Couple of quick notes: 0. When you UnRAR "TheWhiteRabbit.rar," you will have to go through three different RAR files before you reach the actual file. This is for Google related issues / security purposes only. 1. You can still play online with the original cab APK. Just set A1U to your home app. 2. If you're interested in online gaming, a Fightcade-like experience - check out GGPO for android which allows you to play a lot of these fighters online! 3. The best way to play Atomiswave games is to use the Dreamcast conversions. These can easily be found by searching Google, e.g., "Atomiswave to Dreamcast Collection." 4. To disable the “KILL PROCESS” prompt, goto settings>library, select: “Disable player warnings.” 5. YES. This works on Yoga Flame as well, but you must hit Win + N to get in the pull down menu and then select the settings gear in bottom right.
Thanks for the tutorial. I have several of these cabinets but I picked this one up over the holidays after watching your video. It's pretty good on its own but I feel like the soft mods are in a good place right now so I'm going to try and get this mod set up soon.
This is neat and I appreciate the effort but I already have a mame PC cab and I'm not a fan of retroarch so I'm going to keep my a1up stock. Thanks for showing the process! I'm sure it's helping a lot of people.
Finding out some of these run Andorid was the linchpin of inspiring me to buy one. That is so cool and seriously raises the potential of an A1U without having to yank all the stock hardware out. Hopefully that upcoming X-Men '97 MvC2 unit will be Android-based (I expect it to be).
Huge shout out to Aphaon for the guide, and thanks for slapping this video tutorial for those who like this format better. Will definitely be doing this to my machine, could be the ultimate Capcom cab!
Really love this mod… I modded my final fight about two years ago… and it has been rock solid running retro arch and I mapped all my buttons with an EG starts button and joystick kit from Amazon… got the cab for $200 on sale and all miscellaneous parts were about $100 and some time and patience… really solid video… this is dope
I'm mid process here and this looks like a much simpler option than chucking a pi in the thing, which I was going to do. thanks for posting this guide. I'm at the apk install (from card to machine), but waiting on the download. didn't realize that wasn't here (obviously). so far, so good! really appreciate it. just to be clear, if one was to acquire roms and had them in folders by game system, where exactly on the sd card would they go? just dump them in roms and leave the game system folder names? edit: I think I got it. I see how later in the video. thanks again! very cool
I'm a dummy with pi's and stuff, and I believe the encoder in the deck will only work with the stock PCB. So, being able to mod the stock PCB makes it much easier. It looks a bit complicated, maybe a bit more than the Simpsons but it opens the door to more games on this cab. Is it harder to mod the Big Blue than this cab? I have Big Blue and this, but I didn't build the Deluxe yet.
At around 6:10, you click the pencil and do something but I can't see exactly what. You mention using retroarch for everything, but I'm not sure how you "select" it in the pencil settings area. Any advice? I got this far but I'm unable to actually launch any roms. I get an error about killing processes and if I kill or don't kill, it doesn't matter, I get a blank screen and have to restart the machine. I've only tried mame/arcade so far, but I figured that would be easiest. I think it has something to do with the settings you talk about, butt can't actually see what you select because it's all zoomed in and fast
The issue is related to the proper emulator. There are two options: 1st, try and select retroarch 64. It will tell you that you don’t have that and ask if you’d like to select from an available list - in which case say yes and select retroarch 32 - fbalpha or Retroarch 32 CP-1. The second option is to try selecting retroarch 32 - fbalpha from the emulator menu. For killing process, it won’t be a problem when you select the correct emulator. But you can also bypass that in the settings menu of Daijisho. Once in settings>library, select: “Disable player warnings”
@@NEONBattleBitch so, I switched to 64 and got the prompt, but my only choices are mame - retroarch 32 - mame2003, 2003_midway, 2003_plus, mame - retroarch 32 - mame2000, mame - retroarch 32 - mame2010. These are listed as available players (?). I feel like I can't find the emulator menu but keep finding players. I can only find "player settings" in the menu not an option to select emulator
@@NEONBattleBitch hmmm, I hadn't. I feel like I'm missing something big here. Gonna review a few times and see what I messed up. I thought I was done haha, but I'm lost with these questions. I'm not seeing the og arcade1up options either, so I've definitely messed something up. Sorry for using up your time after you've already done so much. I'm gonna figure this out!
Hi Jayde, Yes I had the same hang up. I had to go back and check what I downloaded when I realized I only unzipped 3 files. Then I just created the file and sub files thinking I’m supposed to fill them. I was also a little confused on the button remapping as the video of you pressing the buttons doesn’t exactly match up with the screen showing the buttons. Would you kindly go over the button remapping again and give us input on the Arcade1up file? Thanks so much for this tutorial! I left off on the button remapping bc I ran out of time to work on it. Hoping to finish up and get retroarch running soon. Will keep you posted!
Could you do a more in-depth video? I am completely new to all this and confused on what to download and where to put it in which folder or sub folder. Using your links I seem to be missing some items. If you could do a step-by-step process, showing where to go and moving what to where (other then where to get roms ofc) that would be tremendously helpful as this looks to be the best soft mod tutorial I could find but I am just tech illiterate
hey jade, with this soft mod, can we set it to which game wed want it to automatically boot into, say i changed the marquee title to say darkstalker, or Street fighter III?
So I could play Alpha 1 and 2 on this cab? Regular Super Street Fighter II (it only has Super Turbo)? SFII: The World Warrior? I also hate that they took out Winners Don't Use Drugs from the SFII games as well as Q Sound Virtual Audio screen with the special music from Super Turbo. Big Blue had it but when I updated the cab the Winners Don't Use Drugs and Q Sound Virtual Audio were gone from Super Turbo. The update added scanlines, though. I didn't build the Deluxe cab yet, I want to make it a Final Fight. The Drug screens are only on US arcade games between 1989-2000, not on Japanese or World/Europe games.
