I forget all the names, but someone put together a list of all the major people involved and it's honestly like one of those things where someone says "what if we got the best person for every individual role, how unbelievably awesome would the final product be?", except in the complete opposite direction. Obviously, only time will tell how it pans out, but on paper, it really looks like Success Nintendo is spitting in the face of fate itself As for what the movie might actually be (potential horrors aside), I actually hope they try to do a silent protagonist thing. Give Link his usual hups, hyahs, and vocal expressions when necessary, but write the other characters to speak around him and for him when they're present and just let him have his quiet, determined, or somber hero moments when he's off on his own. It could be a nice mix of those lighthearted, whimsical moments that the series is know for, but could also serve to incorporate the more serious, coming-of-age themes that pretty much every game eventually embraces by the time the credits roll. Even just that alone would be a fun creative exercise and allow for a somewhat unique presentation, but it would also be good practice for a potential Metroid movie, since Samus as a concept relies so heavily on that same sort of vibe
the 3d cg cartoon, Iron Man Armored Adventures did it well , they had to go through like 10 temples made in ancient China? to find the bAKUGAN rings, or the rings that the Mandarin wears . and they spread them out over so many episodes of the tv show , because each temple had an intricate trap and lesson attatched to each one, so if they do all 9 dungeons, i said maybe it has to be a tv show.
There isnt a human on earth that can capture what link has as a character design. Its like asking a person to look like an anime waifu. hes just too perfect
I want the movie to be in the same style as The Never ending Story, with good evaluation they could find a great actor for a young Link. I’d love it to be whimsical and goofy like The Windwaker, but still have darker tones when they’re necessary for the plot. Would love to see Epona, or a completely new animal companion, if it’s not Epona, I think a talking animal would work quite well. I think it’d be best to make it a completely original story, with new characters besides Zelda/Sheik and Ganondorf, with minor/cameo characters being NPCs like Beedle, perhaps?
Maybe if David Lowery directed? The Green Knight is the only recent movie I can think of that is anything like a live action Zelda movie I might like. Wait... There haven't been any rumors about what S. S. Rajamouli is directing next...
As for casting I think they might and probably should go for unknown or less popular actors. I wish they went with Petter Jackson as director and basically the team that adapted Lord of the Rings.
I saw some pictures of Hunter Schaefer (I don’t think I spelled her name right) next to BOTW Zelda and I do really think appearance wise she’d be a great casting choice, and she is a talented actress. Also agree though that I’d love to see someone unknown who’s cast for appearance and skill over just being a known name
Making a Metroid movie first... The Zelda IP is bigger, so more people will see a Zelda movie, so that's the main reason why not, but it's also muddied by how much inspiration the Metroid series took from the Alien franchise. It would be too awkward to then put out a competing movie with those inspirations (unless they actually manage to get Ridley Scott to make it... The man that the space pirate Ridley is named after).
Metroid takes a lot of aesthetic and tone inspiration from Alien, but not really so much the plot and themes. It wouldn't be difficult to create a Metroid film that doesn't get lambasted for being an Alien-ripoff. They are very unique franchises with their own 2 legs to stand on.
I'd like to see an anthology series, like they did recently with Star Wars. A bunch of short films made by different studios. Imagine Hyrule done by Weta in New Zealand, or a ghibli interpretation of Wind Waker.

the zelda movie starring ryan gosling as link, margot robbie as zelda, jonah hill as morshu and adam sandler as ganondorf
The music that starts playing when he talks about Impendorf is just perfect
Link needs to save Tingle from Ganondorf because he's two months behind on his half of the rent and he still owes Link a bag of weed.
I forget all the names, but someone put together a list of all the major people involved and it's honestly like one of those things where someone says "what if we got the best person for every individual role, how unbelievably awesome would the final product be?", except in the complete opposite direction. Obviously, only time will tell how it pans out, but on paper, it really looks like Success Nintendo is spitting in the face of fate itself
As for what the movie might actually be (potential horrors aside), I actually hope they try to do a silent protagonist thing.
Jim Carrey as Link
Kristen Schaal as Zelda
Morgan Freeman as Ganondorf
John Goodman as King Hyrule
Danny DeVito as Tingle
The role of 'Link' will be played by Owen Wilson
He's so cool!
Just watch Princess Mononoke, and forget all about this nightmare.
Live action is a bold choice. But strangely, not the worst outcome. Hopefully future news brings forth reassurance for the movie.
genuinely would love a tingle movie using the rosy rupeeland games as the basis for art style/humor
Chris Prat as Link, Tenacious D as Ganon and The laughing man (guy who played DK in the movie) playing everyone else.
the 3d cg cartoon, Iron Man Armored Adventures did it well , they had to go through like 10 temples made in ancient China? to find the bAKUGAN rings, or the rings that the Mandarin wears . and they spread them out over so many episodes of the tv show , because each temple had an intricate trap and lesson attatched to each one, so if they do all 9 dungeons, i said maybe it has to be a tv show.
Dakota Fanning could make a decent Zelda casting. I've seen a good suggestion for Link too, Thomas Brodie-Sangster
There isnt a human on earth that can capture what link has as a character design. Its like asking a person to look like an anime waifu. hes just too perfect
Twinks do not exist, they are mythical creatures.
Eden Dambrine would pe perfect for child Link, he has so much talent in Close
This feels to me that it is going to be much more along the lines of an anime turned live action than a Lord of the Rings type movie.
I think it’d be best to make it a completely original story, with new characters besides Zelda/Sheik and Ganondorf, with minor/cameo characters being NPCs like Beedle, perhaps?
>talking animal companion
No.
I can't believe Danny Devito is Morshu
17:11 Vinny reveals his hidden past
Chad thundercock plays live action groose
Maybe if David Lowery directed? The Green Knight is the only recent movie I can think of that is anything like a live action Zelda movie I might like.
Wait... There haven't been any rumors about what S. S. Rajamouli is directing next...
As for casting I think they might and probably should go for unknown or less popular actors. I wish they went with Petter Jackson as director and basically the team that adapted Lord of the Rings.
Why does Ryan Gosling look like he could play Sportacus in a Lazy Town Reboot?
"What do you mean? I'll do it. So cool!"
As someone that hated the Mario movie, I can only see this being worse. I always enjoy these videos where Vinny just talks off the dome tho.
I always thought it would make a better series than a movie, each season could be devoted to a different game.
Cant wait for the zebra movie. zebra chan is so cool.
Best example.
“The Green Knight” by A24
Can't wait to see Venom's cameo in my Zelda movie
I'm not sure how I got here. Has to do with Mario, I think.
I'm looking forward to it.... but I would prefer an animated movie...will see what happens.
17:30 Is this the Q n' A stream?
Jamie Campbell Bower as Link
He played Henry in Stranger Things and Anthony in Sweeney Todd
I'd like to see an anthology series, like they did recently with Star Wars. A bunch of short films made by different studios. Imagine Hyrule done by Weta in New Zealand, or a ghibli interpretation of Wind Waker.
"You have to cast Ryan Gosling as Link"
Bro they're literally me fr fr they should do it
Yes, unironically cast a 43-year-old man as a 17-year-old because he's a hot topic this year.
