    The reason I already sold my sigma 18-35, because I loose a lot of features in aps-c mode with S5. I mean different slow motion frame rates, bitrates, resolution chioces, etc. That is why I use FF lenses with S5.

      To each their own. The 18-35 is an APS-C lens, so moving to 4k 60 there's no crop since it is already APS-C. Now when shooting with Lumix's 24 - 70, if you switch over to the 4k 60 you get that crop that equals to around 50mm or so, the 18 at the apsc is still technically wider. If they release a native 18-35 f1.8 full frame lens, I'd definitely switch to that though.

      @@jeremybfilms thanks the fast response. I didn't mean crop factor. I mean I loose many possibilities about formats, bitrates, frame rates. Especially high frame rates to slowmo.

    I wish I could have gotten down with the Black Mamba cage, it wasn’t secure to my S5 and bent the frame of the cage when I had a firm grip.

    What size Rod that you use?

    Question man, is there a difference with using the Atomos Shinobi w/ the S5 versus using the Atomos Ninja 5 w/ the S5?

    • @kitsellwood
      @kitsellwood Год назад

      Shinobi is just a monitor. Atomos Ninja V has recording (10bit max) externally to SSD like for 5.9k ProRes RAW. There is an SSD slot on the back of Ninja V. Shinobi is just for monitoring, applying LUTs so you can see final image etc. This is why Ninja V is double the price sometimes more.

      The screen size & technology for Shinobi and Ninja are basically the same 1080p viewing - Both 1000 nits brightness as well. I think only the construction differs from all plastic (Shinobi) to mix of plastic and alloy (Ninja). There would be no difference if you are just using as a monitor, hope that helps.

    I really get bad delays when using monitors

    • @jeremybfilms
      @jeremybfilms  Год назад

      Yep, there's like a half second or so delay, it's rough and I hate it. But I've gotten used to it, sort of. Although Panasonic needs to fix this. Hopefully in a firmware update.

      @@jeremybfilms Thanks, I'm still new to the s5 and trying to color test footages but I bought this just to get into wedding films, what tips/gears and stuff do I need to get started? Also your color grading is on soft side/dreamy and sometimes I like to use that kind of grading! Yeah, the delay of the monitor made me remove my monitor. ;(

    18-35 not the best option - sold it for 24-70 FF

    Get rid of the rods, the side handle, the follow focus. Get rid of the cage and buy a half cage instead. Get rid of the huge batteries and use the actual camera battery the DMW-BLK22e battery will power the S5ii most of the day and two will keep it going a full day no question. Three or four batteries in a bag is way more than you'll need. I can't speak to the monitor but I suspect it's a similar story. Top handle and monitor on handle is a popular and effective set up. The huge NP-F battery is OTT in my opinion, I find 550's a better fit and they will give you a good two hours of continuous shooting. Don't wait for batteries to run all the way down. Swap them all out in a shoot break whether they are spent or not. That way you won't run out half way through that once in a lifetime amazing take you're so worried about. I change mine at 25%.

      None of my jobs require a setup like this if I'm being honest. But slap the S5 on a Ronin, and it's made me enough to survive.
