I love dance and adored Nureyev. There was an interview sometime in 76 or 77 that I saw when it originally ran and keep hoping to find here on RUclips. However I’m wondering if it would be possible to show these without text splashed across the center ruining things. Certainty the current or past owner of this tape could have enough class to understand placement.
This Dave Cavett or whoever, is a complete lizard, keeps licking his lips and enviously glaring at Rudolph. His questions are ridiculous and I’m glad he admits he only ever got as far as the Plymouth theatre. Rudy puts him in the shadows with no effort whatsoever.
Never seen him in an interview before. They were obviously friends and Rudi was messing with him aware of the effect he had on this strait guy. Cavett doesn’t want to be gushing over him so he is a little harsh and aggressive challenging and provoking. Is there more ?
His interviews are hard to listen to, so many amazing people came to his show, but he didn't run the show very well, the interactions were full of empty or unnecessary comments.

@@Venezia41 Also, even if he was anti-Russian, Nureyev was of Tatar minority there.
It would have been so much better if the logo wasn’t in large letters across the centre of the screen
The overlaid text advertising the company is annoying.
Who said Russians didn’t know how to smile? 😳
They hold their smiles until it is genuine. They do not appreciate fake ingenious smiles.
And what a beautiful sexy smile it was 😊
This Dave Cavett or whoever, is a complete lizard, keeps licking his lips and enviously glaring at Rudolph. His questions are ridiculous and I’m glad he admits he only ever got as far as the Plymouth theatre. Rudy puts him in the shadows with no effort whatsoever.
The Russell's film was really awful. Pity Nureyev wasn't involved in more interesting films. Great legend he was and He still is. 🖇️
He is such a beautiful human. Dick Cavett needs to shut up so we can simply look at him.
That counter is hypnotising. So a single second is made up of 30 parts?
Stanislovsky Method is an acting method that requires you to become the character. You put yourself in the character's shoes. It requires much empathy.
Wish you would put your watermark under his face instead of on it.
He was accused to be betrayer of his country. Did you notice that after all these years he still says “ we in Russia…”
I think this is the open wound that he was hiding for years. Wound was caused by that stupid action of KGB in Paris.
Dick made me cringe at times.... RN was gracious.
(PS Dick seemed totally unprepared. his questions were shallow, for the most part.)
Rest in Peace!
OMG. Dick Cavett is a horrendous interviewer. He is unfocused and rude. Poor RN... how in the world did DC ever get his own talk show. HORRIBLE. I"m embarrassed for him.
DC was either attracted or dismissive of him
Sorry Dickie boy. You can't make up for your supreme rudeness knocking the film Nureyev was in by making back pedaling comments at the end. You're a mess.
I found the interviewer is wasting this precious opportunity, you have Rudolph Nureyev, and you are asking this stupid questions, is pissing me off...aghhh
I agree; celebrities tend to be more crass these days.. See the Parkinson interviews (British tv) with David Niven, Peter Ustinov, Richard Burton, Helen Mirren. (Currently there are RUclips clips, July 2024).
Great raconteurs such as Ustinov & Niven don’t exist these days..
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What is within cavett that wants to degrade the world's greatest dancer?
For He Was The Champion of The Ilium Crestis; I Was The Original Belt of Honour For The Iliaque Fosse; And He Was The Demur; Of The Posterior, Medial and Anterior Deltoids!!!!
the blond was flirting with Rudolph....😂
Why put the mark in the face him?....🙄🙄🙄🙄
Dick Cavett seams to have a crush on him !
God of Dance!
♥️❤️
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such a pity about the signage all the way through!!! Totally spoilt Mr RN🤢🤢🤢
🤗❤️😍👑
Cavett is awful here. disgraceful
If this man was to audition for a ballet company in 2023, he would told to give up and consider another profession. Too small, too stiff, too maneured and too sloppy! And that's just the physical aspect!
And you are an expert in this art form? I suppose it's difficult to hear the truth but making everyone believe you're the best and being the best are two different things! Publicity put him on a pedestal in order to sell an obscene amount of tickets. That is called marketing for those uneducated people who can't tell the difference between quality and mediocrity. I will be happy going into my grave without false pretense of being any other than myself!

He never was handsome.Nowadays there are better dancers than him.To mention a few: Barishnikof, Kimin, Vasiliev, Tsiskaridse and more.
Really? Mesmerizing
