Probably why it sounded rockabilly is that the Tennessee Three---Luther Perkins--W S Holland--and Marshall Grant (Johnny Cash's Band) along with Gordon Terry on the lead guitar (who I primarily knew as a fiddle player) were the back up band---and T Tommy Cutrer was the emcee. I have been fortunate enough to know and work with most of them. Blessings to the memory of George Jones. Earl P Ball

I’m 25 and my taste of music is that of a 70 year old because of him. I wouldn’t change it for the word though. Once you know quality, it’s almost a pain to listen to anything else. ❤️

North Carolina born and raised here. Back in the 50's and 60's my uncle had a moonshine still in the woods behind his house. My brother swears our daddy used to help him make moonshine back there. Our mama said she didn't know a thing about it.

This was one of George's few ventures into rockabilly. He was quite good at it though. I think he could sing most anything and do it well.
