That's what wash away decks are for. All boat like this have drains positioned around the fishing deck to drain the water. Backing up towards the fish helps the angler reel in big fish like Marlin and Sailfish without having to use all their strength reeling and fighting. If you haven't ever hooked a monster from the depths, it can be overwhelming if the captain doesn't know what he's doing.

Not really. These boats are made to do this. There are drains around the deck in the stern. The water drains out. Does not mean it can take water continuously as it has to be able to drain, but this amount will drain out fine. Hence no one on the deck being worried about it. You can see the step line when they pan right. The water did not even make it high enough to get into the main part of the boat.

Obviously comments are from folks who dont understand the process and design of sportfishing voats. The deck is sealed, engine room sealed, big scuppers in cockpit for exactly this. This isnt in anyway going to sink boat.. Theres many capts who push well beyond this and push to far... this isnt one of those😊

Seen boats take on too much water & end up sinking doing this. Conditions were a bit rougher, bigger swells, small whitecaps...not rough just windy conditions

You can basically flood the back of the boat going reverse, and if the engine is strong enough, just gun it forward and the boat will be just fine. The nose rises when the engine goes.
