      Umbert doesn't need to grunt.. now he grunts tactically to throw off his opponents..you can see his grunts coming after ball crosses the court

    What humbert delivered after the 1rst set is crazy, he played on par with a certified top 5 and was so close to make it. A real step forward i hope for his career

      he is wearing t a muscle shirt this year ;-) but yes he has put on some muscles. Does this add to him hitting so much harder this year? But Humbert has not and is hitting the ball also a lot harder and much braver close to the baselines.

      @@Smoothways muscles have nothing to do with power. Power is about racket head speed, motion, technique, and the ability to stay loose when you make contact with the ball.
      You’re right zverev is shirtless this year but still the difference is important. He definitely did some weight lifting

      @@steven7846 but muscles to a certain degree are needed for stamina and indurance in ralleys. Yes, Sinner looks skinny but his muscle tension is one of the best. The only way he can hit all the balls down near the ground out of his knees so early.

      He tends to wobble at big moments. Luckily he held his nerve beautifully. So happy for Sascha! Superb match from both. I would have been happy for Humbert too had he won.

      @@pepper86 I was fooled too. Didn't check the match time and assumed I was watching today's finals. I had fun because it was a high quality match.
      I still haven't watched today's highlights. 6-2, 6-2 score implies the it's totally lop-sided match. I'm thrilled Sascha won. Good to see his great form.

      All top layers take stimulants to improve focus and reaction times, and not everyone reacts to them like Sinner. Carlos, Novak and Hugo are amongst those who get erratic mood and rage from stimulants. Novak is famous for his extreme reaction to stimulants.

This is also why Carlos, Yannick and Rune got those weird cramps after only one set in multiple matches, those are provoked by reactions to stimulants, it takes time for younger players to adjust to them and find the right dosis for their metabolism. It has been documented by several tennis insiders, it is estimated thst 50% of the top 100 take prescription stimulants to improve reaction times and focus.

This is also why you saw Rune, Sinner and Alacarz suffer from anxiety cramps after 1 set in a few matches in the adaptation period (it takes time to find the right dosis for your metabolism). The goal is to increase concentration focus and reaction times.

    I thought this was 2024 too. I deduced that Ugo read all the hate comments about his grunting and decided to do something about it. Also, Zverev seems like a different player here: tentative, way behind the baseline counterpunching, allowing Ugo to dictate the points. From this highlight reel it’s a miracle Zverev won.

      No player decides to shout to bother the opponent, it allows a relaxation and a better control of his shot. Otherwise, say that also for Nadal, Sabalenka, etc, etc.

    so many balls were bouncing around the T-line. There are at least 3 players right now in worlds tennis who will attack ALL of these balls and these two keep ralleying. Compared to this year's championship' s standard there was so much fear involved. If you saw Humbert all the way through to the S/F - he was playing so much more aggressive and convincing than in this match here. Almost all balls were played close to the baseline - same goes for Zverev. I am expecing a much more aggressively played final this year.
