The 4.3 v8 that toyota made is probably the greatest engine ever. I’m speaking purely in terms of cruising. Super silent and super smooth. It’s 2023 and I genuinely am going to get a 2005 LS430.

@adamgaynor2160 Absolutely my experience too. I've owned a VW TDI and now two modern Mazdas. 100% night & day difference in engineering. Mazda engineers sweat the little details that make wrenching on them a real pleasure. VW = 100% different story...never again.

Great to watch. One thing i dont understand about the 430 V8 is why they put the starter inside the block valley - presumably to save space - and then hang this huge oil filter assy out the side of the block?
Two things: that spot moves the starter away from the hot exhaust; and if the starter fails, there are no frozen exhaust fasteners to fight and break to get to it.
Guys complaining about the starter on this engine; It's really not hard to replace. And how often do you need to replace it? Maybe once every 15-20 years?
This engine assembly was so clean and simple. Until now every engine looked intimidating and unnecessarily complex it made me wish I worked at a lexus factory.
Mums old camry sportivo got totalled in an accident and upgraded to a 2006 celsior (japanese version of the ls430 with toyota badging and everything) such a solid car
Dear all that is unholy! I never knew the 4.3 V8 was a closed decked design. No wonder people supercharge or turbo those engines and they still take a beating. I knew the engine was reliable but not that over built.
