Brancaster is amazing. I love her work. Just as an aside, Minerva also gives very good drafting tutorials. Love what you are doing, you do inspire me ❤
I love the closet historian 😊. She’s amazing. She creates jewelry and handbags as well as clothes. I created my own bodice block. It took me four hours to do 😅. I’m a beginner still in sewing and math challenged 😂. I got it done and am learning how to use my bodice block. Go me! 😁. Thank you for sharing! Your friend Diane❤
Love the closest historian, been watching her for years. I’ve learned so much from her! I love to see others being g inspired by her to make their own patterns. I’m not there yet but I want to make my own block one day.
I just love how this came out Rachel! I'm just now getting a bit more comfortable hacking my patterns so this video was really helpful for me. Great job and I have a feeling we will see a few more of this top on you 😉🍋Thanks for sharing!
It is the perfect Summer top for you! Great explanations and instructions! I love watching Bianca, The Closet Historian. Even when I'm not really that interested in what she's making I love her voice and I listen to her while I'm hand-sewing or taking apart a thrifted garment.
Thank you Rachel, so interesting & your a great teacher. Your top looks super & goes beautifully with your skirt. Will go & check out the closest historian, sounds as if there is much to learn & not sure if I am at that level yet will give it a go. Thank you.❤
The whole time I am watching you make this top, I am thinking how cool that top will be ice dyed. I have done alot of dyeing fabric and always find it's like Christmas seeing what color etc you get. Thanks
You don't have to use your sewing machine. If you use a 3- it 4- thread safety stick you can just construct with your overlocker. I'm just finishing some Hudson pants. I only used my sewing machine for the strip of fabric shopping the front pockets, just to avoid bulk. Everything else had gone through my overlocker
I just went to insert grommets into the waistband if my Hdson's and discovered i don't have the correct hole punch. Like to I'm using a bit of interesting so i can't just make a hole with an awl and force the grommet through.i was looking forward to wearing them tomorrow but now i need to wait for the punch! Your toile is looking great so far.. I'm at the point where you are feeding the cord through
I have not yet made my block as I'm losing weight. I'm making the Nell dress. I had to lower the bust day. I'm making my second toile. If it is correct I'm considering rotating the dart á la Bianca, just as you are. But I'm thinking of aFrench Dart at the waist
Thanks for your tutorial Rachel. You have inspired me to have a go. Your top looks great with your skirt.

Great video. I want 2 or 3 of these!
What a useful video! Thanks so much. The top is perfect. I’d have probably used buttonholes instead of grommets.
Brilliant idea!
