He was and will always be a superstar to me. He was my fathers age, yet, I feel he was so much more. Much much more. That horrible illness may have taken his body, but his legacy lives on. Rudy Forever!
Nureyev was not pushed out of the Paris Opera. After 1989, he was not directeur de ballet anymore but stayed maitre de ballet and choreographer of the opera.
@01103mv I feel the same way. He cannot ever truly die for those of us who love, admire and respect him. Forever missed; forever mourned. He lives within us and within the body of work he left us. Thank God so much of his genius was filmed.
That brief tale about how the theater woman was rude to him & Rudolf looked at her "like a wounded beast" is one of the most eloquent stories I've ever heard, reveals such a tormented soul in so few words. Never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
It's not that big a mystery why the Paris Opera Ballet pushed him out. He was off doing "The King and I" in the USA making a lot of money instead of paying attention to the POB (or the show for that matter). He made a lot of positive changes in Paris, including bringing some very talented young dancers to the fore, but he also pushed his mediocre ballets on the company and never treated the director's job as though it was a year round position and insisting he dance lead roles long after he should have. What else could the management have possibly done?
Sorry but you're wrong about his heritage. All his rereading of clasdical ballets are still played in POB (swam lake, raymonda, bayadere, romeo, cendrillon, nutcracker). The public and the dancers love them. His ballets are also played at la scala, vienna ballet, swedish royal ballet, englsih national ballet... You may not like his choregraphy, but i think they are wonderful especially his swam lake.
@@r.r.c7692 Rudi was many things, but a good choreographer he wasn't. His steps were fussy and often unmusical, many of his staging concepts seem overdone and, sometimes, silly. Yes, the POB still does many of his versions of classics and, in many people's opinion, it hasn't improved that company's reputation. Yes, Bayadere was lovely, but he actually had relatively little to do with much of its choreography, while Ruane and Kurgapkina did much of it.

💝⚜🎠⚜💝 - De Magnifiques Épisodes - Our Best LOVE and RESPECT Dear ⚜💝⚜ " Rudolf NOUREEV " ⚜💝⚜
In my eyes Rudolf nureyev will forever dance
He was beautiful and a genius and strong. We were so lucky to have him in the world.
Rudolph got a chance to dance in Russia again, and see his mother before her passing. These were two amazing experiences.
Спасибо за прекрасное видео

Luigi was a hell of a lot nicer to her than I would have been, I fear.

THANKYOU❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's a lovely film, but it really ignores his conducting career and his 1992 trip to Kazan.
Poor Ruldolph… rest in peace
Показывайте больше Р.Нуреева!
Even the best dancers have to give up and retire. Plus of course the desease... Sad, very sad...
