@@Playbeyond24 I doubt there is going to be a big push for Xbox. SE will likely branch out to PC and Nintendo, which is smart.
@@iamskyfall i agree that having their new games moving forward to launch ok both PS and PC. I can see less intensive titles to launch on all 3 but I’m wondering how a big title like FF7 part 3 would be even possible on the rumored switch 2? Do we think Nintendo would be interested in making that much of a hardware leap to handle current gen titles? Just curious
@@nino-simp I doubt FF7 Rebirth would be able to run on the Switch 2 let alone Part 3. On top of that, I'm sure Sony has a deal for Part 3 and that game will still launch as a PS exclusive.
Square fan base is on Sony and Nintendo. They barely sell on Xbox since the 360, xbone and series x. Also, 70 price tag is a lot for people a lot
Of people don’t want to spend that much money on a game and wait for a price drop or sale.

I believe majority of Square Enix players will still be on Playstation but that number has been stagnated or even declined for quite some time. It would wise for them to sell on other platforms, especially on Nintendo while also maintaing a marketing deal with Sony.
They would sell on Nintendo if Nintendo would make a console worth developing their big games for. They’e good for their smaller games though. But I don’t see a FF7 or FFXVI running on a Switch without being a Howgwarts Legacy/Mortal Kombat situation lol 😂
I think there is probably a deal that will keep FF7 Remake part 3 exclusive to PS5/6, but I can very much see FF17 being multiplatform (at least PC and PS).

Of course not, it's probably even a change in strategy resulting from this partnership.
They have a history of overestimating how much they will sell only pc sells more high end square enix games than playstation, it's never been strong on xbox and Nintendo hasn't got the power to put the big games on at least not for a generation or 2.
They should just release day and date for console and PC. I always play on console anyway, its always up to date, no BS with drivers and whatever, and so do most of console players, so this wouldn't lead to less sales on hardware or software for the PlayStation brand at all.

I think it’s time to start being a fan of the games first and any individual company second. The companies have proven that they aren’t worth putting personal stake into, and the games need help or they won’t be able to be there for us in the future.

I'm cool with Square Enix going multiplatform, but I will still buy Japanese games with a higher graphical count for the PlayStation 5.
Reason 1: As someone born in the Gameboy/Gamecube era and raised in the Wii/DS era, the fun of buying non-Nintendo-made games on Nintendo consoles has fizzled out of existence. Now that every game is on every system, I just have no reason to buy a non-nintendo game on the Nintendo Switch, let alone the Switch 2, even with the upgrades to it that should've been on the Nintendo Switch day one.
Reason 2: I don't really trust Nintendo to be up to par with modern consoles when it comes to graphical performance, even if Nintendo has a good excuse for their console to be completely underpowered and boring as hell.

When you have to cater to the switch you get no sky like otherworld and you get same generic crap like rise that’s what square is if they do this the teams are gone they got rid of them, all to cater to switch and serise s, we will never get anything like remake ever again because of this. FF isn't normie enough to be exclusive and expect big sales. The audience is definitely there, but it's across all platforms.
Final Fantasy was a massive system seller years ago, but it hasn't been that for years. Future games should launch, at least, on PC and PS day 1.
In what world is selling 3 million in a week on a console with a low install base not "big sales"? 95% of jrpgs would kill to sell even half of that.
@@wood1066 FFXVI was successful. The SE reports also confirmed that FFVII Rebirth was also a success. I think the problem is that 3 million might not be enough to recoup costs. 3 million at $70 equates to $210 million. Factoring in the massive marketing budgets for both XVI and VII Rebirth, the games may have broken even, but likely struggled to make a profit. On top of that, those were not anywhere near enough to make up for SE's other failures.
@@iamskyfall I know I was just addressing the fact that people act like FF doesn't sell well which is an absolute lie. There's maybe like only 3 or 4 jrpg series that surpass or comes close to selling like an mainline FF game.
@@wood1066 Thats also not to mention that FFXIII, which launched at the height of Xbox’s dominance, sold 7 million copies across 360, PS3, and PC from 2009-2017. FF7 Remake has sold 7 million in half that time. So the PS5 exclusivity is clearly not the problem. Launching both games on Xbox wouldn’t have changed anything.
It’s not Sony’s fault they don’t have profits, it’s crap games Square Enix produces.
Playstation is on the same boat as Square Enix.
But Sony is not pushing titles over a year old onto other platforms like what Square Enix is doing.
Square has console games going mobile and mobile games going console, while Playstation is pushing very little on to mobile, PC and other consoles.
Nintendo is the one platform that has PC, Mobile, 3rd Party, AAA and even their own games on their platforms for people to play on the go and that is expanding onto their successor console, too, even giving performance boosts to titles with lower frame rates and graphics.
Xbox is the one platform stuck with way more games than both Nintendo and Playstation combined that is pushing all things Xbox onto their Windows Gaming platform. They are not pushing Xbox anymore than they already have.
They are making a new Xbox Console capable of playing PC games, but they are not pushing Xbox titles themselves.
If Sony is going to have the advantage, they are going to have to push their titles onto Apple and PC with Nintendo, until Xbox can get their games onto Windows Gaming.
