    The S5 is easily my secret favorite camera. SO much so, that I own six of them now for producing multicamera productions and for my personal talking head content. It ticks all the boxes in a lot of ways for me and is the best bang-for-the-buck camera on the market! Great video

    After tons of research, bought an S5 earlier this year. Best bang for the buck across the board. Ended up with 3 of them, as well as several l-mount lenses as my primary gear. As per auto focus, it isn't as perky and precise as dfd, but certainly not bad in 90% of situations, and of course I'm using manual focus mostly either way. I'd say it's the closest you can currently get to a cinematic camera for a fraction of the budget.

      I'm considering this camera, but I have one question ❓ how is it in low light?

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  Год назад +1

      @@blackghostofcl It won't beat a Sony if that's what you're asking hahah. But for reference, it has a dual native ISO of 640 and High base ISO of 4000. So quite promising from the specs alone.
      Would've love to test the S5 against a Sony for low-light performance in this video, but it would've extended this video way too long 😅
      Thanks for watching! Appreciate your support

      @@TECH360TV ok then make another video, a comparison between the two of them that's would be lovely and helpful
      Thank you very much for your effort and answering the community question's

      @@blackghostofcl In one word, excellent. You can watch youtube videos and learn more about the camera's iso capabilities.
      I have owned sony cameras in the past and I don't miss them at all. The kit lens is very sharp at 20mm. The 50mm 1.8 from panasonic is also very good for filming in lowlight. Don't forget, lowlight does not mean no light.

    That was a great honest review. I agree it is a good question, why is that Panasonic cannot just ditch their contrast auto focus...It does not work, it is not reliable... Come on Panasonic Change this old software technique . Most of us don't like it because it makes no sense.. unreliable. It has been years we have been telling them, don't they listen? They must be very stubborn .. Maybe Taurus like me..:))))))

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  Год назад +1

      hahaha dont think stubbornness is the issue. Could have a lot to do with their manufacturing. Might also be a loss to us consumers as it might cost more if fitted with some other AF system. But I for sure would hope they change it entirely as well. Contrast AF is way too unreliable

    16:03 Double the price of the A7s III?

      haha yea might've messed up that sentence.
      Was trying to say the A7S iii is twice the price here in Malaysia.

    Hi! Great vid. Just starting to play around with these, got myself a S5 and I really like it. I know that AF is not great and I am wondering - how did you film some of the opening scenes of the video with the car - everything seems to be in focus always, especially when you go from far to near (car silhouette), and basically all the pan movements. Did you use AF and it simply worked or did you use some sort of focus pull device and operated it manually?

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  Год назад +1

      Hello thanks for watching! Some of them were manually focused and handheld, but it was also a relatively sunny day so the aperture settings were above f/16. Wasn't much depth of field to work with anyways. :D

    I have Panasonic s5 for a year now..
    My big problem is i need to shoot jpeg streat out of the camera..for people portrait.
    But i cant get the right settings for the best picture profile ,white balance and skin tone..
    Blease give me the best settings for my camera.
    Thangs alot for every thing ^_^,,

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  Год назад

      "Best" settings don't exactly exist cause it varies from different users and usually a creative choice. But if you were to ask me, anything in REC 709 has been picture profile of choice. Just make sure your White Balance settings are correct and skin tones should come out accurately.

      The photos are beautifu! Panasonic´s kit lens is great for normal shots and landsacapes. The Panasonic 50mm and especially the 85mm L-mounts are very good for people.
      The Sigma L-mount lens are very good, but also more expensive than the Panasonic lens.

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  Год назад

      They're great too! Just might not perform as great to other photo-centric cameras. Contrast AF should serve you well for portraits and landscapes. It might not be as great for fast moving subjects though.
