Please don't allow people to smoke cigarettes or vape in the sukah, the last time I was in crown heights for tishrei I would eat at rubashkins sukah and it was a very unpleasant experience because annoying Israeli bochrim would smoke on the property and in his sukah having no respect for other people. second hand smoke is extremely unhealthy to breathe in. That is one of the big reasons that I am not coming back to crown heights or 770 because people smoke in 770 or stand right outside and smoke and you can't enter or exit 770 without having to breathe in disgusting cigarette smoke. Rubashkin should put a big sign on his property in Hebrew and English saying that smoking cigarettes or vaping in the sukah or on the property is strictly forbidden and kick out anyone that disobeys the rules ( just because I wrote this anonymously doesn't invalidate anything i said, I am a real person who had this experience and chose to comment anonymously to protect my privacy.)
Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret just finished last night! I think the rabbinical interpretations are off an entire month. Debarim 16:1 says to observe Abib (the wild barley in Israel, and observe the new moons). The Karaite calendar is correct, here the added oral law and assimilated Calendar from the pagan Babylonian captivity illustrate that the Torah is to be followed in all aspects of life. HalleluYah!
@@levhart32 Hi! Glad you considered my comment. But respectfully, what do the scriptures say about adding to the Torah and changing times and seasons with pagan months such as Tammuz and Nisan: Am I a fool to follow the Elohim of Yisrael and Moshe instead of the ego inflated oral law? Please consider as a student of scripture: " And you shall be very strong to guard and to do all that is written in the Book of Mosheh, so as not to turn aside from it right or left" Yahoshua ben Nun 23:6, "Do not add to the word which I command you, and do not take away from it" Debarim 4:2, "These words Hashem spoke to all your assembly, in the mountains from the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a loud voice, and He added no more." Debarim 5:22, "Do not add to His words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a lier." Mishle 30:6, "But the message of Hashem you no longer remember! For every man's message is his own word, for you have changed the words of the living Elohim, Yahweh Sabbaot (of Hosts), our Elohim" YirmeYahu 23:36, "Her cohanim have profaned the set apart place, they have done violence to the Torah" Zephaniah 3:4, "And Hashem says, "Because this people has drawn near with its mouth, and with its lips they have esteemed Me, and it has kept its heart far from Me, and their fear of Me has become a command of men that is taught!", YeshaYahu 29:13, "And the house of Yisrael have said, 'The way of Hashem is not right.' Are My ways not right, O house of Yisrael? Is it not your ways that are not right?" Ezekiel 18:29 I disagree with your assessment of me as a "fool", because I opine that a study of the Torah and history itself abstrusely defends my position. The Oral Laws and traditions are not supported by the Torah, and are in fact even condemned by the Prophets of Israel. The a potion and mixture of the pagan Babylonian calendar of the Fertile Crescent area of Mesopotamia with the calendar of Hashem is the root cause of many keeping the Holidays late by one lunar month. The calendar in the scriptures, unlike that of the Tigris / Euphrates area, is a strictly lunar calendar. The Gregorian solar calendar used today is also different from the Scriptural one; but let's not deliver into that. In the scriptural calendar there is a method given to set the first month in the spring if there arises a choice between 2 lunar months. This check on the calendar is done by the descendents of Aaron, the Cohen Gadolim in Israel. In spring of 2024 they searched for and documented the wild barely in modern Israel at the "Abib" stage of development of the grain. This comes from Debarim 16:1, and confirms the first scriptural month of Abib. The ancient Babylonian month Nisan has no bearing on this calculation. The rain falls onto the wild barley in the land of Israel, the barley head develops and reached a technical stage called "Abib / Aviv" which confirmed the first day of the year in the spring which determines Pesach, Shavuot, Yom Ha Teruah, Yom Kippurim, Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret. The Karaite is correct this year supported by the Torah, the sighting of the new moon in the spring, and the confirmation of the first lunar month by the barley reaching the Abib stage in the land of modern Israel.

“NO SMOKING” signs must be everywhere in and around the sukkah. They must go stand on New York Ave to smoke.
