First, open the box and lay out all the components, including the bobbin rest, tools, spare parts, and material clip. Secure the base by using the provided Allen wrench to lock it in place. Adjust the stem's height for stability, ensuring it doesn't budge while you work. Use the metal pin provided to tighten it securely, preventing any unwanted movements.
Next, fine-tune the vise's arm to your preference, making sure it's not overly tight for easy maneuverability. Check the handle on the back, and if loose, tighten it using the smaller Allen wrench. Install the bobbin rest by sliding it into place and fastening it securely. Then, assemble the material clip by attaching the plastic piece with the included O-ring, and secure the spring to it.
To ensure your hook stays in place, adjust the tension with the knob provided, keeping it firm but flexible enough for easy rotation. You can tighten it further if needed for precise positioning. With these simple steps, you're ready to embark on your fly tying journey with confidence!
