick figure by her hair!! 🤣🤣🤣
I too saw that! Also, not every woman is a Mother, and the lady who started Mother's Day came to hate the commercialization of it. A server wished her a Happy Mother's Day once and she threw her salad on the floor and left. So....yeah....
I worked at Lowe's. On a Sunday evening we had a woman who came in about 5mins. before closing. She was just wondering around looking. We made multiple announcements that the store was closed but she paid no attention. We had a cashiers meeting that night so we were all waiting for this woman to leave so we could finish pulling the cash registers for the night. She was in our lawn and garden area which was just down the main aisle from the customer service desk. ALL of the cashiers/front end staff came out from the meeting room and were standing at the customer service desk watching this woman. I'm talking 15-20 employees all watching her. She just kept on looking and talking on her phone. Finally the manager told her she needed to check out and leave as the store had been closed for 30mins already. She reluctantly came the register (the customer service register was the only one with money still). All of the cashiers watched as I rang her out. She was definitely embarrassed with all of us watching her. I hope she learned a lesson, but I doubt it.
7:28 - this happened at the restaurant i worked at alllll the time. This one lady, she comes in about 15 minutes to close- our boss tells us we need to seat them. Literally we were vacuuming, cleaning the slicer, etc and closing down for the night around 5 to close bc it takes 10 minutes to do all of that plus drop the deposit after counting the drawers- couldnt even count the drawers bc we're waiting for them to check out. That being said- this couple, i dont think realized we were closed at this point bc they were sitting in the back area and eventually asked for their check 45 minutes AFTER we closed. They said they didnt realize what time it was and left us that stayed a tip that was the price of their meal- so it was a 100% tip. They felt so bad and swore it wasnt on purpose.
🤦🏾♀️ I’m still trying to figure out how a broke person spends $77.90 on one meal and still considers themselves broke. They could’ve bought groceries with that money…ate for days. Well, they’re definitely broke after that meal.
I know a woman that lives above her means. She can’t pay her utility bills, yet she loves to go out to eat at relatively nicer places, claiming that she has an expensive taste. Some people have their priorities all messed up!
i once heard from a woman, she got 30 cents on her bank account and bought a new car for 40k$, credit cards is the secret, her debt is in the 100k she is looking for a husband :)
Entitled Karens should be court ordered to work in retail, hospitality, or wherever their crime of entitled a$$ery was committed. One week *MINIMUM* ....unpaid. 😁
@@LatinaChef1986 Illegal, but I like the way you think. A year, paid a fraction of the base rate for that franchise, and breaks as how they are normally dealt with. Some places require you to take breaks, other places tell you it's your choice to take them or not. Others will also depend on how busy it is and you won't get a break or a lunch if it's too busy, so... "Luck" would have to be on their side. And by that, I mean give them to the busiest restaurant in town and see how they like it.
@@MashuTora it'd not be illegal if you don't call it working but "serving community hours". That is a punishment offered by law in smaller cases like these would probably be, and as it is punishment by law it's not considered work, so..... not paying is allowed 😇
Use to work in a clothing store with the policy that you couldn't ask customers or start shutting down to leave if they were in the store. We had to cash out, vacuum, reorganize the racks and rounders and clean the mirrors it took at minimum an hour to get everything done so we could leave. We had a lady that liked to come in and shop right before the store would close because she "liked to shop when no other customers were there". Then she had us put everything on hold to think about whether or not she wanted to buy them. We loathed her.
I love how all of these reviews start with "I go there all the time and it's usually very awesome. the food is great." and then proceed to give a one star review because they had a "bad" experience because they're super entitled. Like the 50 other times that they went there didn't mean shit, it was only that 1 bad experience that mattered. I'm sorry but if you go to a place 50 times not every one is going to be perfect. Your review should be based on every experience unless it was so egregious as to make it impossible to go back. But you have to be objective about it
@@BoingBB I know several people who will legitimately not leave a review unless the experience was really bad or really good just because it's not worth the effort especially since a lot of places that you leave reviews you have to have an account for the review. These people are just simply entitled enough that they think that they should get things perfectly however they wanted every single time when their expectations are very irrational for legitimate business practices with businesses that want to stay in business.
This is sad but true, and as a former business owner and fellow human being, i think its a terrible attitude: They won't leave a good review because it might cause an increase in business at a place they really like. Such a selfish viewpoint.
ive done this but for good reason. ive taken my dog to a veterinary clinic for years and it was all well and good. i never left a review for the good experiences but, then again, i dont often leave reviews anyway (i'm typically those ppl you see in the reviews that leaves stars but no comment lol). the one time i left a review for this clinic was after a bad experience and heres why: the short of it was, when i came to them w/ my pooch, they brushed off his symptoms as just arthritis because he was getting up there in age; my freakin' dog had BONE CANCER (courtesy of getting a second opinion from a different vet clinic)! considering the holiday season was in full swing, by the time i got the second opinion and saw the specialist, the verdict was it was too late and i had to put my baby down last year. in my review, i did say the clinic is good for milder cases (injuries, mild illnesses, worm treatment, neutering/spaying, etc), but, if one thinks a situation w/ their pet is dire, they should go somewhere else because they didnt know what they were doing. and, no, i was not the only customer that lost their beloved pet due to this vet clinic's negligence and misdiagnoses. i do agree w/ you though that that seems to be a trend that ppl almost never give good reviews but are more than willing to put businesses on blast for not corroborating w/ entitled bs. if the mistake is egregious, as OP said, or it's a situation like mine where the mistake was at a great cost then by all means put it out there as a warning to potential customers. if youre just being an entitled twat then keep your mouth shut if you got nothing nice to say. yea, one entitled twat whining in reviews wont do much, but having a bunch of Karens doing this can genuinely cause problems for these businesses because itd actually deter sane customers from patroning. cease and desist your entitledness, Karen(s)!
When I worked at a popular crafts store people would come in near closing all the time! We closed at 9PM btw, usually to get the last minute stuff for their kids project it seemed. This was infuriating enough, but corporate policy said once in the store, have to help them. Yeah that sucked. Usually end up in the store for 30-45 minutes, then we all had to wait for the manager to count down the last till, only part that made it better was, we got paid an extra hour for sitting on the loading dock smoking cigarettes. Quit that job after a Karen actually assaulted me. Grabbing one of my twin-tails was bad enough then she grabbed the choker I was wearing. Everyone should work food service AND retail at least once in their lives to understand what you put us all through! That's obviously not everyone, most customers are nice, but the ones it's meant for, you know who you are!
Two of us were sent to Newcastle upon Tyne for an engineering meeting. Luckily we concluded on the same day and we went out for food that evening. We found a nice Italian place which was empty but as it was early we sat down and enjoyed the food, which was excellent, however the place was still empty as we finished. From memory there were 4 waiters and 3 kitchen staff just standing around. I bought several bottles of wine and invited the staff to sit down and enjoy a drink with us. They were a bit surprised but we all had a good time and they put some wine on the table too. We left there at closing time and I supported my work mate back to the hotel, a posh one by the train station. Next day I drove back while Terry recovered. Customers don't have to be as* holes. The staff at the restaurant had to be there and my train of thought was everyone enjoyed themselves.
I'm a waitress in Brooklyn, 29 years, for late arrivals we turn off radio, tvs lights and then tell them 'sorry, we're closing' being a waitress is not easy.
My dude, I’m so glad I don’t work closing anymore. This was actually my first ever complaint by a customer - and it was because every day there was a Karen who would sit at the back table and play on her phone, with the cable plugged in and using our free Wi-Fi. Every night at closing, I’d go back and tell her politely that since we were closed, I had to lock the doors, and that she could exit out the back door (which doesn’t open from the outside) when she was ready. I told her that I’d turn off the lights in about fifteen minuets and show her out and make sure she got to her car safe, all that. She complained loudly. I let it go because she did leave within the allotted fifteen minutes, but she did this three more times. The fourth time, I told her, she flipped out, calling me a bitch, saying that I was harassing a paying customer, etc. So I calmly informed her that if she did not vacate the premises, I would call dispatch and have her removed. She left. I got visited the next day by my regional manager. The next day, we had a horrible one star review saying that a cashier had used slurs, was racist, charged her extra for things she didn’t want, and harassed her during her whole visit. My area manager doesn’t take things like that lightly, so she sat me down and asked me for my side of things. I was horrified, especially since there was no name written. So we read through the full survey to figure out who the customer was, an lo and behold, it was Karen. I explained that I’d told Karen to leave at closing and after she refused told her I’d call the cops on her. My area manager and I laughed about it, put Karen on the banned list and removed the review.
I remember standing in line for a moonlight madness sale at Zeller's (defunct Canadian department store). The store was closed for set up for the sale. A lady came to the front of the line demanding to be let in because she "just needed to pick up a prescription". Staff didn't let her in (thank heaven). It was only about 10 more minutes before the store was going to open. Lady, if you need that prescription so urgently that you can't wait 10 minutes, maybe you should be calling 911 (don't think she really needed to pick up a prescription, just wanted to jump the line).
8:00 I almost was that person accidentally....back when I was in college, a couple of us were working in a project together at Panera, we looked up to see them cleaning and we were like 'oh my God I am so sorry we lost track of time.' They were insanely nice and said they weren't worried yet, since they hadn't reached our section, and we were always nice to them, so they didn'twant to disturb our studying.....but we were mortified and were super apologetic...and set an alarm so we didn't risk messing up our relationship with the staff at our favorite hangout spot ever again.
At least you were apologetic and took steps to ensure you wouldn't do it again! You're not a Karen, and believe it or not, staff doesn't usually mind as long as you're not ordering food that close to closing as as long as you're not causing trouble. This varies from place to place, obviously, but I'm just talking from my experience.
When I worked in customer service (bookstore) many moons ago, one of the most infuriating things people would say when they were complaining about something (prices going up, the price of something, something being out of stock, something not even out yet, the list goes on...) was "Well, that's not very good, is it?" WTH are you supposed to say in response to that? And you can't just not say anything, because sure as hell if you try they will follow up with "IS IT??!!" I used to respond "I guess not" and the most common further response was "Well, you should fix it". Umm, all that stuff is out of my control. One day I told a customer "Sorry, my magic wand is broken" and got put on probation for six months by the psycho manager. Fun times.
I once told some arsehat who cold-called us on the phone, demanding immediate delivery two days before Christmas (when we were already behind schedule), that I "didn't control the laws of physics". It just came out, though after several minutes of my offering alternate solutions that he summarily rejected. Needless to say, that got rid of him.
A local small pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint. They closed down 2 hours. I told them I thought they should have closed the rest of the day. They told me a customer was really upset because they closed 2 hours. Unbelievable! They were just threatened within an inch of their life! No empathy.
Everyone in the service industry deserves respect. especially wait staff, when I was a waitress I made a whole..wait for it....$2.13 an hr. When I got that check the government had taken it all. I've worked in customer service for 20 years. Please tip any service workers too. Hairstylists, nail tech wait staff etc. Sometimes that's literally what they are living off of. Here's a fun little story once I was told by a customer to " go cut an artery" oh fun times.
The last restaurant i worked at had stacks and stacks of those paper credit card receipts that they used to run through a stamper with a hand press. They must have had thousands of them left over from the 90s or something! I laughed about it, until we had technical issues one night, and we had to make out the receipts by hand.🤣 Priceless!
Lmao the entitlement is scary! I had a customer complain about a free gift with purchase once at Ulta and wanted to exchange it for another free gift. That’s not how it works at all. Throw away the item or give it to someone else. The company who made the products as gifts provide them for their brand with a purchase. 🙃 Sometimes there would be left over gifts from previous gifts of the week so it makes it possible to give out more but, sometimes that was not the case.
I once worked in a small dessert shop, which was open until 8:45 and after that i'd pull the curtain down half way, get a list of the purchases, turn off everything and give the keys to another bigger branch that closed a few minutes earlier. People would still come in and ask to buy things and for me to make an exception, even after seeing everything turned off🤦♀️ I was scared of offending them "which would result in complains about me" so I kept my mouth shut (while putting my foot down) but the other branch were stronger and knew the owners and would put them in their place. They sometimes even came to help me which I really appreciate
Worked as a hostess for 10 years and I can tell you Mother's day is the worst day of the year. So many entitled karens! So many of us ended up crying in the bakery room.
My daughter and her BF took me out for mother's day and our waitress didn't say happy mother's day to either of us. I didn't even think about it, poor thing was so overwhelmed my daughter saw her crying in the rest room and talked to her, she thanked my daughter when she brought the bill. We had a 2 hour wait and that's why I don't like to go out to eat on mother's day.
I’m so surprised! I know Karens exist but you would think Mother’s Day will allow folks to reflect and be grateful for what they have. Out of all the days to be an a**hole, I wouldn’t think a day that celebrates motherhood be the worst🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ Sending you and all those in customer service a lot of appreciation.
I thought Valentine's day was awful, people would go all out on splurging their dates, showing off, then leave a %5 tip, if any at all, meanwhile my 12 hour shift was non-stop moving. Only a 10 table restaurant, but I was the only server and managing bar as well. >.< Worst job. My boss was also just....not paying me, for months he was like, get your tips, I will owe you your wage, like I didn't have rent or something. Hahaha, we also only had ONE wine glass in the restaurant. It was a joke. To be fair, I didn't make it to Mother's day, so can't compare, had to go find a job that paid so I could still have a home.
@@cb2146 omg that restaurants spund like a disaster. Valentines day is also hectic but you can find the funny side and couples tend to be so into each other they dont bother as much. Mothers day is emotional because not only are you sacrificing not been with yours, you also have to see others celebrate with theirs like you wish you could. Anf they treat employees like shit since its their day, and most of the times is not even the mother, its the adult children taking them out to eat that are the problem.
@@ceejay8545 Yeap, busiest day of the year follow by christmas and new year. People fight about the wait and how "ridiculous" it is Im making them wait. Dont I understand is THEIR DAY!AND SHOULDNT HAVE TO WAIT!?! Yes ma'am, you and other 400 people had the same idea, I gotta seat you all not just you😒
Omg the one where the customer was still there after closing and all of the wait staff was standing around waiting on them to leave is sooo true. I have been a server for 21 years and the stories that I could tell you about entitled customers would take me a couple of days.
"next time say happy mother's day" yeah as a server I once had one of my regulars withhold tipping because I didn't realize it was Lent and should be paying better attention when recommending food to a primarily Catholic town. So, another one of my regulars (also Catholic) that was present at the time apologized for their behaviour, tipped extra and begged me not to lump them in with them. I've been scolded for stupid things before, but being scolded for not knowing when a religious holiday or whatever that I don't celebrate lands...that's a new one for me. I grew up with STRICT Catholic friends (that our rule was I don't try to convert you, you don't try to convert me cause we're set in our beliefs and that's okay ☺️) and never had one of 'em go off but whatevs ~ 🙃
I was at this seafood place one time with my family and this couple was having trouble paying for their food- the machine wouldn’t take their card. Lady called her bank and said it went through however, cant just trust the word of a customer. Her boyfriend yelled across the restaurant that they were leaving and being overly aggressive with the majority of the waitstaff. He was also yelling curse words out which sucked because there were children there eating too. Police were called and when we left, an officer was outside talking to them. We tipped the waiter more than 20% that day. Especially since one of the girls serving tables joked she was shaking from the encounter to try to cope.
I worked in a courthouse and we closed at 4. We had to count out money, close out our drawers and return everything to the finance department. The goal was to have us all walking out the door at 4;30. We would have people show up at 3;59 to file a civil motion in general district court. One of the gals I worked with would say, "I don't show up at your job a minute before closing and then ask you to stay and work. Don't do it to us." If they got mouthy with her, she would say, "It would be a real shame if your paperwork disappeared." Most people would come back the next day. It did no good to complain. You could rape a nun and not get fired (state government job.) I know for a fact that gal and I got into a knock down, drag out once and they didn't even put a note in our file. I always thought it was so rude of her to say those things, but it's also rude to come in right at closing and be at your leisure, expecting everyone to advise you on what you need to do, how do it, etc.. You can research it before you come in, find out how much money you need to file, what you want to file, etc. But they never did. Th1eyw'd show up at closing and be curious that you wouldn't swe etay and guide them through filing their paperwork. And we used to tell people, "I'm not an attorney. I can't advise you."
Damn yeah there is definitely a way to get your point across without being nasty and your co worker sounded like an entitled brat. She knew she wouldn't lose her job and so she treated ppl how ever she wanted to. When I was on probation when I got out of jail I was told I needed to do an anger management class. The woman teaching the class was so nasty and rude! And she could be! If you didn't complete your course you risk going back to jail and she knew this. It seemed counter productive to anger ppl that needed to work on their anger. I complained and was allowed to do therapy instead thank god
Lol, you reminded me of when I had jury duty a few years ago. It was a ridiculous case of a guy who got a citation and fine for catching an undersized fish. He thought he could talk his way out of it and said how when he first went to the courthouse to pay the fine, the clerk told him he should fight it and ask for a jury trial. That was his whole defense. The judge got pissed and said nobody other than attorneys are allowed to give legal advice, and if one of his clerks was doing so, he needed to know who it was and start an investigation. Fish Dude shut up, we found him guilty of Fish Crimes and he paid the ticket haha.
@@me2ontube these are the kind of answers I get from a son who thinks he's very punny. Well, actually he is. I have a paternal uncle who is also punny, so please feel free to stick around. Nothing to be ashamed of. Can help it you were born punny! 😉
The one that got me was the couple who bought two iced teas (you just know they had numerous free refills) and also wanted bowls of free chips and salsa. Not only should they have actually read the menu, but maybe considered that the restaurant would be losing money on their pitiful purchase. SMH.
I worked at a grocery store for almost 10 years and it was so satisfying locking the door in someone's face at the end of the night. I can't even count how many times someone would say "I just need one thing" and then proceed to grab a large shopping cart.....
Oof... If I really need just the one thing, I REALLY WILL get just the one thing. Unlike my mom, who says she just needs one thing and ends up getting a whole basket full. At least she doesn't go in near closing, though.
That pricing thing at the end hit me hard man. Where I work we recently had to change EVERY PRICE TAG in the store because the prices had gone up, and obviously that took about a week to do (not to mention the fact we had to do it AGAIN immediately after because of the 50% off deal the Big Boss decided to do). So we're already sick of the stupid things, and then we get customers near CONSTANTLY throughout our shifts demanding that we stop being "Idiots" and "Money grabbing a--holes" and change the prices back.. like we can control it... It's SO infuriating!! Please let customer service workers live their lives and stop harassing them for silly/asinine reasons...
I gotta say, I used to be a POS coordinator for cost plus world market and this is the exact reason that we did all of our price changing before the store even opened. I mean I would have to get there at 7 AM and the store didn’t open until 10. It really did help us avoid this shit
@@jackimoon8284 God I wish... A lot of the time we're told to change the prices mid-shift, so we're busy already and then told to sort this thing that should have been done before we opened/after we closed
I've actually been in that spot where my debit wasn't working, people were lined up behind me waiting to pay, I started to cry out of embarrassment, the man and his partner behind me offered to pay but the employee actually paid from her own cash. By the end of my visit I was so grateful for kind humans and so embarrassed i ran for the hills. I've since beeb back and actually gave a tip to the amount that my order before had cost.
I was just thinking, if it's a technical difficulty, the place of business should be more understanding because it's their system that's giving issues. On the other hand, I do think that, in the event such difficulties arise, people should always have enough cash to pay their bills. Hopefully, this is a lesson that people learn.
My credit card was declined at the grocery store (turns out my bank closed the account number because someone tried to use it fraudulently and I missed the notification). I didn't have another card or cash with me, so I ended up leaving behind an entire cart full of food rather than hold up the line any further. So embarrassing.
@@kethleensirois6385 I was glad that my bank had stopped someone else from using my account, so the inconvenience and embarrassment was an acceptable trade.
Went on a beach walk and saw a nice restaurant and as it was about to rain went in for lunch. We told the waitress how much cash we had with us, and said we could spend 90 % of that on food so she could get a 10% tip. She said that was not necessary and we said yes it was and then had lots of fun with her when she got a calculator and she helped us to maximize our choice of food worked
Their is something kind of cool being in a restaurant when multiple tornadoes are touching down all around you. The range in emotions from the crowed is crazy. You get everything from Chicken Little's "The sky is falling", to people joking and taking storm damage bets.
I don't think calling the ladies in the one story "females" was ment to be mean or dismissive. The OP is probably in the military. They don't use the words "man" or "woman", it's "male" and "female". It's a hard habit break once you're out. I still do it every so often, and I've been out for over a decade now.
I agree, I'm a female myself and use the term because I've spent over 10 years as a Dispatcher and you just get use to saying male/female. It's not really that serious more habit than anything.
@@Dontbootit Usagi didn't say they were in the military for 10 years, they said they were a Dispatcher for 10 years. Also, being a fan of a music genre isn't age limited.
Once I had a couple come in 2 minutes before close as server. But they were super nice, apologetic, and tipped over 30%. I will serve those people any day.
Lady, you are my doze (dose, douse, does... one of these must be the right one!) of happy chuckles on a regular basis. Also... I now have the (in my mind hilarious) tendency to shout out 'DO YOUR RESEARCH' at all kinds of inapropriate times. (I work at a university... it happens a lot).
I've worked as both a chef and a waitress many times in the past and I don't understand why people don't get it when they come in after the kitchen is closed and still get sh*tty when we say we can't do food for them as the kitchen equipment has been turned off and the chef is gone. As a waitress I was NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED to start the fryers and cook for them. And as a chef, I had been on my feet all fricking day in a ridiculously hot oven of a kitchen so now I was gonna leave work, grab a beer and go to bed. The world does not revolve around YOU KAREN!!!
The only thing that would make the first story complete is if OP posted an update saying the choosing beggar called the cops. The choosing beggar seems like they would be the type of person to do that if this is their definition of harassment.
People who throw terms like "haute couture" about typically haven't a clue what that really means. It's adorable that Charlotte pronounced it "hot" couture instead of "HO", but it sure sounds like this entitled choosy beggar deserved to be called "hoe" in a way that has nothing to do with fashion! 😉
Exactly Charlotte!! I started working at 14 (McDonald’s) and have managed and worked in retail/customer service for 15 years. People need to work in the Retail/Customer Service industry to see how people are really treated. I mean we were treated like dirt, yelled at, items thrown. I had to call the police 5 times in 15 years and this is pre Covid-19. So grateful for the IT/Security industry I am in now. But whenever I go out I always make sure I tip 25% always compliment everyone and I always stand up to the Karen’s and Kevin’s I see in public.
That last one had to be at Walgreens. I worked in their call center for 3 years and we took calls for every Walgreens in the United States. I could (and should) write a book. We had one lady who would call in once a week to tell us where she was traveling in the country and just wanted to let us know she was ok - sadly, she wasn't traveling anywhere, she was just crazy and liked to talk to us. We had another lady who would call 20x a day and scream obscenities at us and threaten to tell Mr. Walgreen on us and get us fired (he's been dead for years). Another lady would call us weekly when the new ad would come out, and make us read her the items and prices in the ad, often making us go back and repeat some of them. There was also a man who called us for 6 months straight to yell at us that he hadn't received his $.05 cent rebate check. Walgreen's has a policy that we were not allowed to hang up on any of them, even when they screamed at us. Worst job I have EVER had - the only good part were the people I worked with and the funny stuff we would do while we were on those calls.
I remember at my previous job we closed at 12 pm for Christmas eve. A customer who even didn't even buy that much during the month, arrived there 2 hours after my place of work closed, caused such a scene with the security that the security felt threatened by them. The owner of the company was somehow contacted, he drove to the place of work, helped the customer. Take note that this customer spent less than 100 dollars in the space of a year. Its also worth taking note that he had his credit account with my previous place that was closed due to non payment and was only o allowed to buy cash. The company sold wholesale replacement parts company that supplies to the retail automotive sector. Also take note that we had customer buying over 500 000 a month and they didn't have a problem with us closing. This guy was a real douche and no one wanted to serve him when he phoned in because he hardly ever bought part but thought he owned our company
I’ve said for a while now that every H.S. student should be required to work as a food server, in healthcare (preferably with the elderly), and finally in telephone marketing/scheduling as part of their education. I’m not saying not to pay them for this work, only that they should get the opportunity to see what different kinds of “service jobs” entail. Secondly, if you can’t tip, don’t order! or get something else so that you can tip!
I've had similar thoughts! At the age of 18, after graduating High School (I'm in Australia), there should be a mandatory 12-month service industry period before you can either go on to university or otherwise continue on to career of choice. One would hope that after a few years, the sense of entitlement would be worn away and people would be generally nicer to one another. Clearly not going to happen in my lifetime, though... if at all 😞
I think everyone should serve tables at least for a little while. It is humbling, educational and sociologically fascinating. And it is NOT and easy gig but you can make a living doing it.
When I worked in a resturaunt my manager would have me start vacuuming 15 minutes after close so it was a lot harder to talk and leisure.... The worst customer I had was 2 teens and one of their younger brother... he dropped a smoothie and they just SAT THERE, didn't even move seats while I cleaned up under their feet, on the cobblestone patio, in 80 dehree whether and i had to wear jeans for safety reasons (like spilling hot soup), so I was literally sweating heavily. If I had done that I would've asked to help... nope... and no thank you either...
This just reminds me of when a woman wanted me to add noodles to the menu when I worked at Buffalo Wild Wings. At that time our location was new (back in 2010 when I was in college), and didn't yet have Mac N Cheese. But I'm sure that wouldn't have been enough for her even if we had it. Lol.
Yeah, I’ve been working in coffee shops for six years now. It’s ridiculous how many people treat coffee shops like their personal office. Taking up entire tables for 8+ hours a day, spending like $10 in coffee, and then having straight up meetings and business calls and stuff in there. Glaring down people that disturb their work.
I used to work in a take-away. Didn't always see eye to eye with my boss, but one thing he said that I totally agreed with: he thought that on leaving education, whether that be high school, college, or post-grad level further academia, should work a mandatory year in some form of the service industry. He had two reasons for this thinking. One, it would demonstrate that nobody is 'too good' for any job, and two, it would help to basic respect for another human being. The two years I spent there were an eye-opener in terms of how servers are perceived. In the years since, I've gone out of my way to appreciate counter staff. If there's a queue, or an arsey customer, I'll make a point of a smile, let the person know they're appreciated. On the fliip-side, there are times I've walked out of a shop if staff are just goofing off, but in the main, I remember the feeling, and so would never want to be remembered as *that* customer.
My mom was on her own from 16 and worked as a waitress for about a year. Now she leaves insane tips. 20% is her minimum, for when she's broke or if the server did a bad job. Anytime she orders just a drink she tips more than 100%, maybe its a $2 drink and she doesn't want to deal with change so just tells them to keep the entire 5 dollar bill (ha! A $2 drink sounds cheap now, inflation baby)
For the one with standing around waiting I used to work at an Indian restaurant and the level of entitlement to be in the establishment wayyyy past closing was too common. And because we were small we couldn’t afford to ask them to leave. Also most of them didn’t tip or tipped very poorly. Needless to say, treat serves with respect regardless of where you go. Restaurants are not your second house, leaving mask or baby wipes is disgusting and if you can afford to go out to eat you can also afford to tip.
My mummo actively tips less if it's a restaurant ran by the people from that culture (i didn't know how to word that, but mexicans at a mexican restaurant, asians at an asian restaurant). Makes me want to puke. Safe to say I know good enough to save my falafel cravings for when I'm not with her now. I know there are definitely more people like that as well.
One time I was stuck behind an entitled man at a pretzel place in an amusement park. It was a limited and very visible menu, 2 pretzels, 2 dips and drinks. This 40-something ordered for his family, paid, got his pretzels and dips, and then asked for mustard. The worker said sorry, they only have cheese dip and cream cheese dip, as shown on the giant menu above her head. He looked at the bags in his hand, then back at the worker and said, "but I don't eat pretzels without mustard." The two just stared at each other until my mom stepped up to give her an excuse to move on from him. No idea how that manchild expected mustard to appear in a place that had none, or if he ate his unacceptable mustard-less pretzel.
Love the Customer Service ones, thank you sooo much, the struggle is real! I understand what's good for the goose is good for the gander, but the server ones tip of the iceberg lol yah thank you needed that!
As far as “Happy Mother’s Day” Unless a woman is there, with children, or a baby bump, it’s not necessary. What if she just lost a baby? What if she never wanted kids? You never know. People are ridiculous
Until recently, I always stayed home on Mother's Day. As an infertile woman, having strangers wish me "Happy Mother's Day!" everywhere I went was just too painful. Now I'm an old woman and DGAF about much of anything.
You can have nurturing mother energy-male or female- even if you are not a biological mother. There are a lot of people who mother without having children.
A friend and I were out for dinner once and we looked up and all the staff were standing in a circle around our table arms crossed. Chairs on the tables and EVERYTHING shut down. I tipped like 100% as fast as I could and we ran out the door. So embarrassing, I laugh now :).
I had a lot of senior customers who complained to me about the increase in price of their senior discount cards. Their card was $2 annually for 20+years. After the 2nd year I worked at the restaurant, they finally increased it to $20 annually. After 20+years! I’m getting anxiety thinking about all the complaints I had for the price change... “I’m just your host today ma’am. This was the decision of the CEO of the restaurant change, after 20+years of only paying $2 annually for a discount card.”
When going out for food, even as a 16 y/o HS student, I always calculated what our bill would be, plus a 15% tip. Maybe it’s because I’d already been working for a year by 16, or maybe I just had common sense. It’s free, folks. Common sense, that is. Take two. They’re small.
The Happy Mother's Day thing goes both ways. One Mother's Day, we were sat next to a late 20's couple. The server came to their table and said Happy Mother's Day to the lady. She started bawling. The husband started screaming at the server because apparently the wife had recently had a miscarriage. No way she could have known that. The husband demanded she be fired. To the manager's credit he refused. He apologized but told the man, while he was sorry for their misfortune, it was their policy to wish the ladies a Happy Mother's Day. The server had done nothing wrong and he would not punish her.
I woke up sick and no voice. What a lovely ray to brighten my day!!! Always bringing the sun and fun! Thanks again for a perfect video Charlotte!! Oh we LOVE YOU!!!
Awwww, sweet!!!
Brava!! Brava!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’ve worked as a server before. It’s not that serious. We have to clean and roll silver anyways after the restaurant closing so a customer staying 20 minutes past closing time isn’t a big deal but that’s sweet you were mindful.
God bless you crazy cat queen please come eat where I work🙏❤️
Honestly I worked in a restaurant as a host and it pissed me off that people were allowed to book reservations for 9:00 pm when the kitchen closes at 9:00 pm.
I was at the supermarket all night shopping."
When that store manager transferred to another store, we started turning her away.
I love the ending to this story - the bagger who put canned goods on top of the bread is my hero.
I cackled when I read that the bag boy put cans on top of her bread
So petty, but well deserved.
That was an excellent story to share!! I got so much satisfaction reading this!! Would have loved to have been there to see her face! 🤣 🤣
That's such a satisfying result. I would be giddy all shift!
Nice
Managers that have their employee's backs are the best ❤️
This is a beautiful thing 🥰
Exactly. We were trained to avoid saying anything on MOST holidays....
OR you have lost a parent OR have lost a child.
So I’m convinced they’ll leave your ass locked in that store lol
When I worked at a Bank in the 90’s.
I worked there one Christmas and, yes, I can vouch the managers mean business. I feel like every place should have routine warnings.
As someone with a handicapped tag who needs one of those spots, I'm really glad she got arrested. Hope the manager was okay!
I had a handicap license plate car park in front of a drive up mail box. When I told him it’s not for parking he pulled a gun on me!
That's what I would've done.
For real tho!!!

So good ! So satisfying to put Karen's in their place x)
This... is beautiful... petty revenge... And I'm here for it.
Now that's a satisfying story. Mmmm. 😆
You are AWESOME!
These Karens are terrible but I'm so proud of you hun!!!! 😎👍👏
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
👏🏻 Karma works fast. 😉
Isn't it nice when you get to see karma in action right before your very eyes? I can't think of anyone else who deserved that seagull shit storm more... *and* you got to witness it first hand, out of the drop zone!
It's like the seagulls stopped you and said "Stay here and watch this!"... lol that's awesome!
I live in coastal south Texas and also worked in a beach setting. This story brought me pure joy!!! Seagulls indeed are excellent servers of karma!
Pressing the stack is a really good revenge, no one is harmed and you got satisfaction ^^ Very good !
I work in a deli too and I do the same shit to rude people.

Uuuuugh so sorry for you ☹️
This is another reason why I don't work in the food service industry.
He said, "I didn't order baked beans."
His daughter said, "I did."
Again, he looked in the bag and said more forcefully, "I didn't order baked beans."
His poor daughter was so embarrassed as she said louder, "Dad, I ordered the beans!"
He grabbed the food, turned around and said to the customers behind him, "Bad service".
@@jessicasweatman2046
Well, it was your fault for being late for the class. Was Karen holding a line on the gun point?
"No one told me your coffee prices were going up!"
"What, you didn't see it in the paper?
Never ever say happy mother's day to someone you don't know, unless they are with young children. You just don't know their situation.
Like, it's not my holiday and I really don't want it to be 😂
Especially the people who see that I have pets and wish me a happy mother's day because "you're a pet parent!" No. Just.
Agreed. I got a happy mother's day this year and it felt weird since I don't have kids yet. We can't just assume all women want/have children
@@WeirdSnakeGal sadly though, they will argue that 1+1=5. 🤣
The server also could have forgotten that it was Mother's Day. Either way, I agree it's weird to want a stranger saying that to you.
@@memawknowsbest4978 or if you've had a parent that has died. Holidays are very triggering for me because of that. I usually stay in my house.
I thought that stl stood for Seattle?
The servers name was "Lenny", not too sure he's a mom.
I honestly didn't know what to say at the time because I was so amazed by the audacity. Can't forget that lady. Haha
My ex has worked at Disneyland for over 40 years. They are not allowed to say, "You're welcome" to a guest, and they will be reprimanded if they do.
Saying "No problem" is worse and could get them fired.
The response they are required to give is, "It was my pleasure." 🙄
@@LazyIRanch That's so ridiculous. Why does the response even matter that much? As long as it's polite, anyway.
My dad always thought Alex Trebek personally wrote all the questions for Jeopardy and purposely made them difficult to make my dad look dumb. So no, I'm not surprised people think the employees set the prices in stores because stupid is everywhere. 🤦🏼♀️
:D
Is she saying her Dad is dumb?
I’m not sure this story counts, but I think about it often. I used to work at a sandwich shop that shared a building with a Starbucks. Their drive through was right next to our entrance. On one of the holidays when Starbucks was closed and we were open, this older woman tried going through the drive through, realizing a few minutes of waiting later that they were closed. She aggressively reversed to leave, swerving and crashing her car straight into our shop. And when I say in, I literally mean into the middle of the shop since the front wall was made entirely of glass. When the police came, she had the audacity to say that it wasn’t her fault and that Starbucks should be charged because they weren’t open when they should’ve been 😂 it’s been almost ten years and I still have the video from the cameras on my phone
upload the videos ;-;
I hope Charlotte sees this and asks for a copy of the video so she can add it to one of her future posts!

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the 'seminar' was for a time share or some kind of multi-level-marketing scheme.

Short story for y'all:
I worked front desk at a gym with a pool for about a year. She wasn't.
Haha was she going to wait while you learned?! That's so funny!!!

I'm a Christian but I HATED waiting on the Sunday church crowd. So snotty.
One woman looked at me like I was vermin because I was working on Sunday.
I thought, "I have to work because you're coming in after church to eat here."
I was very tempted to tell her, "The Sabbath isn't on Sunday. It's on Saturday, so take your holier-than-thou attitude home and cook your own food."
I held my tongue though.
People like them are a big reason why many others look down on Christians. We all don't act like that.
That's why I held my tongue. Telling her off would make me no better than her.

They were so happy to get food and smiled and thanked me for waiting on them.
The Friday night drunk crowd usually wants to give you a hug, with “I love you man.”

What is your business? I'd like to check it out.
Dang. I can see being 5-15 mins late but 2 HOURS? Yeah at that point you need to reschedule
Oh 100% it's even worse if there kids have a Minor issue ( sprained finger)but they insist there baby is DYING
Thank you for your service. As a person with a disability, I have spent a good quality of my life in hospitals and I’ve seen how hard people work there. So again thank you!
@@KBish Thank you! It was a good career-rewarding but hard. X-Ray is very hard on the body! I did mammography for the last 15-20 years.
Wth is wrong with that lady? Couldn't you just kick her out because it was past closing time? (I do that because our bosses want it and I want it too)
@@MultiTintenherz The manager should have kicked her out.
@@ahub87 whoa that's kinda scary :/ It isn't that store though, it's a local Oregon chain called Market of Choice.
@@ziggystarlust why didn't the manager send you home if he wasn't going to kick her out? Doesn't make sense!
The “Happy Mother’s Day” receipt shows that the customer actually wrote .01 less than the actual total AND no tip?!
I was just about to leave a comment about that as I saw the same thing.
I saw that too! What a shitty thing to do!
I noticed that, too. I'm an auditor, so naturally that drove me crazy!
I know! How many packages of ramen is that?
How about buying something cheaper and leave a tip!!
That's one of the vilest things you can do. That's basically telling the server that they don't think their service is worth anything.
Entitled Karens should be court ordered to work in retail, hospitality, or wherever their crime of entitled a$$ery was committed. One week *MINIMUM* ....unpaid. 😁
Maybe I am bit sadistic, how about a year unpaid, with no breaks! 😈
That would be awesome..especially as a consequence if they get the cops called on then
@@LatinaChef1986 Illegal, but I like the way you think.
Bad idea. Would you want to be served by one of those broads?
But you have to be objective about it
That's why the saying goes you make a person happy, they tell one person. You make them upset they tell twenty. It really makes no sense at all.
If they have been there 50 times before and been happy, why haven't they left a review before? Were they waiting for a bad experience?
The fact that entitled people like this actually exist still baffles me
It's getting worse. I worked in the service industry for 30 years and watched it decline over the past few years. I'd had enough of the entitlement...
The managers deserve a medal for dealing with these people.
Well, technically they didn't say WHOSE artery you should cut, so...
Love your work, Charlotte. You are my "get home from work" treat. You are the first video I watch whenever I log in. Thanks for making me smile 😀
Out of all the days to be an a**hole, I wouldn’t think a day that celebrates motherhood be the worst🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Sending you and all those in customer service a lot of appreciation.

@@elainehill6504 sounds a bit fishy to me ... a clerk giving legal advice - I'll leave now - I'm so ashamed 😔
@@CrustyUgg people like that should never have positions of power over others.
@@MashuTora Agreed. It's something I've made sure to do since, saves so much time and humiliation.
My credit card was declined at the grocery store (turns out my bank closed the account number because someone tried to use it fraudulently and I missed the notification). I didn't have another card or cash with me, so I ended up leaving behind an entire cart full of food rather than hold up the line any further. So embarrassing.
@@melissablackwood awee, that's actually awful. Nothing worse then the feeling in the pit of your stomach when that happens

You are an awesome customer!
Was this in Europe or something?

@@usagifelton in the army for ten years but a KPop Stan?

Once I had a couple come in 2 minutes before close as server. But they were super nice, apologetic, and tipped over 30%. I will serve those people any day.
Lady, you are my doze (dose, douse, does... one of these must be the right one!) of happy chuckles on a regular basis.
Also... I now have the (in my mind hilarious) tendency to shout out 'DO YOUR RESEARCH' at all kinds of inapropriate times. (I work at a university... it happens a lot).
Dose is the one you want. 🙂
Its also worth taking note that he had his credit account with my previous place that was closed due to non payment and was only o
allowed to buy cash.
"Happy Mother's Day" lady wasn't going to tip regardless, that was just the chosen excuse of the day.
I REALLY hope you make that audacity mug! Hope to sip it while watching your entitled videos! LOVE YOU Charlotte!! ☕🤞 💜
Love the Customer Service ones, thank you sooo much, the struggle is real! I understand what's good for the goose is good for the gander, but the server ones tip of the iceberg lol yah thank you needed that!
As far as “Happy Mother’s Day”
Unless a woman is there, with children, or a baby bump, it’s not necessary.
What if she just lost a baby?
What if she never wanted kids?
You never know.
People are ridiculous
Plus, she’s not the server’s mother! I’m not a mother but if I was I would only expect my own family to wish me Happy Mother’s Day.
