This is why I love copper pipe. If you install it wrong, you know quickly that you need to fix it before there is grief. Just unsolder, resolder, and retest the previous dripping or streaming joint or joints.

I see a lot of that "leakage" on Ward style pex fittings. I liked the UPONOR pex-a fittings better, but moved away from that land.
Interesting that all of that "de-zincing" on the brass. Been seeing more and more of it since the low lead requirement.
I've yet to see the 007 with that style flange. Might be enough to bring me back from B&G and Grundfos.

The common misconception that homeowners have is that when they call a licensed plumbing company a licensed plumber shows up. Sometimes you get a person with minimal experience who is working under a licensed plumbers license.

    • @williamrose7184

These 007e or any other water lubricated circulator can not take the heat of steam boiler. It will likely to fail with a short period of time. I would have install a B&G 100 in there, will cost a lot more, but will last. I dont like the idea of plate heat exchanger on the steam boiler, water is too muddy and could be plug up over time.
So, was the 4k just for a new plate heat exchanger or repipe it the right way with new equipment ( everhot external tankless?)

Had an issue with my gas furnace not firing/heating correctly. I called a well reviewed local hvac company, told him the issue and he was like it's probably the heat exchanger but we're not sure we're going to have to take a look at it. I made an appointment with them but upon further inspection the jets we're just clogged with saw dust from a recent renovation. I cleaned the jets and they've been firing great ever since with a nice blue flame. Cancelled my appointment and learned a lesson.

This happens a lot with elderly folks, they're an easy mark. It's pretty disgusting but it happens all the time. Nice job fixing it for them. My dad once called a plumber because his toilet had some water leaking (he didn't call me because I was working 3rd shift and he didn't want to wake me). He kind of panicked because it was towards the end and he was almost blind. Long story short, he replaced the 3 washers at the bottom of the tank. Cost was $435 dollars and that included a senior discount. This was 25 years ago.
