Awesome video as always 🦾 very informative. The sonic speeding across during the download section was great 😂 I always dig all the little "extras" you put in your videos 😊
Just a quick FYI - Teknoparrot ISN'T an emulator in the traditional sense like MAME, it's a compatibility layer that allows these arcade games (many Linux based) to operate on the Windows OS.
@@lzamora470 So this Video is for Newbes, and I didn't want to get in the weeds on this, BUT lots of people seem to care. An Emulator, "Emulates" a console or arcade. This Program doesn't do that, it works be giving the Arcade Programs a path to run as itself on newer PC hardware. There isn't much of a difference, and most aren't going to care about the details as long as it works.
Very in depth tutorial which piqued my interest. I installed TP but every rom I try to extract (tried 4 different roms from several sources) I just dont seem to get a "Game" directory with "Game.exe" in it. Still, I did enjoy the video
Each is different. Not all have a Game Directory. Look at the name in the brackets, that's the executable you need to find. Also, Thanks for checking out the video.
+1 for this too. Not sure if we need to use WINE or a game launcher (e.g. Lutris, Heroic, etc.) to make TP work on the Steam Deck? I'm guessing that it's probably too much trouble trying to make it work so the best we can do is to wait for an official release from the TP team for the Steam Deck or on a Linux based distro outside of Windows.
It sounds like the copy you have didn't extract all the way. Try downloading the program again, and reinstall it. (This is just a guess). Good Luck, and Thanks for checking out the video.
@@TechicallyTNT Please try yourself if possible? You can always install Linux to a different SSD drive and boot from it; while leaving your Windows SSD drive untouched. I'll try doing the same eventually. I'm trying to move away from Windows so would be great if TP can natively work on Linux.

Thank You as always. Glad you enjoyed the extras, I'm never sure about all of them. I just hope people find the video helpful.

Ismt that what an emulator is ? Excuse my ignorance

Thank you for the tutorial!
God Bless You Sir, Thank so much for the Super Thanks. That means a ton to me.
Great video! I was curious how involved it was to set up this emulator. 😃
Turns out, easy when you know what to do. The hard part is waiting for the roms to download. Most of them are monster downloads.
Great info. 👍
Thank You Very Much, I hope you found it helpful.

I'd recommend checking out the social media links I spoke of, and FB Groups... Also, Thank you for checking out the video.
Would this also work on a Steam Deck?
I do not have a steam deck so I've no idea really.

Only Star Wars - Battle Pod and Luigi's Mansion work.
@@Vindix007 Thanks. Is there instructions available on how to get TP working on Steam Deck?
@@Vindix007 That is Good to know.

Does Teknoparrot work on Linux?
I've not played with it BUT I've heard that it will work on Linux with wine. I've only read that, NOT tested it myself.
