Matt Irwin. I must say, Breathtaking visuals, great camera work, amazing edits. and a very extraordinary lens mate. Wow. The sunset shots and city scapes are just mind numbing rockin. The only think I would include or change is an Arca plate. The contrast, sharpness and colors are what the new Z 600 TC price tag is really all about. That and the fact that you can pretty much sell off the TCIIIs and leave your FTZs at home. There's a reason why Nikon is one of the best lens makers.

@@josephsworkshop75 Hi Joseph, I know a number of years ago I had 12 months in Hospital and the first two month I was in ITU so I did not now anything. But it does change things. I started designing my own Photo kit. Just longing to get a camera back in my hans. You keep was well as you can, keep save and enjoy your photography.
For sure Obed, and you get outstanding results from all the Z lenses, from the 2.8 zooms, to the 1.8 primes, and lenses like the 24-120 ... they are all outstanding and more ... oh I can't forget my beloved 50mm 1.2 Fingers crossed on the 85mm sometime soon .............
I've got a deposit-included order in on this lens. Can. Not. Wait!!!! I'm sure it'll be a few months into 2023 before I see mine, and I'm not too confident I'll have it in hand for spring (northern hemisphere) wildlife season if the 400 2.8 and 800 pf availability (they're not) in Canada is any indication. Mind, the wait will give me time to save a tiny fraction of its cost -- more money than brains and talent = me :) Excellent video, as always. Cheers! Now that was some presentation Matt, beautiful lens that’s for sure! Some say “The gear doesn’t matter” I can say after forty years a Nikon only shooter and having owned pretty much everything they have produced, the gear absolutely matters, providing of course one knows how to use it! You do, that’s for sure! 👏👍😀

Hi Peter, Hmm tough choice, the 800 PF is a little shorter and lighter, not a great deal in it ... you would love either .... 600 is more flexible with the built in TC among other things. Cheers Matt :)
@@MattIrwinPhotography I just saw Steve Perry's comparison sharpness between the Z 600 F4 + 1.4 TC and the Z 800 PF, in the 600 you really get two incredible primes, plus the fast f stop. Honestly, I would need to have to find a good business reason to buy the 600 F4. For now, we are only getting ready for our first bird + macro calendars for 2024, so until we get to 10,000 sales in calendars and prints, I feel it would be a mal investment to get in on such an expensive piece of equipment. Great video Matt. I shoot wildlife and I ordered mine 2 days after the announcement. Trading in all my F mount gear helped a lot to offset the cost. I am NPS in the UK so hopefully it will arrive before Xmas. Really looking forward to using this lens. Making do with 400 f4.5 in the meantime.

Great Vid - see you are rocking the new headset -- it is barely noticable - 😆 -- I cannot wait for my copy of this lens to arrive. Might be next week or ......... The 600/4TC is 302g heavier than the 400/2.8TC -- whereas the 600/4E-FL was only 10g heavier than the 400/2.8E-FL -- BUT the Z-lenses are both 550g and 850g lighter than the E-FL versions (600 and 400 ignoring an FTZii), which shows what a great job Nikon did saving weight in the 400/2.8TC.
Matt, we all love your content but everything you present is always 100% perfection and always wearing the pink glasses. We need objective opinion on such expensive gear, not only Nikon commercials. Thank you for the beautiful visuals after all 🍻
Cheers dice. What is there negative to say ? This is actually how I feel about this lens. Today we are beyond spoilt with the quality of tools at our finger tips. This is a supercar, with a supercar price. And yes it is a super car. I’m not going to try and say something negative for the sake of it if during my use cases I did not find it. And thus I clearly illustrate how and what I shoot so you the viewer know what you might be able to create / achieve. Other use cases might yield different outcomes, but this lens is extraordinary at everything I threw at it. That is all I can comment on.
Hey Dice, I think that this lens, like the 400 2.8, has lifted the bar so much that it’s hard to criticise. The 600 is certainly the best lens I’ve ever used (for its specific use cases). The one criticism I have is it doesn’t fit on my small camera bag!

This lens is a certifiable beast no doubt and would be a lens to keep for a lifetime. It is well worth the money for what you are getting but really for a small percentage of people at its price point. I hear they are fulfilling some orders in the U.S.A., wonder if getting this lens out is what affected availability of the 800PF and the 400 2.8.
Being in the "I can never afford this lens" camp, I do get to live vicariously through videos like this filmed by those who can afford one or who get to try one out for a time. Nice video by the way.
How do I get a job like yours? Nikon sends you all of there nice toys to play with and you go out and use them. Then there is Thomas Heaton, out of Great Britain, who goes to the Red Light District in Germany and takes pictures at night. What a job.
I'm sure its a fantastic lens, but for my purposes, I believe the Nikon NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S Lens would be a far better choice. Lighter, longer, and half the price.

HUM!!! Save some $$$'s and get a Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS for $2k and a A7M3 for $2k with a 2x teleconverter you will get 1800 in APS-C mode and shoot the moon handheld, yes! It moves and at a ISO/SS 125 f/8 it stands still. What happens to your Nikon when above f/8 hint AF does not work but Sony works even over f/16 will even track hummingbirds even with 2x on.

Sorry for the random question...Have you tried the F mount 50mm 1.4G on Z cameras? This is one of my favorite.

HUM!!! Save some $$$'s and get a Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS for $2k and a A7M3 for $2k with a 2x teleconverter you will get 1800 in APS-C mode and shoot the moon handheld, yes! It moves and at a ISO/SS 125 f/8 it stands still. What happens to your Nikon when above f/8 hint AF does not work but Sony works even over f/16 will even track hummingbirds even with 2x on.
Af works fine over f11. Echo you gotta not make stuff up. Af works great with 2 x Tele. Again don’t make stuff up. Have you used this lens?
