I just got a 2005 Silverado 1500 (floor shift) 4x4, 2 door long bed, with 157k on it and it’s a work truck model as well. Had to replace the back 2 frame cross members and weld in new ones (got from eBay), and primed & painted the back half of the frame, and just put in Bose door speakers from a Suburban from the junkyard. By far, one of the best daily/work trucks I’ve ever had!! The best part, only paid $2000 for it 6 months ago. Plus, I have a 2005 LLY Duramax that I have as well that sits at home to tow our camper on the weekends or for long, far away camping trips.
Just paid 13 OTD at a small dealer here in Cali. It’s a 4 door 4.8 with 130 miles. It was on par for what’s on market place. You got a steal for 2800 bucks
Overload shocks aren’t the best idea . The shock mounts aren’t designed to carry weight. I would go air bags or like you said add a leaf or all new spring pack. Just my thoughts but otherwise nice work truck. 👍🏻
Hey man I have one of those trucks and I have a mint condition folding center console. I had just replaced the lid on it but I found a steal on a full center console. I can give it to you super cheap if it would help you out. It’ll just sit in a corner otherwise.
Also I’m about to order another set of fog lights to match some new headlights they’re not perfect but you can have those for free probably can wire them up to an aftermarket switch
@@NC_outdoorsman bro I haven’t forgot about you. The dude I was buying the console on flaked and everyone else wants crazy numbers. Soon as I find one I got you still lol
How is that totaled? It just needs a bedside and a rear bumper, and possibly a new receiver hitch if it's even bent at all. I just backed into a dang telephone pole with my truck this past summer and had worse damage than that, and my insurance company did not total the truck, but it was about 5k to repair it.
I know it's crazy. I honestly expected them to total mine, but when I got the estimate, the fella at the body shop told me that to them it wasn't a real big job it was just an expensive one. He said that as long as the frame wasn't bent, they usually they won't total a vehicle. Great channel, BTW
after seeing this video and another guy in the comments saying he had one for only 2k i feel like i got ripped off for buying a 07 colorado (not silverado) for 2.5k it seemed like a decent deal with everything working and it had 108k miles but idk now 😅
No not at all. I’d say mine and the other guy you mentioned would classify as really, really, good deals (borderline steals). I had an ‘04 Colorado with 240k miles that I paid $4,250 for and sold for 5k. Paying 2.5k for own with 108k miles sounds like a heck of a deal to me.
@@NC_outdoorsman I thought it was pretty average priced until I got on marketplace and saw what everyone was wanting for older chevys. Very happy with the truck and price

they are awesome trucks, and the amount of aftermarket/swapable parts is even better!
Back of the cab has damage due to the bed smashing into it when it was hit.

I see, I’ll have to look into that. I’ll see how it does stock and if it’s an issue I may look into bags or add-a-leaf
Looks real nice, and dang what a price. 👊
Thank you!
Nice truck I always liked the cat eye trucks
Thank you!
Good purchase, damage on a truck is ok, just gonna get used anyway, this way you dont have to worry about messing it up.

Insurance is so funny about stuff, with these older vehicles I see trucks with minor bumper damage get totaled all the time.

Good on you. Frame OK underneath?
It has some light service rusted here and there but otherwise it’s totally fine.

I just paid 6 for an 04 2500 hd 6.0 with 185k on it,I’d say you got a pretty good deal.
I sure did but it sounds like you did as well!

@@lordserpentine8246 it seems that they get more expensive every day.

Will do, I appreciate it 💯
