Seems like the reason Xavi made the announcement this weekend was to end the speculation about whether he'd get sacked. It buys them some time. Not sure how much, but some. If the team takes another nosedive, he won't last until the end of the season. Conversely, I'd guess there's an outside chance of things turning around and Xavi deciding to stay.
As for the media stuff, that's a convenient excuse. Yes, the media attention is insane, but it always has been and Xavi knows that. What's got him in trouble is his tendency to deflect rather than take accountability and his dishonesty about the style of play his team is demonstrating on the field. When the results don't go his team's way it's the refs or the grass or some vast conspiracy. He talks about Real Madrid more than paid TV analysts. And his team generally has not played a beautiful game. So when he talks about Cruyff and the team displays aimless, slow passing around the perimeter with very little invention, people can't help but notice the difference.

I’m really not convinced by all these kids bar yamal that Barca have brought up. Diego is looking at this with blinders cuz if Barca had a better squad I doubt any of them would have been called up.

Leipzig makes no sense for Xavi, the tactics are completely different. Probably a more modest Spanish club like Pimienta with Las Palmas would be better, but I think he might end up in Saudi

Diego is waffling shit. Zidane is not even talked about as one of the best managers in the world thanks the Spanish press where the root of lack of PR is, he should have had more reputation than Pep for the threepeat & he came back to a Real Madrid that was rotting in age to win the league & constantly reach knockouts in Champions League. Xavi was seen as up & coming young manager, hot prospect for doing nothing. Zidane should be talked about on the same level as Pep or above.

55:10 Absolutely shameless, comparing Klopp to Xavi is a new low for Diego, he truly should be ashamed of himself. If Xavi had to go up against the biggest industrial cheaters in the sport I can assure you he wouldn't have gotten more points than Ferguson ever did 3 times like Klopp did, he probably would've retired after a month or 2.

How the media treated Xavi? Are you kidding me? No way he was under the same scrutiny as Zizou, Ancelotti, Mou, Pellegrini…RM has the highest standards, and doesnt own their press. Barca pretty nuch own sport and mundo deportivo, all they do is write puff pieces. Weak excuse from the excuse man himself, Xavi…

kiyan give them hell they carry on like clowns when things arent going well at Real Madrid , these tears make me laugh crying about Tebas Perez helping Real Madrid yet these clowns are their own worse enemy how is Girona top if Perez is running the show ?? as for no one could do better ..thats a joke Xavi selections & lack of a Plan B is the main problem he chose the players he got in the last 2 seasons and his tactics have been questionable very often this season...
i saw the replays of the Barca players shouting its a new era we are back last season ...didnt that age well
    🤣😂😂🤣🤣
As for the players their showing vs Ossasuna shows Xavi wasnt wanted or respected it was a lucky 3pts with another average showing
