    Glen Hadden is at it again…here is the second Roo Systems Myth Busted video showing real-world towing of 2.5t trailer over the Gateway Bridge in Brisbane, Queensland and how the performance is affected by various power upgrades.
    It’s raw and it’s real, watch Gleno shake down the myths on enhancing the performance of 4WDs that have a DPF exhaust.
    Using a LandCruiser 76 series this time Gleno shows step by step the numerous benefits a quality DPF-back exhaust system with a Flash Tune (aka ECU Remap) does to a 4WD.
    You’ll be gobsmacked, you’ll be impressed…watch the video and let the facts speak for themselves!

    Watched both videos and talked to a mate who had his Navara done by you guys. Great results! Looking forward to see what you can do for my D22 when I get back to Brissy.

    Great Video, and great to see an informative R&D that cover the typical mods! now any chance of doing same to the Mighty 200 Series with DPF?

    surely the lowered egts will affect the way the dpf does a regen... would be interesting to see how long the dpf lasts with the tune

    Great work Glenno. I saw the boost get up to about 10 psi with standard form. 15psi with the remap, 16-17 with the exhaust and remap. I've got a 2016 dual cab (pre dpf). I've got a straight through exhaust and just wondering if the flash tune is same for each vdj motor or customized for each car? What's the limits of the factory turbo? More boost and lower air fuel ratio seems to be the formula.

    I noticed the boost was higher,what would happen if boosts were the same

    I think it's great what you have achieved, great work!... But... I have a question...With flash tuning & aftermarket exhaust systems & cooler exhaust Temps, don't you need the exhaust Temps to be, well... hot for the dpf to work in regards self cleaning & soot burn offs??

    You need the egt when dpf does a burn. Have you thought of a way to get temps high enough for dpf burn?

    Hi I have a new 2017 76 series. currently getting 11-12 litres per 100km. I am interested in getting the exhaust and remap. What differnece will it make to my fuel use. I assume more power means more fuel. Also what would the same as the video set me back?

    would fitting the dpf back exhaust to my 79 with out tuning do long term damage to the engine?

    Any data about durability of busted Toyota engines? the original ones are legendary.

    Do you have to upgrade clutch with the tune ?

    So non DPF 79 with chip and pipe ended up producing 170 max @ 400deg, the 76 tune with chip and pipe mods ended up 198.1 max @ 350 deg, is the DPF model improved by Toyota in other areas as well, can’t see why the DPF would improve performance understand it improves emissions, but even stock there is quite a difference, 79/134 hp max 450deg vs 76/148 hp max 480 deg, great your tunes are effective as it seems it not only improves low and top overall power but also be better for emissions being more efficient, everyone wins, one thing this a,so proves though which is missed and very important, DPF backlash is more to do with EGT temps that’s what does the damage in the long run or short run as many have found out especially in the US, Powerstrokes, Rams and Chevys etc, so this mod is a good thing as to me the main benefit is lower EGT temps with overall power gains. Good work, great testing, enjoyed both.

      DPF would not improve performance, Toyota also put new injectors in the update model and a larger bonnet scoop to reduce intercooler temps further. These things would explain more power.

    Great results Gleno. Im in Sydney and will go see nsa automotive. Id like to know the chip you used in this mate. Optimizer or Touring & Towing? And was it the 409 stainless steel exhaust or the legengex? Thanks Gleno.

    What about the toyota warranty if it is a new vehicle within the warranty period ?
    I have heard that toyota will not recognise any engine issues, if it has been re mapped.

    What does chipping / re-map do to your Toyota new car warranty?

      I see you didn't get an answer to this question but I can tell you with my 2018 Triton this procedure would void engine warranty. The sellers of these products never mention this. Some I have spoken to just refer you to the dealer, when they know the answer. Its the same story with catch cans.......

    • @Smokeyr67
      @Smokeyr67 3 года назад

      @@rogerchambers1309 actually the burden is on the dealer to prove that any mods caused the damage - if they refuse a warranty claim without any evidence a letter from your solicitor will usually rectify their attitude.

    As a pilot when I lean the fuel air mixture out it increases the EGT (fact). Please explain how leaning out on your tunes decreases EGT?

    • @danielperdikis5598
      @danielperdikis5598 5 лет назад +3

      Diesel works different to other fuels. On a non turbo diesel, there is no throttle body. The power output relies on how much fuel is injected. Less fuel, less power and more fuel, more power etc.
      On a common rail turbo diesel, the tuning changes to fuel timing, duration, and wastegate in which causes the turbo to make more boost, resulting in more air into the engine and a leaner mixture. Add a little more fuel for added increase in power and the results are shown.

    • @gregh7457
      @gregh7457 5 лет назад

      He's talking about EGT's when you lean out the mixture not power

    • @danielperdikis5598
      @danielperdikis5598 5 лет назад +3

      With diesel, leaner mixture = less heat = lower egt's. Richer mixture = more heat = higher egt's

    • @gregh7457
      @gregh7457 5 лет назад

      I posted a/f and egt's for a gas engine... duh.. I should know better since i just repaired a diesel engine that has a dpf. My exhaust valve seats were pitted from high temps which were caused by the dpf regeneration. i.e. injectors dumping fuel into the engine to burn off soot in the dpf. You are correct sir.
      The extra fuel is still burning in the exhaust and that heats up the turbos which in turn heats the air charge and make the fuel ignite sooner.

    • @danielperdikis5598
      @danielperdikis5598 5 лет назад

      @@gregh7457 Thats interesting about the valve seat pitting. I have a 79 LC with dpf which is stock. If you have a tune that resulted in lower exhaust temps, would the dpf regeneration still be as effective compared to standard?

    Australia is far behind the rest of the world.
    All ypur tune is doing is
    More boost
    More timing advance
    And a little more fuel
    Wolla more power
    But
    Timing advance causes production of more nox what is your solution to that?

      Tuners in other countries also reduce emissions? I call bullshit
