They are all so calm and kind. I really would enjoy to hang out with them if only for one hour

I love the fact that they are all involved with writing throughout the entire process. Not, ok call me when you guys are done type thing.
I love John Myung. However, including him in a group interview seems redundant. He doesn't really need to say anything....he is content with allowing his work speak for him.... which it does in spades.
He's probably writing the next Dream Theater album in his head 😉
I met him in 2011 on the A Dramatic Turn Of Events tour and he was warm and engaging. A gentle man with a great awe about him.... and an amazing artist!

@@scottofsc I bought 200$ tickets for texas. I've never seen DT that's why. They are a big band and they are playing at semi big venues I don't think lack of sales for dt is the issue. The jazz group "snarky puppy" canceled too due to covid and they are a small group.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!!!!! They masterfully combine physics, algebra, geometry, chemistry, and calculus into an extremely enjoyable eargasm. Just incredible.
So many Rush and Yes references. I love that. They absolutely reminds me of these two band. That's why I love Dream Theater.❤
Dream Theater is my favorite band that is still around since Rush retired. But Rush will always be my favorite band of all time! Can't wait to pick up this new album!

I thought it was funny how his Dramatic Turn kit was so gigantic and he said " I need all of this to play the DT catalogue" - when Portnoy played the whole DT catalogue and his usual kit ( not counting the right side which was just for show ) was way smaller - and ha managed just fine.

From 6DOIT to BC&SL there were 4 full epics in 5 albums, it's ok to get 2 epics in other 5 albums (from ADTOE to AVFTTOTW)

John Myung's explanation of the entire writing and thought process throughout this video is how I approach my own writing. His attention to detail and how he thinks and expresses himself was brilliant in this video. I realized that if it wasn't for JM's voice in this band they would just exist. He is in the band that writes long songs but his approach is "less is more" lol

IMO Jordan has evolved far beyond a label like "keyboardist for Dream Theater" and has over the years become like DT's "Rick Wright" when it comes to composing and showing his bandmates some cool theory stuff in the writing process.
Jordan is one of the most 'complete' musicians I've ever listened to.
-Hey mr. Myung, you barely speak a word, can you talk about your process into writing and recording?
-Do you know Im tired about everybody thinks Im the quite guy?

By and large a great interview, but man, seventeen minutes and twenty-one seconds long and John Myung doesn't say a single word. I know he's known for not saying much, but in this setting it's borderline uncomfortable. He's such a stellar musician and such an integral part of DT it's a shame we can't get some of his perspective on the writing process. I know this isn't the case, but it almost comes across as if he's only a hired gun there to play some pre-written bass lines. I wish for full band interviews like this the other guys would say "look, we know you don't like to talk, but you gotta say a few things in this setting." I'm still a huge DT fan, and REALLY looking forward to the new album!
Hmm, I don't see the problem with that. John Myung has a different personality and if he's comfortable not talking, that's fine.
No he is really uncomfortable with talking so It's fine if he doesn't. Yet he still has said enough influential and motivational stuff throughout his career.
