What should we react to next?! 👀 Like the video!! 👍🏾🥳
React to the top Classic Goth bands?
Oasis
Brit Awards performances or Glastonbury festival performances. Just more live uk music.
The Seriophonics. A Welsh band. And yes the lead singer is 🔥
Oasis
Deep Purple is hardly a one hit wonder. Their catalog is deep.
...and purple.
Then afterward, keep it going with Rainbow.
Yeah, I only have 40 albums of theirs...must do some catching up.
DP 1970-74; best hard rock band of all time.
..and purple
In the 1950s and 1960s US radio stations would generally only play music by white bands but in the UK Black music was warmly embraced. The Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks, the Hollies and the Animals here became famous on the back of great Black-influenced music. Which they all took over to the US and sold millions of records - introducing America to its own Black musical heritage. It took a while for US bands to join in. So right through the 60s and early 70s most great bands were British, usually playing Black American influenced music.
Very well put
Your spot on Morris, you stole my words.
How can she still not know?
We've been screaming from the pits of the comments sections for three years now
"Favour, they're bloody British as well !!!! "
Even Hugh Laurie.
In my opinion the top 3 greatest bands are 1. The Beatles 2. Pink Floyd 3. Led zeppelin All British
On Pink Floyd go look at their history, listen to their albums. They aren’t all that far away from Beatles. Hugely influential band. But be aware they aren’t a riff band, they are an atmospheric and lyric driven band.
I would put oasis and queen up there as much as the 3 u have had a massive cultural impact at the time a in the years after Queen and oasis surpassed then in longevity consider younger people still name them more than the 3 you mentioned till this day and are the main stay in the modern culture
Radiohead's last 5 albums are amazing
I believe that Oasis split up because Liam & Noel had a fight over a leather jacket?!
You definitely need to react to some more Oasis - they have some absolute anthems and I feel like they are a staple of any British person's music collection.
Also check out a band called Kasabian who are quite similar to Oasis, but definitely have a sound all of their own, and are also very popular here in the UK.
Whatever caused it, Oasis breaking up was a long time coming
I thought it was the pork pie incident when Liam caught Noel a belter with an airborne baked product. That said, Noel was never satisfied with any band member back in the day.
U really need to do an Oasis deep dive they produced some amazing songs, hugely influenced by the beatles and the only other band that influenced British culture in the same way xx
Though I do except that they were massive in the uk for a few years when Brit Pop ruled the radio stations, they did have a big impact on our culture and people were calling them the new Beatles ( mostly themselves lol ) but they never reached the heights of the Beatles or stones, led zep etc
@@davidmellish3295 I'd say they led the Britpop scene of the 90s& still going today. Legends in my book.
Comparing The Beatles to Oasis is a huge disservice to The Beatles. The Gallagher brothers are mediocre at best and full of there own self importance.
Whilst i agree that oasis, like blue and the stone roses were very influential in the 90s and had a massive influence on music and culture here then, I'd argue that this was no greater than the influence of the likes of Led Zeppelin in the early 70s, The wretched Sex Pistols in the late 70s and Spandau Ballet or Duran Duran in the early 80s. Every generation has its influence.
@@garmit61 u maybe correct about that but did any of those other bands produce british anthems in the same way
These are only a small taste of the groups we had, you can include the Animals, Moody Blues, Procol Harum, Genesis, the Hollies, ELO, Wizzard, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Culture Club, Dave Clark 5, the Tremeloes, Marmalade, T-Rex, Adam & the Ants, Slade, the Sweet, Spice Girls, the Troggs, Wings, Lighthouse Family, Fleetwood Mac, Lindisfarne, Madness to name just a few. And this doesn't include the solo artists. Watched ELO's 2017 Wembley or Bust Concert just last week and can highly recommend it. Jeff Lynne was 69 at the time but it doesn't come across on stage.
Fleetwood Mac , Rumours would be an episode in itself.
You haven’t scratched the surface of the music scene in the UK between 1968 and 1975. Beatles, Stones, Who, Pink Floyd, Kinks then add ELP, Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, Gentle Giant and loads of others - huge variety and colossal talent.
The Beatles, did Not play to segregated crowds. They found out, that they where due to perform to one, and they refused. Said that they , would not come out until it was sorted.
Saw the Who in 82. My ears rang for three days after that show. Epic.
The lead singer of The Who is Roger Daltry. The lead singer and drummer of Genesis is Phil Collins. Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" is about education changing children into robots without minds of their own. Paul McCartney is still working, he like Keith Richard from The Rolling Stones has appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean.
The art style was Pop Art - famously Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Peter Blake (who designed the Sergeant Pepper album cover)
Elvis was NOT Motown. Motown means and is from Detroit (Motor City). Elvis was Memphis sound.
You should definitely react to some oasis, they are very iconic in their own right. they are Madchester band (Manchester). Have a good Christmas!❤️
Edit: pink floyd- another brick in the wall, also a great song to listen too. Or any of their songs tbh
There is a film called "yesterday " about what the world is like if the Beatles had never existed (it takes a swipe at oasis lol)
Pink Floyd are a musical phenomenon. You should listen to Dark Side of the Moon, Wish you were Here and Animals. Brilliant albums. The Wall is great and the most well known, but the ones I have mentioned will change you 😀
You said what did America bring to the table. Most of our UK bands in the 60s and 70s were Mimicking their heroes which were American blues and soul artists. British bands like Fleetwood Mac, The Animals, Cream, Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, The Rolling stones were all blues bands. A band called Free is massively underrated blues influenced band they're only known for one song which is a tragedy. Some of their album tracks are superb
Waterloo sunset by the Kinks was a massive record back in the 60's and the Kinks themselves where a massive band of quality.
Dive into British music girl!
It has never been easier to do and you will discover so much.
Every decade has something to blow your mind and amaze you!
oasis were the people who said that oasis were as good as the Beatles, nobody else
Oasis v Beatles. I agree with your disgust!!!
You can also add the following to your list . Cream, Procol Harum, Jethro Tull, Joe Cocker, the Animals, Gerry Rafferty, Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Small Faces and the Bee Gees !
Thx! Thoughtful comments! I just subscribed because of your stance on The Beatles! I give them credit for doing what they did, but I give glory to God for putting in place all the events that was the phenomenon called Beatlemania and the rock revolution! “ Rockolution!”
I subscribed TOO for the same reason as you, T.R.!!
David Bowie played in front of 300.000 people at the US Festival in 1983.
You described Liam Gallagher as looking nerdy. Amazing, if you only knew!
Ozzie is a Brummie (from Birmingham). If you want to get to know Pink Floyd, then react to Comfortable Numb (on the live Pulse album). Probably the best guitar solo you'll every hear. Ray Davies (The Kinks) recently had an album of old Kinks songs, and he had the likes of Bon Jovi and The Boss, Bruce Springsteen singing with him.
Aerosmith was originally a Rolling Stones tribute band. Stephen Tyler was lead because he looked a bit like Mick Jagger 😃
A bit? At least 40% is the same and it's just the mouth. 😄
rubbish.
Oh you DEFINITELY need to investigate Pink Floyd!!!! Start by watch almost anything from the 1994 Pulse Concert, or "On the Turning Away"
Your reactions are so great (funny, happy etc) it makes my day:)) got a new subscriber!!!!
@That American Girl , Favour the singer with Genesis is none other than Phil Collins , Other British Rock bands not mentioned are Dire Straits , Simple Minds , The Bee Gees , Roxy Music , The Cure , Muse , Kasbian and many more . But i'm surprised the Bee Gees never made the top 10 British Rock Bands .
Although they didn't do a lot of it, they did do some R&R, and a lot of R&B but most idiots thought they were a disco act but the Bee Gees are in the top 5 all time for record sales and also top 5 as songwriters. They were considered successors to The Beatles and influenced tons of groups since.
Weren't the Bee Gees Australian?
Barry , Andy & Maurice were all born in Douglas , Isle of Man . They moved to Australia when they were kids . Their parents were from Manchester . The band formed in Oz so tecnically the band is Aussie with all British members . Probably say the same for AC/DC who are an Aussie band but formed by 2 Scotsmen .
Great video
You have an energy when you do these rock videos that I just love, refreshing from someone so young.
Pink Floyd, comfortably numb live is one of the best pieces of music ever IMO. If you love guitar, you should love it too.
From the Pulse tour!
My wonderful dear young lady your Country has not only influenced and strengthened musical styles throughout our World to create a closer community. I'm a former Australian Soldier who during my basic training had Tone Locs "Locd after dark "on my casset player. 88 was great but 89 is mine. Tone Loc had affect on more people than he knows.
Someone get Favour a passport and a time machine. Still loving your passion for British rock
You probably recognised the genesis song at 23:10 because their lead singer is Phil Collins, of In the air tonight and Tarzan soundtrack fame. Very recognisable voice!
It's called "Pop Art" by Andy Warhol. He managed one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, The Velvet Underground and their eponymous album The Velvet Underground and Nico.
Oasis is massive
So is their ego!
@@jacobmassey3897 he may not be a nerd but he is a world class pratt and pillock!
If you want to find out how good pink Floyd can be you should look for pulse 94 concert rated the best concert ever👌
loved the video but you taking time to appreciate the men and their bods was honestly my fav part haha
In the 60s the Beatles paved the way for the British Invasion of the USA. Try the searchers, gerry and the pacemakers, Herman's Hermits the list is endless! Also check out a band called the Yardbirds they had a canny knack for having top notch lead guitar players. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page played lead guitar in that order! The Yardbirds, with Jimmy Page, then became Led Zeppelin!
Add the group Rainbow to your list - Ritchie Blackmore (from Deep Purple), Ronnie James Dio, and Cozy Powell. Super Group. - Start with "Stargazer"
Hiya Favour, you really do need to get into Pink Floyd, don a set of comfortable headphones and listen to Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall etc. and just drift away into their awesome music!
Has to be said Say what you want about Britain there are 2 things they're great at... War and music
If you like the guitar you really need to get into Dire Straits and their singer/guitarist Mark Knopfler who also has a long solo career in wich he continued to write great songs
America had idols and Britain had rock stars.
Absolute disgrace that the smiths weren't on this list. It's probably because they never got to America but they are by far top 5 British bands
Loved this reaction video! Don't worry you guys brought LOADS of great rock bands...some of the best....think there's gonna be a lot for you to discover....
In the 40's my parents played Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and best of all.. Louis Armstrong. Maybe it was the 50's upon reflection.
It's a joy to watch the expressions on your face. Have a very merry Christmas, and a happy and prosperous New year. 🌲🎅🎉🎶
You will of definitely heard of a couple of oasis songs.. they have some huge hits that I’m sure made there way over, you will be surprised if you dive deeper into their songs what will sound familiar. They are amazing!
FREDDIE FREAKIN’ MERCURY 😎
You seem to hold The Beatles in high regard. Please watch a film called Yesterday. In the film no-one remembers them except for one man. A lovely film directed by the same man who was put in charge of the London Olympic opening ceremony 😀
Cracking movie, became tearful when I saw Robert Carlisle playing...well you know who! 😢
Also the same man who brought us "Shallow Grave" & "Trainspotting"!😁
Led Zeppelin at MSG in 1973!! That is THE concert!! These bands are mostly 60s and 70s...them 70s pants! Sorry Beatles...but Zeppelin is number 1!
just watched this and loved your energy from the uk x
Freddy Mercury (Farrokh Bulsara) is an African boy, born and bred (though he also spent a spell in India). He was about 18 when he left Zanzibar (in Tanzania in East Africa), for Britain.
Andy Warhol created that art form you were asking about with Marylon Monroe.
Oh and the only band to ever rival the Beatles were the Scottish band 'Bay city rollers', they had women all over the world screaming for them exactly the same way the beatles did and they were around at the same time.
BAY CITY ROLLERS AHAHAHAHAH😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I guess you're Scottish hahaha
Enjoyed your comments a lot - more power to your elbow! 👍💜
Love your reaction 😃
How big were Oasis? In 1996 at their Knebworth concerts there were 250.000 tickets avaialble, 2.6 million people applied for tickets, The population of the country was 58 million, In those days you couldn't order tickets online, You had to ring up on the telephone, Without doubt they are the most important band to come out of the UK iin the last 40 years. They released seven studio albums, All seven went to #1, eight #1 singles, In 2007 their album What's the story morning glory was voted best album since the Brit Awards were created in 1977.
The British rock bands of the "world"? Anyway good to see your keep and open mind.
Yeah the weather is so bad we just stay indoors and play music.
Love this content!
Please react to something about modern British bands. If you don't know Arctic Monkeys, definitely start with them 😊
sure it was the supremes etc all came over from u.s and done uk tours as one big travelling show, they were suprised to see how they were treated differently in the u.k as equals vs being segregated in the u.s , there was a documentry on it and interviews with the singers and bands that did it. that would be good to see the reaction to. i cld try find the link to the video if you want
Oasis cannot be compared to the Beatles. They were never that good. They were OK. The Beatles were phenomenal.
...not better than even slade lol...i always found oasis a bit 'whiney'..
Liam Gallagher loved John Lennon so much, he tried to emulate his appearance, and even named his son Lennon after John Lennon.
that art style was known as POPART... it originated in UK in late 50s and was shipped over to US. You may know the name Andy Warhol? he was synonymous with the popart movement.
I adore all British rock and these 10 bands are my favorite, but Deep Purple is number 1 for me (The Beatles is the point of reference).
@@Isleofskye Thanks! My English is really not very good ☺. Did you see the classic lineup in 1975? I think it was impossible because they parted in 1973, it was probably a Mark 4 with Coverdale, Hughes and Bolin, but the price is fantastic 👍.
I'm surprised bands called pulp and the Arctic monkeys weren't on there they're some of my favs and British classics you should definitely check them out though!
Would always recommend these two bands. Northern grit in their music. Great bands
Well. Before and After The Beatles. These guys didn't spring out of a vacuum, not over in Europe. It's just that the US was not listening (well, who would want to hear Cliff Richard, The Shadows, Lonnie Donegan, Jerry and the Pacemakers, The Troggs and 101 others). People in The Cellar Club over in Hanover (Germany) had been dancing to The Beatles from around 1960.
But the US had more than crooners and country. Elvis, Chuck Berry, Howln Wolf and Bill Haley and the Comets to name few. Loads more. However The Beatles were sending the girls nuts over in the UK - so they were exported over to the US, just as a really depressing time was going down. The country had just experienced the assassination of President Kennedy, and was seriously down in the mouth / lost. The Beatles arrived in the spring of '64 to blow all the gloom away and lift spirits up! Everything changed for the better!
Want some more UK and rock backstory? Hunt down the BBC story "The Joy of the Guitar Riff" - it's a few years old now but a cracking / fun documentary starting in the 1940's.
If you liked that, then try the BBC's Prog Rock Britannia: An Observation in Three Movements" - great stuff! No full tracks, but you'll know the main characters and hear some great tunes.
:)
You should give The Stone Roses a listen to. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
I enjoyed your video, so lively and funny. Seasons greetings 🎄 from old blighty! 🏴
Blur is a good band to look at
Oásis and Beatles, i completly agree with you!
Oasis ew
That art style is called Pop Art. The Marilyn Monroe image you speak of is by Andy Warhol.
They always miss out Jethro Tull for some weird reason...Tull were as big as any band in america during the 70s and had the best frontman EVER!...check out thick as a brick at madison square garden
Live Aid is the concert you want for Queen
The art style is 'Pop Art'
I was around when the Beatles hit the music scene in 1964. I probably know all the lyrics to every Beatle song, but I don't know any of Oasis'. Oasis should not be considered in The Beatles league
I feel like people who grew up around the time of oasis would know the songs more than other generations
Oasis are British legends. They might not of cracked America but they're great
Oasis are legends, what you on
Favour you HAVE to come to Liverpool next time you visit England!
Elvis never stole songs
Oasis compared themselves to the Beatles
In my opinion (which many disagree with) Oasis were nowhere near as good as they thought they were. Beatles, different planet.
Pink Floyd, you need to see the "Pulse Concert".
The Beatles pioneered the long hair movement. Everyone else just followed their lead.
If you recall you wondered about the British invasion?
As he says,it was a musical invasion 1960s and 80s
The who are brilliant you should checkout more, their original drummer was Keith Moon he died from a drug overdose in the 70’s their current drummer is Zac Starkey, whose dad is Ringo Starr
The Kinks Top 5 without a doubt.
The triangle with the rainbow is the DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, one of the best LPs ever.
Music is in our blood...learn instrument when young...violin, recorder and piano.
React to Pink Floyd - Comfortably numb - live! It's transcending! The reatest guitar solo ever.
Do you need to look into Pink Floyd? YES!!!
QUEEN ARE STILL AROUND
Nothing bad about the baritone I played it and euphonium, and trombone and much more brass instruments, now I play guitar , acustic and electric have, les Paul's SG's and 335's
Everyone knows who the Beatles are, but not that many people know oasis. There’s a reason for that.
Great video Favour thank you.
Disappointing Iron Maiden wasn't in the cut but hey ho.
As for Michael Jackson, he knew The Beatles were top and bought their record rights as he knew that in a 100 years time, people will still be listening to the Beatles, and probably not the 3 or 4 hits MJ had. I do like MJ's hits but it won't stand the test of time.
to me the best band that came out from the UK is iron maiden and also queen
You need to check out Band Maid. They're an all-female band from Japan and one of the best hard rock bands to have emerged over the last 30 or 40 years. Try checking out one of their live performances from either the Line Cube Shibuya or Zepp Tokyo gigs, which were recorded in 2019. You won't be disappointed. Cheers from the UK!
Bro what😂
fun fact: mick jagger ( rolling stones ) singer movements are inspired by tina turner, which is noticeable , especially in the leg movements, peep early tina's videos and compare to jagger....
Queen album to review: A Night at the Opera
Definitely look into Pink Floyd. From 1970 to 1983. Befroe... meh. After, just a good rock band. But with amazing live performances.
About your comment on The Who: that was pants in the 70s :)
To be fair Nirvana is a band that you could say were iconic from the States. They were truly inspirational on a global scale.
Honorary mentions: REM and on a personal level Talking Heads.
Your knowledge of English bands is amazing. Clearly you've had past lives in England!
I’m hoping that was sarcasm 😂
the guy who played sultans of swing didn't use a pick so his fingers would bleed after each performance
Liam‘s ego is bigger than the beattles. Oasis is great too.
