  • In this mechabellum gameplay video we are picking the WORST starting pack. Well, maybe it's not the absolute worst but it's pretty close down there.

    Your teachings have helped me improve my game.
    I have a suggestion for your video commentary that may help everyone: When you decide on a play and say something like "crawlers are good here, or I think we go mech-rage on the fangs", etc., then the next thing you would say would be WHY you would go crawlers, why go mech-rage. I think going that extra step will help people develop their thinking about the game.
    Thanks for your content.

      I agree that this would be great. However, this videos are taken from his streams where he is playing many game in a row, with a chat. Takes good games from there to bring here. So explaining everything to detail everytime he does it is not viable.

    Tank is usually unit with a lot of health and maybe armor, so it can tank damage for other units.
    Purpose of chaff is also tanking damage but in a more distributed way, instead of one huge unit we have a lot of week units - great against units with low fire rate and without area damage.
    Sledgehammers are in the middle, can be used to tank damage instead of chaff, and as a bonus they are good against chaff.
    So, I was surprised that You sold Sledgehammers in the first round.

    I misclicked on elite specialist when tabbing back into the game. Carry fangs + forts saved my ass. Getting that fort lvl 2 with shield up swung the game back in my favor, but it was very spooky right up until that point. One thing I have been wanting to try after the recent sledge nerfs is using assmen where one would normally use sledges in the fang+sledges formation, they have slightly less HP but they deal way more dmg, and you can be more granular with upgrades. The positioning does require some crawlers closer to the front, since the assman ends up in front of the fangs (5 range less sadge)

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  2 месяца назад +1

      You need some trickery in the early game to survive with the elite spec! I find preserving health is quite important since you usually win every other round. For example the turn you deploy your first fort you completely obliterate the enemy since the lev 2:s are so powerful. But then the melter comes out and it rough, then you deploy more in different position and win again.

    I find Elite and marksmen to be both stupid and fun, and nothing quite puts wraiths in their place like a couple of 17k damage air spec marksmen for half their cost.
    If you best partners you can tell yourself they're chaff too o~o

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  2 месяца назад

      Yea I like the elite marksmen too! Early wraith is a very difficult thing to answer. The lev1 marksman does nothing against it and then you need to build multiples of them and/or go air spec right away and then the enemy just sells the wraith and it's a disaster. But the lev2 marksman straight away is a completely different story.

      @shakacien 2 месяца назад

      @@SurreyEZ Oooo great point that they'll sell out if you counter with tech'd marksmen. Air spec marksmen shooting new lvl 1 wasp chaff next round could be a nightmare. Still kind of far superior to have crawlers in the base kit and sprinkle the marksmen in.

    So, I have been watching your videos for a bit now, I want to get better at playing, I'm currently sat at like 550+ MMR, Can you do a video on the selling mechanic please?, I see in all your videos you sell units, Can you do a video explaining some simple tips as to why and when you should sell troops please? and what to look out for when selling etc? , I know some things should be obvious but not for newcomers, Keep up the amazing content!! and THANK YOU!!

      @azzlambert5566 just one idea for you is if you have one or two air units and you see them buy an "anti-air" tech or unit, you can just sell your air units and go into something else

      in building phase just check units dmg, if u have for example phoenixes doing 3k dmg per shot and their dmg from previous round was 9k you know there is something not right. They were either killed quickly with only 3shots fired (then wasps as chaff can be sometimes good idea) or they were stucked on crawlers. So you have alocated 200credits on this unit which is terrible at what it was doing. So if u sell phoenixes for 200. Then u buy "extra unit to be built" for 50 and you build arc for 100 and put it on same spot. You have 50credits more and Arc will do way better job than those phoenixes. Cheapest counter is best counter.
      Same goes for upgrading unit. Check its dmg. If there is any star next to it, it means that this unit was carrying you in your last round. So it might be worthy to upgrade it to keep carrying you. But also this would make big target on this unit so there might be some hard counter.
      Also when u watching round, focus your important units - the longer they stay alive the more dmg they do. Example: if u have higher lvl arc and he goes vs sledges and you have some crawlers and it leaves few damaged sledges alive before your arc dies. You can either commit into arcs (which doesnt have to be bad idea) or buy more chaff. So you give this Arc more time to do dmg to kill those sledges. But also if you have Arc (and you dont wanna commit into arcs) you should sell it and buy better unit which is better against sledges.
      This is VERY simplified. I am sure if RAT made video about it explaining everything it will be longer than couple hours.
      Also one tip you havent asked for: at your MMR just build more chaff. Try some experiments for example to have like 2-4 dmg units only with a lot of chaff to buy enough time for those 2-4units to kill everything. You will probably lose some games (at your MMR you might even win all games). But what you get are experiences, which will improve your performance.
      For example: my MMR for 2v2 and 1v1 is pretty much same, around 1100. I do play 2v2 seriously (hoping to have the honor to type GG WP to RAT after game) and in 1v1 I play against lower players. So what I do in 1v1 is to try as many flanking as possible, to use mobile beacons as much as possible, always aggro, always picking craziest cards and always pressing speed upgrade, just to see whats good. One game I upgraded rhino (card drop) and my enemy had to stop it with hacker, 4x fangs, 2x forts and melter (so many credits invested just to stop one unit which was basicly free). I was waiting for redeployment to put it on the other side, sadly I didnt get it. So I just rushed frontal area with giants against his starting units. Btw hacker didnt even hacked that rhino in all the rounds. Would I do that in 2v2? Absolutely not, he would be sold next round.
      Or you can just watch giants robots fights each other - like I sometimes do (yeah I am losing those games) :D
      Learning curve is about tries and fails. So you have to try new stuff to see what works and what not. Also try to copy RAT latest videos in your next games. At your MMR it might even work if u do exactly same as RAT did, against whatever your opponent will build :) which I am gonna try now :D
      More GG = more skill
