Looks good brother. The bondo work you did came out nice. Maybe just throw some newer Chevy aluminum wheels on it to keep it looking stock.
@@Brandon68plus1 thanks! I’d definitely like to change up the wheels a little bit!
I'm love your truck look,we're I can found the center console, look clean
What’s the bolt pattern? And would 32s fit without trimming? Also what kind of lift are you running and where did you get it
@@jeremyburke7620 best I recall the bolt pattern is 6x139.7, you could probably fit 32’s without trimming. I’m running the standard eBay shackle and tortion key lift, with extended lift shocks. And a custom 1” body lift using hockey pucks.
I’m trying to fit 33s on my Colorado with a 3inch lift how much trimming did you need to do?
@@jaker1464 there is a little trimming on the front bumper but I believe that was it. I’d did rub some on the rear inner fender well when it had a lot of flex since the tires were so big and the wheels had a lot of offset since the were oem.
I wouldn't mind finding one of these still in good shape and without a ton of miles..although I'll probably have better luck with the 2nd gen Colorado. Nice truck!
@@TREVORJB101 there are definitely still some gems out there! Especially if you can find one with the 5.3 vortec
i just got a 2000 2500 LS v8 6.0 (barn find) for $6500. truck has 96,000 miles no lights and drives like a dream. old man changed the fluids when needed and had brand new cooper tires with 1,000 miles on them.
@@cBetweenTheLines that sounds like a dream find! Truly awesome trucks!
I bought a 08 Silverado 5.3 2wd for $2500 with 160k miles extended cab. Love it. It was a ranchers work truck
@@drew5992 awesome price for an awesome truck!
Cool truck.
@@cltracy2921 thanks you! It’s definitely unique!

LMC Truck is a great resource.
@@BrandonGodfrey-yi7tc I just bought some parts from them today! Awesome website with a lot of different parts.
What kind of battery are you using & how many hours will it last? Nice video, thank you:)
@@jimbuckendorf4293 the specific one I am using is a 12v 5ah battery off of a trailer brake box. But any smaller 12v atv style battery should work just fine. I’ve used it upwards of all day and it hasn’t given me any trouble lasting that long.
What arm did you use for the transducer?
At this point in the build, I used a Scotty grand removable arm. Later on, I changed it which you can see in my more recent build videos.
@@NC_outdoorsman very cool man, thanks. i'm working with a 10 foot pelican boat which is a composite plastic that i don't wanna drill into but can clamp stuff too. did the arm work pretty well? edit: also wanted to say, i've used an everstart boat battery before and it worked great for me. my trolling motor measures battery life in 1-5 bars, and i could use the battery all day and still have 2 or 3 bars leftover.
@@robloxandminecraftgamer9350 the clamp does great for a slower boat, when I went from the 2hp to the 10hp it was dragging along the side and caused water to splash up. It would probably be perfect for the pelican boat. Yeah I’m completely satisfied with the battery, no complaints at all!
@@NC_outdoorsman I think it sounds pretty perfect as well, I don't even have an gasoline motor on it lol. I just use a little 55 lb thrust trolling motor and run a few mph
@@robloxandminecraftgamer9350 It should work awesome then! Let me know how it goes!

Thank for the video! One of the best videos I’ve seen for setup demonstration 😊 a beginner could follow this to a tee! ✅
@@egACRE glad it helped you!
This is the exact set up I am doing and you have the same battery I was going to buy 😂😂😂
Did it come with the transducer an what not ?
@@paulstephens3513 I believe all of the striker 4’s do, but check when you buy it to make sure.
A reason why this is so cheap is maybe because it has the infamous Cologne V6 engine that is famous for having timing chain problems. When the one in the back goes, the whole engine has to come out. I heard that is a $3000-$4000 job.
@@mr.2cents.846 I have heard of the timing issues on the v6’s. Thankfully this one is the v8.
Wish mine was like yours my gram falling apart and my ours electrical issues I would suggest no one buy this truck it’s jsut been headaches
Man keep this series going bro, I’m 17 and I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado and seeing videos abt the same exact truck helps a lot 🤙🏾.
@@Tyler_85215 thanks man! I’ve got an update coming soon!
Clean truck. My '04 YXL looks a million times better without the door bumpers, badges and side steps. Also have recent Z71 18" rims. Seems to work visually well. Do the grill and tail lamps.
@@Jason1fromNYC all great ideas, I would like to do the taillights soon!
Should’ve put a 2014 bumper bolts right up
you should do a series on fixing it up and getting it running better over time
@@CSquared092 that would make an awesome series!
Where did you get the grille guard
@@ItzF0rg3 it was a generic eBay one, and the lights came from harbor freight.
Paid the same price for my single cab 4.3 all stock 👍🏽
That’s awesome!!
Nice ride. I would suggest rock guards. If you are a fabricator they are not too expensive. Fabricator buddies are great too!
Those would be awesome!
Nice ride! I have a 2012 GMC Canyon same body, love it. You mentioned installing full wrap brush guard but wouldn't fit Z71 or on mine OFF ROAD. Just remove cross member under radiator. Fits great! Wish I could send pic
Thanks for the input! Glad to know it’s so simple!
Great looking truck looks good in the silver. Here in canada i just bought a 2000 GMC 2500 ext cab long bed for $2800. Similar spec to yours manual 4x4 manual windows no cruis but does have AC. Happy woth it although the rockers are bad and box is a bit beat up, super happy with it on the whole. Cant beat the vortec engines in my opinion for reliability and power.
$2800 is an awesome price! The are awesome trucks!
even with that damage this is a steal. I hope that you enjoy the truck over the long term
Thank! I sure am so far! Working on the next video for it!
Wow this brings back so many memories growing up and being a passenger on this hog!
They are a lot of fun for sure!
Take the steps off. Makes it appear taller and will give you about 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches of clearance on the sides for rock crawling
I've got an '06 Chevy, Z71, 4x4, extended cab, 280,000 + miles. Rough shape but it did drive good until the fuel tank almost fell out & the frame cracked. Repairing it I found the frame pinholed. As of now it's sitting & I'm thinking on how much I could spend on it. We're talking a used frame, used rear axle & some body work. I loved this truck before this happened & really hate letting go but think of how much all of that could cost?
Good Job on the build young man. keep up the fun videos. dale
I am surprised to be the first one to comment on your video sir. Looks like you put a lot of time and effort into this. I think it will be a fun boat for you. I had a 14 foot trackers for quite sometime and it looks very similar to yours. I had a 5 HP on it and it still runs like a champ. My buddy down the street from me has it now,. We want out in it the other say, last Thursday and I was able to teach him how to use his new boat. He has never owned a boat and he picked it up quickly. On your trolling Motor, I think you may be able to cut that shaft down to help you out with it being too long, Might check on it, but a lot of them can be cut down some. I did notice the alligator, How fun, your mom did that. Awesome she did a great Job. Thanks for sharing this build update and tell your mom she did a great job on the gator. Keep up the fun videos. Dale. PS subbed you as well.
Thank you for your kind words! Building and customizing things so that they are unique to me has always been one of my passions. I will most definitely look into the cutting down the trolling motor, that had never occurred to me before. These are awesome and fun boats no matter what you do with them, I’m glad your buddy was able to buy yours! Thank you for your support on the channel, I primarily do it as a way to help people with their own builds and projects! I’m glad you liked the alligator, it’s one of my favorite parts of the boat! Have a blessed day!
Back of the cab has damage due to the bed smashing into it when it was hit.
Nice truck..they last forever if we take care of them...2003 is still going well and looks pretty good.
@@williamcolson3765 absolutely! They’re built like tanks, easy to work on, parts are readily available, thousands of how to videos and tons of advice. That’s why I’m keeping mine and don’t mind dropping a couple of hundred bucks on it every so often. 2006 RCLB
Overload shocks aren’t the best idea . The shock mounts aren’t designed to carry weight. I would go air bags or like you said add a leaf or all new spring pack. Just my thoughts but otherwise nice work truck. 👍🏻
I see, I’ll have to look into that. I’ll see how it does stock and if it’s an issue I may look into bags or add-a-leaf
Love the setup bub!
@@jeffdouglas5325 thanks!
after seeing this video and another guy in the comments saying he had one for only 2k i feel like i got ripped off for buying a 07 colorado (not silverado) for 2.5k it seemed like a decent deal with everything working and it had 108k miles but idk now 😅
No not at all. I’d say mine and the other guy you mentioned would classify as really, really, good deals (borderline steals). I had an ‘04 Colorado with 240k miles that I paid $4,250 for and sold for 5k. Paying 2.5k for own with 108k miles sounds like a heck of a deal to me.
@@NC_outdoorsmanI just got an 04 gmc sierra 1500 reg cab long box 2wd 140k miles 5.3l auto, for 2,500, the market is nuts but there’s still good deals to be had, just gotta jump on em cause they don’t last long
@@jasonbarrett320 they are few and far between but are definitely still out there!
Great truck !
Thank you!
About to slap mine on a 12 foot V hull I’ve been restoring. Does your cavitation plate match your transom bottom?
It sure did. As long as its s short shaft and your transom is for a short shaft you should be good.
@@NC_outdoorsman nah she measures 17” and my long shaft motor is 19”. Gonna make an extension off the top of the transom and bring them to match each other
@@74nova36 I’d say a jack plate wouldn’t hurt anything but you should be fine. I’d research it a little more but I wouldn’t think any major issues would occur.
Nice truck I always liked the cat eye trucks
Thank you!
Keep an an eye on your reared mine went bad after I was hit in my Silverado and it started to make a noise
I'll have to keep that in mind. Thanks!
Thanks bro
Thank you for that.
Just paid 13 OTD at a small dealer here in Cali. It’s a 4 door 4.8 with 130 miles. It was on par for what’s on market place. You got a steal for 2800 bucks
Good purchase, damage on a truck is ok, just gonna get used anyway, this way you dont have to worry about messing it up.
My thought exactly!
Greensboro, NC Acedemy Sports had three trailers on the sidewalk Sunday when I was there.
I’ll have to look into that!
Great Video, I would like to see how you going to repair the rear damage
Will be posting on that soon!
My trailer came new with my 2024 Lowe 1440M, so taking a look at the Acedemy Sports trailers which was on sale for $799.99 recent! I could tell my trailer was another level above those just the way the frame is made, I would still buy an Acedemy Sport trailer because it should be easy to get a title for it being brand new.
I looked at those but sadly I couldn’t get ahold of one. They were either out of stock or on back order.
What ah battery are you using?
