That sounds pretty good! I have been looking to buy a new Ekit but the Yamaha Hi Hat's are keeping me from pulling the trigger. I got to check out the Efnote 14" optical Hi hat and it just feels really good but Yamaha has the better module. I wish Yamaha would update their cymbals.
efnote module looks pretty good to me though. But I'd prefer something more compact and quiet for a E-kit and the efnote one looks like it's going to take up more space, so I tried the dtx6k3x kit. So far the switch-activated functions, like cymbal edge/bell, and snare cross-stick and rimshot are not feeling as responsive as I'd hoped. With the first kit sound I also feel like there isn't a position on the hihat pedal where there's a sustained sizzle. I wonder which kit the uploader is using. (looking at the comments below, the uploader has the dtx prox module that have more detailed hihat samples)
@@80thStProductions I cant paste what I wanted to here, so go to my video of the hi hat (above) and check the text underneath. There will be some instructions there.
@@80thStProductions Hot spotting? How are you hitting it? Can you send a video of you playing it to simon@ then the name of the website in my logo? I'm curious as to what is happening.
Hi You cant without changing wiring and components. Yamaha and Roland hi hats work in different ways. You can get the pad working just by plugging it in, but you won't get the controller (open / close) working without changing the electronics in it. If you really want to use the Roland pad, then connect it to the module but you will have to use a Yamaha HH65 to control the open / close.
Hi Simon! Quick question. I have my RHH135 connected to the Hi-CTRL jack on my Multi-12 and also to jack 16/17. When I hit the Hi-Hat open I get the exact sound that is on pad #9 on the Multi-12. When I hit the Hi-Hat closed I get the sound that is on pad #12. I'm perplexed. I can't change that. Can you tell my how I can fix that? When I press on the Hi-Hat I get the correct hi-hat voice HHCL. Thank you Simon!!
Hiya. I've replied to your email separately. Its all about midi notes - you have duplicated them, which is why different pads are triggering the same thing. Easy mistake to make if you don't know about it.
@@edruminfo Thank you Simon. My new M12 is awesome, but that MIDI issues has my head spinning. I'm going to apply the fix you mentioned. Thank you again Simon!!
Hello sir, im planning to buy lemon hhc 12 hihat for my dtx6kx with dtx pro module. Will that be compatible? I cant seem to find anyone who sells this yamaha hihat locally that's is why im leaning towards buying the lenon hihats.
Hi, while the pad will be somewhat compatible, the controller data sent from it will not. Lemon use the same foot controller information that Roland do, whereas the system that Yamaha uses is different and the two are not interchangeable. So, I'm afraid that it is not fully compatible. To make it compatible, you would have to use a Yamaha HH65 foot controller plugged into the Control socket on the back of the module, and the Lemon pad output plugged into the HiHat input on the back of the module. To me its not worth it. I'd use the Yamaha RHH135 as it is.
Yes it was only text. It seemed a great explanation but can’t find it again. It appeared on the right of the screen but not showing up again. How can I find it. The text listed some settings on how to set hats up as a good starting point.
No, with the same settings it will perform identically. The main difference between the Pro and the ProX hi hats is the hi hat samples on the ProX have more detail but thats it.
@@edruminfo thanks Simon! I purchased the dtx6k the other day and going through all your videos, they are so helpful so keep up the great work you are doing! Glad Yamaha has got someone like you on board!
@@edruminfo yeah! Will play around with that soon. Actually I do have a question that I couldn't find the answer. Is there a setting to make the cymbals have less of a tone and just be more of just a shhh sound? Sorry for my lack of musical vocabulary lol
Thank you very much Simon! Really helpfull 🙏🙏
No problem. Pleased it helped

This is damn convincing
Can you show a step by step video on THE DTX PRO to obtain those awesome settings?
I'll try and do one sometime soon, but I'm working on something else at the moment so it will be a while I'm afraid

Hi Simon! Can you tell me how to program the Yamaha Multi 12 to work properly with the RHH135?

does it have a separate bell trigger ?
