As a Real Madrid fan, I feel bad for whoever in charge of Barcelona since thay have to play "tiki-taka" or beautiful football even though the team will never be prepared for that. That "2010 tiki-taka" is impossible to copy.

I was so sickend by this game that I turned off my tv as soon as RM scored their fourth goal. I've been a fan for my entire life and never turned off a game before. Idk, this game was just different. Normally I am full of confidence that our guys can turn it around but seeing this high line, pedri as an inverted winger, roberto starting and ferran starting over felix - even before everything fell apart I knew that this was gonna be bad.

It seems like Xavi actually understands what’s going wrong and where it’s going wrong exactly but he just not yet ready to make change, I don’t know because he is not brave enough or whatever but if you’re good coach, you do different experiments and figure out which one works and which not..they also understand where each individual can play better, what they capable of and how to get maximum best level out of them Like Pep Guardiola, Johan Cruyff, Luis Enrique in Barca history..and there are also other top coaches in Europe who knows how to coach a team properly without any problems.

The main issue with Barca, is that we're constantly trying to replicate the past instead of adapting to the modern game. We constantly hire former players in hopes of finding the next pep to replicate our glory tiki taka days. The worst part is that we will make the same mistake again. Why not go and pitch a plan to a nagglesmann, someone with experience and is an actual tactician. Instead we'll probably promote Rafa Marquez and repeat the same mistake
We tried that and hired outside coaches and it didnt work. Barcelona is not any other team, we have a converyor belt of talent from la masia that produces a certain type of player so our coaches need to understand coaching those players

Xavi seems so reluctant to adapt his tactics to his players for some reason, especially ever since his 4 midfielder stint. With Balde, for example, his offensive prowess seems to have gotten worse but he’s been really good defensively so why not play him more as a defensive fullback (while Cancelo inverts into the midfield from rb still creating that 3-2-5 shape)rather than this pseudo left winger which doesn’t seem to be working as well as it was last season, and play with actual wingers keeping the width. You have players in Ferran and Raphina(or Yamal) who are capable of keeping width and whose off-ball movement and pressing intensity would complement a False 9 in Felix perfectly, but for some reason Xavi doesn’t want to drop Lewandowski despite his recent struggles and doesn’t seem to know that Felix is capable of playing as a False 9, which is weird because you’d think a coach would know his players capabilities, incapabilities, tendencies and so on.
I’m not sure it’s right to say that what Barca is lacking is identity. Real Madrid has no tactical identity. Ancelotti just encourages good personal connections between players. Madrid will play possession/park the bus/ gengen pre/ whatever floats their boat game to game. They just have quality players with a manager that knows how to man manage. Xavi likely prioritizes his tactical ideas over the players’ desires and player connections. Plus, the players just aren’t nearly as good as Madrid’s players. It’s just a different class at this point.
Do you think Xavi should stay after we end the season in 4th place in La Liga and are humiliated in the champions league but just because we won copa del rey after scraping through each knockout game and possibly winning many of them with penalties it would be okey because we at least got a silverware?

I just thought of something and would like all of your opinions. In a fully fit barca team, we wouldnt need a pivot but rather a right or left midfielder. It may be my american bias, but i would pick gio reyna, he would just have to keep him fit. If every one of our players remains fit, we could have the following lineup
Gk: Ter stegen
Rb: Kounde
Cb: Araujo
Cb: Christensen
Lb: Balde/Cancelo
Cm: De Jong
Cm: Gavi
Rm: Reyna
Rw: Yamal
Lw: Pedri
St: Roque
The lb would go to a sort of Lm position and reyna would stay there, they could help woth width, Christensen would be a sort of hybrid defender like John Stones, Kounde would go in as a cb Yamal would go as a sort of st, Pedri would play as a cam, so in possesion, it would be a 2-1-4-1-2. It would give us six midfielders, and during attacks, pedri, the lb, reyna,roque and yamal would go forwards, giving us six attackers. It would create an overload in midfield and attack, and when defending, gavi and christensen would track back, along with the left back, giving us at least four defenders. I chose reyna because of his age, potential, and price, but his major problem is fitness, which is something we know all too well. I am not a tacticul genius, and this scenario can only happen if all these players stay fit, but it seems like a pretty good solution to our problems. If anyone has any feedback, including you robby, i would be glad to hear it.
To me it was frustrating because Real didnt even play out of the ordinary.
In last year's El Clasico (with the Kessie goal) they played far better yet we won at the end.
Before Lewa's goal we were in complete control again and if Torres could score goals that arem't tap ins it could have been 2:2 before half time.
I think we will find form this season come UCL time but I think it's clear we need players that fit the managers style i mean for example, pena is part of the high line that we played but was late 3 times because there was such a big gap between him and the defense, another is Felix even though he started well he just isn't a wide winger he's more of CF inside forward type player

Things must change cos am expecting for Barca to score twice in the first half if more of the copa del rey. Also I don't get y we playing the high line now. If Lewan won't press, bench him and whoever that won't press also. This started way back, our first match of the season.
simple fix. use Fermin as a false 9. include Romeu as the deepest midfield player and surround him with Frankie, pedri or gundo. have two wingers to go in behind. and keep the defense the same. honestly this would help us score more and concede less.

One of the things that was not a good idea was selling auba and not ferran. I get ferran is a good striker but I genuinely take auba than ferran. Xavi did amazing last year with a victory with 2 titles but in the last games they conceded a lot of goals to end the season. Lewandowski was a huge sign up but his performances is not great this season due to communication and tactics. The difference from him being in Bayern and Barca is the performance. I have noticed that Barca players aren’t pressuring a lot and just walking around. Let take example to South Korea or Japan. The way of playing is amazing if you guys watch the games, you can see that they pressure and recover the ball quickly .

I still believe Xavi is capable of fixing some of the teams problems. The most sensible thing to do is wait for the end of the season. Sacking him mid season would be catastrophic, leaving us with no European football for next season. Also saying Xavi is incapable of making us playing good football is ridiculous, he did it last season. We had one of the most solid defenses in Europe and we were extremely consistent (we barely conceded goals, 4-0 and 3-1 in El Clásico).

Madrid factually has missed players about as much as Barca has added the Barcelona squad has more depth and can actually replace players. Madrid can only replace midfielders. Both offense and defense lacks in depth.
I think you forgot Madrid has had enormous issues with injuries(at some point Ancelotti thinking about playing Touaechmeni or Mendy with Nacho centrally) because they still have been playing well.

He is good to run healthy club but not good enough to save barca from this big problems, i know to sell Busi was good choice but they dont have real replacement, Stegen missing is also bad for defence and buildup, Ousmane was just much better in creating big chances than any other player no matter stats Raphinha have, he is just not good at it and better support from wings would also help Lewa or any other players to score more goals, and midfield is just not good in defence, de jong is solid and gavi is good in pressing but compared to tackles of young real midfielders its not that good, but i still think xavi was last season overperforming and with some luck they were succesful and luck is never permanet..

Nobody is Madrid biased. Y’all hate Madrid soo much that even if they win a tough match you willing say their opponents were poor, meanwhile they never get the easiest opponents whether in the UCl, Super Copa or any other competition. We literally had to play a tough game with Athletico Madrid just to get to the final , while you literally had to do nothing exceptional to beat Osasuna, and we did it amidst injuries and literally turning midfielders in temporal CBs.
