Next you should get the most hated F-150 (the 2004 Ford F-150 5.4 Triton) I have a 5.4 and it’s a great truck never had an issue and I work that thing every day it’s also mint condition
SCT is one of the best tuners for the 6.0 in my opinion. Even with canned tunes. Also the little hook below the cup holders is a “panty” holder. I’ve owned a few 6.0’s. They are one of my all time favorites.

Never trust a person who lets there fuel light on a diesel come on. Also no need to put it in neutral. Take the shifter and hold it up while you start the truck. It will work it’s a Ford thing for the older ones. You can replace the problem, but the easiest way is do what I said above.
Biggest failure for fuel systems is leaving the vehicle running or over filling once the pump kicks off… both are the worst thing you can do and ruin your fuel system! This is going to be an epic build and I’m so glad to see Larry finally gets a family member that runs… Can’t wait to see what you do with the 6.0, a monster when built?!!!… L…A…R…R…Y…!!!
I don’t care if they are unreliable, 6.0’s are one of my favorite trucks ever made, they sound really good and something about the looks of the truck just make it seem like a real truck to me.

maybe a not liked truck engine on fb but the F-250 isnt hated lol. You can covert it to coil spring fron suspension pretty easily. I converted my Excursion to a Dana 60 with coil springs and love it! btw, you should get an Excursion and get the biggest suv ever made lol.
New style lariat stocks and 35 trails, new style mirrors, 05^ single piece headlights. And you know the usual lasfit upgrade! Ugh makes me miss my excursion!
Also with the 6.0s make sure the coolant is halfway between full and empty, any over that it’ll spew with the pressure. I had great luck with mine hopefully the same for you 🤙🏽
It's a love hate relationship with them, when they are good they are great, when you start having issues it's one thing after another then your good to go for a while. Definitely keep good batteries in it, the 6.0 electrical system hates weak batteries!
Thats so cool. Love my 6.0. Funny because you got chomper like the same time i got my cateye, then you get this just a few months after i get my 6.0! Man take care of it and you will love it.
I wouldn't call it the most hated, I'd call it the most pitied truck because everyone knows that pretty much every 6.0 has had a new set of head gaskets at one point
the 06 and 07 were the best years for the 6.0. i had an 07 f250 6.0 cosmetic wise other than a stack it was stock but drivetrain wise it was a built truck mine had 157,965 miles before i sold it. i loved it and i still do and im happy i get to see it about everyday bc i sold it to the neighbor. id love to have it back though

I love my hoe man, it's quiet as a mouse besides typical valvetrain noise, and it keeps all its fluids amazingly. I'll need a transmission here soon but like yours I'm shooting for high miles, itll make it

_Lol no sir the 05-07 are actually the ones you want anyone can vouch for me.... it came when the updated egr cooler (less failure like b4), better water pump, better suspension (coil-spring) etc. The 03-04's were a bit or miss, but they had a better sounding turbo though due to the 10 blade vs. 13 that's why there's so many later model ones with an 03 turbo. Consider yourself lucky if you haven't had any issues or of an 03-04._
I have a 6.0 power stroke in my experience it’s been great only had problems with ball joints it has the stock motor no head studs and it’s almost at 500k miles no problems with the 6.0

You will love it!! I got a 2006 6.0 and it’s an absolute monster! So easy to work on. Cheap and they are power houses once you throw a custom tune on!
6.0s will always be my favorite. There’s never been a truck sound as good as a straight pipe 6.0

If your shifter has play in it, the bushings in the shift mechanism in the column go bad. Its a 20 minute fix

Keep the Tahoe, I sold mine at 280k. 6.0’s are awesome motors once they’re done up, but the Tahoe will be much cheaper miles
