even if I didnt get my answers of my issues, hats off for a very good tutorial. you are doing super good in explaining. Don't see this often in YT. Keep up your work. subbed
Hi there. I have just a little question. Is it possible to time stretch midi clips in the arrangement view as for the audio files? The shift and drag command seems not to work.
If I'm understanding correctly, you should be able to. Double click your midi clip so that it shows in the bottom clip editor. Then select a group of notes or CTRL+A to select all notes. Then under your beat grid indicators (1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc...) you should see two markers at the beginning and end of the midi notes. You can click and drag these to stretch the midi notes over time.
In order to split a midi clip, you have to first move it into the arrangement view. Once on the timeline, click somewhere in the grid to place the marker, then hit Ctrl+E to split the midi clip where you put the marker.
New to Ableton Live, and this was the best, most straightforward explanation I have seen so far, thanks!
Thanks so much, you explained it better than anyone else!
Thanks! Happy to hear it was helpful for you

Thanks for the kind words!
AGREED! I hate it when youtubers try to be "funny" or "clever" in their tutorials/channels. Its so annoying! but THIS is the best on YT!

Cool video... How do you split a MIDI note? Or any clip in Ableton? In Cubase it's ALT+X. I'm just trying to find the equivalent.

@@djpak - excellent! I'll try that - thanks!
THANK YOU!
There is no 'insert midi clip' in the list in my Ableton 11
Did you make sure to select a section of time by clicking and dragging in the arrangement view? It won't give you that option if you just click once.
@@djpak thank you dude. I figured it out.) it was because of that I was trying to do it on an audio track. I should've created a midi track initially
Thank You! :)
Glad it was helpful!
2:25 it looks like it's playing the notes before it hits them? is this a recording issue or am I missing something?
