If you come all the way to the Hill of Crosses from Vilnius, then you might as well go onto the beach and visit Palanga and/or Klaipeda

Hey dear! Yougota go Southwest-South-Southeast-East of Lithuania in order to have beautiful views when driving. Center, West and North of Lithuania is really flat, all the same and boring when it comes to views and vistas

Hey, would the views be similar or different

@@stafaislive different. Lots of hills and valeys, lakes and rivers where you can stop by for a swim, forests and picturesque towns, villages and farmsteads - moder nand old. Roads are winding and hilly.
It's in regions of Lazdijai, Druskininkai Alytus, Varėna, Utena, Ignalina. Couple of beautiful national parks, a bunch of gorgeous regional parks, cute beaches by lakes and rivers.

@@stafaislive southern Lithuania is a forgotten part even by Lithuanians which is a shame. Tourists only go to the same few spots.
I say nothing is far in Lithuania because it's such a small country, but drives can still be long because there are no freeways in Lithuania, exept for two. All roads are narrow and not the safest and not of great quality which makes for low speed limits. One narrow lane one way, and one the other way. Plus, all the roads cross multiple towns and villages where speed limits are even lower.
Another thing, you don't drive to see just one place in Lithuania. Make it a road trip with multiple stops with multiple destinations. Say, a hill of crosses is a short minor stop on your way to Žemaitija National Park, Telšiai, Samogitia, and the surrounding region.
Manors are a unique thing in a region.
Knowing the culture and a bit of history, or traveling with a local who knows it fairly well and is passionate about it makes traveling around Lithuania a lot more interesting and worthy. If culture and history is your thing, of course.
And you wanna trevel here may through September, when the weather is good.
