My two favorite songs from Rage of angels are "Do you still believe in Love" and "Rock for the Rock", great songs indeed.

I was 20 yrs old when this album came out. I was playing in a Christian rock band in 1990 and we covered "Hooked On A Good Thing" off this album. I think I still have a cassette of it but I'd have to find it. Great album end to end.

One of the great albums in Christian metal history. Unfortunately, it was their only release. Two of the members went on to join Steelheart.

Yes they did. In fact, those 2 had already left ROA by the time this album was released. Too bad. They would've been good in concert.

This album was THE unobtanium of the 1980s and 1990s. All songs written 1986 or so, recorded 97 or so. Didn't get released until 1989 AFTER the band had already broken up somewhat disillusioned with the whole music thing
Related artists would be Chrystavix, Holy Soldier (also dual guitar band), Siloam, Stryper (dual guitar, too), Zion, Shout/Ken Tamplin (all the guitars), Ransom, Fear Not, Guardian,.

One of my favorite Christian metal albums, and the entire album is solid. The only disappointment is that this was the only album that Rage of Angels released.

Some of the darker, heavier Christian bands like Believer, Living Sacrifice, Tourniquet, Mortification,
Vengeance Rising, are worth a listen.

Rage of Angels was a one a done band don't know what those other albums/singles are. But then again Spotify is not always the most accurate. The guitarist Frank DiCostanzo and drummer John Fowler (RIP 2008) went on to play with Steelheart on the first two albums. Lead singer Dan Mariano formed band called Pyn Siren and BadBoy.
I remember this album made a huge splash when it debuted back in '89 and then thinking whatever happened to this band. Internet didn't exist so they just faded into oblivion. They have a good cult following. Would be great if they came back together to perform or write new music.
Sin Dizzy is Oz Fox and Tim Gaines band they started after the Stryper breakup/hiatus or whatever they called it.

I think the label, Regency went bankrupt or close to it and the band never got paid. By the time the album was released, band had already split.

I saw Stryper once at Disney World mid 80s & Messiah Prophet once late 80s Good times
Rez Band was good too. 1983 or so

I find it kinda funny how every time this guy gets a suggestion to listen to a Christian band the song suggested for him is not even close to the best song these bands have to offer.

The self title album you are seeing is the only christian album that the original guys in the 80's did . somewhere in the years 200 another group of guys started there own band and stole the original band name for them selves.

Unfortunately this was their only album as far as I know. Not sure if that is the same band from 2013. This was the best song on the album as far as I'm concerned. Would love some Sacred Warrior. Their debut album Rebellion in 1988 would be a good place to start. Try Black Metal. They sound like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. The song Famine shows the different shades of their music and screams of Queensryche (Warning album).

Sacred Warrior rocks. One of the best Christian Power bands from the 80's along with Haven, Scarlet Rayne & Commander & Recon.

  • @slancaster77

I had/have a pretty good selection of late 1980s Christian rock/metal... Bride, Deliverance, etc. You should check out Sacred Warrior (I recommend "Stay Away from Evil", "Many Will Come" or "No Happy Endings"). Sacred Warrior is a great band and have been together a long time. Others to check out for fun: Holy Soldier, X-Sinner, Angelica (their first albums were the best... all self-titled.) These three were big, but short-lived I think. Another great band... Undercover: ruclips.net/video/6nfnWqi6Ozw/видео.html

Sin Dizzy was a side project from Oz Fox and Tim Gaines while Stryper was defunct. It's Oz on vocals. Not bad. Not great. But decent for what it is. And please for the love of all things sacred, do some Sacred Warrior. I'd recommend Rebellion, Temples On Fire, Wicked Generation, or maybe Sweet Memories. And yes, Rage Of Angels had 2 guitar players. 5 piece band.

Not bad at all...definite trendy metal sound for the time, solid riffs, and I am sure Jesus himself was jammin' to this one. 🤘😇 I believe there is another, more recent rock band (early 2000's, maybe??) with the same name but I am not certain....

This was one of the weakest tracks on this record. The first 4 or 5 are just killer!
