Thanks, really needed to see a video like this
Thank you so very very much for sharing such an informational video and making this seem so easy that I feel confident enough to give it a shot ! Also very sweet & kind of you to help your grandma 👵 Blessings and good vibes your way 🙏🏻😇
I admire this man for helping his grandmother especially today not a lot of kids would be bothered
I have been using this product for several years and it has worked great for me. I have an older desktop that came with a conventional HDD and I was getting concerned that it was near its end of life being over 8 years old. I found a nice SSD n sale and I used this software to clone the drive. It worked great and I have my old drive as a backup. Thank you for the video.
Give the guy a break. He posted this vid honestly, and to help us. Not his fault there is now a charge for the software fer cryin' out loud.
This tutorial was good, with only a couple of glitches. The biggest one for me was the wait as the data was moved from the old HD to the new SSD. You should say "it make take several hours".
I stopped twice because there was no data moving at 44% done. If I had only waited a few more HOURS it would have worked. I let my final attempt run all night. When I got up this morning it showed that the files had moved from the old disk to the new SSD. Took the old disk out, installed the new one and BINGO. My new, super fast SSD has brought new life to and old and now retired HD.
The only other glitch was I could not work around the PAY NOW to play of the software. I could not find anything FREE. So, it does work but it's gonna cost ya $40 some dollars.
Smacking lips? Ugh! Hard to follow on first try, second and third, too. However, I had your presentation on my second computer and stopped the show every step. Thanks and it worked!! Give grandma a big hug!
i wish my grammar played call of duty too :) thanks for the vid dude
Good Job! Thanks Much. Just FYI, Even though it says free, it is no longer free.
Very good Video. Have two questions please.
1) Bought new DELL Desktop Mini Tower 3891 Inspriron with Intel i5 10400. Has WINS10 PRE installed on a small 256G SSD. I bought/installed new Ram Sticks(2x16G) and 2T M.2 SSD.
1a) Did I do wrong in taking out the PRE installed 256G SSD because I am going to CLONE my 3T SATA Folders/Files which measures a total of 429G, which has WINS10 ALREADY on it. Should I LEAVE 256G SSD in, setup Computer/Update THEN take it out, then put new 2T SSD in then Clone??? I will have my 3T SATA on USB EHD to CLONE to 2T M,2 SSD. Need guidance. What would you do???
2) Finally. switching out SSD the screw to secure the 2T M.2 SSD tightens good but I noticed a slight bend in the SSD so I backed it off. I don't want it to be TOO loose for reasons and come a "little" bit loose then my Computer go nuts. Any help THANKS.
Thanks for your comment and I'll try to help you the best I can.Since the 3tb already has windows 10 on it and you want to transfer it to the 2tb,take out the 256g it came with.Add the 3tb in the pc and use it as a boot drive(the main drive which windows is loaded on) and use that for the cloning process.Clone the 3tb directly to the 2tb.Essentially leaving the 256gb drive out unless you need it for extra storage or something like that.If this doesn't help you please ask me any further questions and I'll try to answer them best I can.Have a nice day.
Warning! If you are cloning a large drive, say 500GB-1TB, expect the transfer to take more than 10 hours, especially on USB2! (USB3 is better, but still takes forever). Best to plan to run it at least overnight.
Hi thx for the how to use ssd. But now I need to know how do I use my old windows 10 with the new ssd so it turns on faster and use it faster? And how do I disable the hdd and use new ssd?
It's still free....I did it. ha ha ha
This is the easy to do thank you AOMEI and Velocity
it ain't free for me :(
You are right. It's 🚫 not free now.
Not free anymore!
Can you clone Game console drives like Xbox One S? to make my hard drive larger...
Hello, What is that cord called again??? the one that plugs into the SSD into the HDMI?
It should be called a sata to usb cord/cable.
i think there is something chants😂 i have too sine up now at the AOMEI! shoettttttttt!!!!!
It's not free paywall keeps blocking the free trial
LOL at cutting the SSD packaging open with an old rusty army knife and making more mess than necessary. 😂
How would you clone a C and D drive , to a new SSD Hard Drive with lots of storage ? Would they automaticly clone one by one , C then D drive ?
Do the c and d drives have files such as pictures and pdf's or do they have operating systems like windows?
@@NC_outdoorsman The C drive have OS and the D drive have data , How do I clone both drives onto a new SSD HD with more space .
@@Peacze well you might could clone the data drive via a simple copy and paste after you clone the os (c drive) using the method in the video.
Can I migrate or clone to the newer SSD without losing:
-Files, documents, videos, pictures
-Chrome cache, data, cookies
-Current Regedit settings still remain in the OS if migrate to new SSD
-Steam files, games and save files
-My Settings configured in Windows
Or once I migrate, everything is the exact same as I left it?
Although I'm not 100% sure, I would count on it just transferring a copy of windows. However, it could transfer the entire drive.
@@NC_outdoorsman would u recommend minitool or aomei rn?
It will not clone on standard it wants me to upgrade to pro
AOMEI is NOT free. It looks free right untill you actually installed it and want to make a clone. I hate when software tricks you into installing. Please people AOMEI is not free with any of the important functions like cloning or backing up a disc. HDClone x.3 is free and working. I just used installed and used it myself (august 24, 2022) The only thing HDClone x.3 cannot do is clone to a smaller sized disc.
This is not free it asks you to pay to continue with your clone
apparently a fucking tripod was too much of an investment though :p
Not free anymore, you have to buy the upgraded version
Sorry about that, Some people say it still works for them and not for others.
OK.......how do you restore to a new machine?
Like how to add windows to a new machine?
@@NC_outdoorsman Assuming your new machine has Windows already, how do you transfer all the data and system files to the new computer?
@@vincekleinknecht4135 I would take the new pc's hard drive or ssd and plug it in to your old desktop/laptop and use the same steps in the video.Once it's transfered plug the new hdd or ssd into the new pc.
@@NC_outdoorsman ok thanks
Adding a larger SSD H/D will not speed up the Laptop. Software is no longer FREE.
Software is no longer free. 😣
I just download and used it free. It's called the Standard version, right on the top of the download page. You must have missed it.
No its not free ! I downloaded it and started to clone and a window popped up wanting me to buy pro for over 40 diollars and it stopped the clone process. LLies not free!!!!
No, it's free. You have the same problem I had. Your ssd is set to MBR not GPT. When you set ur ssd to GPT it will allow u to clone it for free. Heres the link on how to do that

Thank god for youtube
@@paulneg7855 This does not work. Even with setting it to GPT, the application asks to be upgraded before cloning. Not a free program at all.
@@curtleycoerecius7842 You're doing something wrong because I just did it 8 days ago for free
For free you can't change the size of the clone partitions (Copy without resizing partions) is your only option. If you're cloning to a larger drive size you will have to increase the size of the partition afterwards with disk management, or some other partition manager.
Cloning a mechanical HD to an SSD is the only reason my crappy ACER PC still exists.
Their setup was slower than my 10 year old PC that I was replacing and their "fix" for the problem barely made it faster, and it flies with an SSD.
DO NOT BUY ACER!
No longer free
