YEAH YOU! I JUST HAVE HAD A 180° DIET REVERSAL W/ MOST DRAMATIC RESULTS...TOTALLY ASTONISHING. I JUST WENT FROM 9 YEARS OF CLEAN WHOLE FOOD PLANT BASED TO DOING A 180° diet change. I started to eat a pound of organic grass fed a day. Out of nowhere. Holy Crappola, did my cells need this. Wowza! I literally lost FAT FROM EVERY CELL OF MY BODY SO RAPIDLY I VIOLENTLY SHRUNK THE VISERAL FAT WHICH WRAPPED & ENCASED ALL MY ORGANS. I PLAN TO DO THIS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS , OR STOP THRIVING THEN TRY ADDING BACK SELECT VEGGIES AT SOME POINT. EYE OPENING!HAPPENING. RESEARCHING THE EXISTENCE OF NATURAL OCCURRING PLANT CHEMICALS THAT HAVE EVOLVED, DEVELOPED TO PREVENT PREVENTIVE CONSUMPTION SO THEY MATURED UNTIL PROPERGATION.
Thank you gentlemen for sharing your stories which are so relatable to my own story..always been a yo-yo dieter..being 5ft 8in, I reached 210lbs my heaviest from poor eating habits and minimal exercise in 2020..now I’m 147lbs through 16-18 intermittent fasting and eating a low fat, whole food plant based diet..I’m also sustaining my weight loss..I go gym each week and try and walk each day 😊
Chuck in my region, simply ordering vegan from our restaurants in the midwest means full coconut oil, sugar and starch. Frying in vegetable oil and more, but all plant based.
This is the most relatable situation to my own though I'm much older and have less to lose. Dr. Barnard's 21 Day kickstart is what is working for me. Never feel hungry. Dr. Greger and the Esselstyns are my other gurus. I think everyone has to figure out what works best for them. I've found a new role model in Anthony Massiello.
Wow! Very inspiring! It is so true to replace what you did eat with what you eat now to lose the weight. The important thing for me is to stay full and have the food available at all times! It was an epiphany for me! Awesome success stories you two have!!
Anthony is amazing! I got to hear his story at VegStock in Tatamy, PA and he is the real deal! His case study is in Dr. Fuhrman’s book Eat To Live. This guy walks the plant based walk everyday and he can hook you up with a plant based doctor that can help put you on the path to plant based health and wellness. 😊
The ending really resonated with me- that some people will take longer than others to get healthier. I went WFPB Aug 1 of this year and I've had a lot of positive results, including weight loss and getting off a few meds. But I just got off the phone with my cardiologist who says my potassium levels are too high and I need to reduce those foods, including beans, leafy greens, tomatoes, among other foods. These are some of my favorites and its so frustrating when you think you're doing the right things, but taking three steps backwards. Thanks for your channel - it has made a world of difference in my life.
Tips for ordering Thai food from a Thai Restaurant Operator- specify soft tofu. Thai restaurants typically cube and deep fry the tofu because it's easier to cook with and maintain the presentation. The unfried tofu crumbles in the wok. You also need to specify no fish or oyster sauce and no sugar. (The prepped sauces for the restaurant have a lot of sugar. I helped my husband make several sauces last weekend. Wow was I shocked at the sugar content. ) I don't know why there was so much oil in your curry. It could be that the coconut milk they are using had filler oil, or they didn't mix it well so you had a lot more of the cream. Then if they added water (inflation on coconut milk is real) the coconut cream may have separated from the water. These are just guesses. We don't add oil or water to the curry, but we have received the wrong brand coconut Milk which did effect the curry. A good Thai restaurant should be able to accommodate you. My husband makes me great healthy food, which sometimes show up on the specials list.
That is more than I weigh. I have always been amazed at people that wait until they are morbidly obese before they decide to address the problem. I don't understand the concept because it doesn't happen overnight. I mean it happens slowly, but you don't notice it until you're so big you can't move. Just like losing it doesn't happen overnight. Better late than never and good for anyone that can accomplish this, but it is so much easier to never go there, and you don't need a doctor to tell you that you are killing yourself. I'm not trying to be mean. Good for you Anthony. This has helped me understand. Thank you
Hi Patrick! Thank you, and I understand and agree with what you are saying. It’s incredibly logical. Unfortunately, in the moment, the destructive behavior (eating in my case) is not logical. It’s impulsive, and likely comes from something deeper. I don’t know what that was for me, but I do know it took a very serious rock bottom moment for me to “wake up” to the point I was willing to do anything and everything I could to change the trajectory of my life. I’m incredibly grateful for that moment, the insight, and the strength that enabled me to change. That’s why I share my story now, with the hope that I can help someone else to light that spark inside themselves. I don’t think your comment was mean at all. I’m just sharing my own personal perspective, to the best that I can even understand it myself. Thanks again for listening, and all the best!! 🙏😊
@@anthonymasiello3 I refuse to be impulsive or compulsive. I come pretty close when it comes to exercise, but I control it. Happy you are well and on the mend. Good Luck.
Anthony do you no longer sauté your veggies? I love stir fry and I am thinking of making ut with home made veggie broth or water. Also your story is so inspiring! Would love to hear more details about the actual meals you eat
It is difficult to eat out and not get too much salt and oil. I have a Thai nearby place I can order the stir fry steamed with no sauce. Then it's perfect.
as a taller athlete in my youth, I was never obese but I regret growing up eating the garbage we did. I know I would have been a much better performing athlete on a Whole Food Plant Based Diet. I am 51 now, and I guarantee you if i put on my football gear now I would destroy that 24 year old me. Been Whole Food Plants for 20 years now and I feel frozen in time.
I would ay the bottom line isn't, "Yes, you can do it." Instead, it's not hard but amazing and delicious and Not at all restrictive. I"ve never been hungry or unsatisfied eating this way.
I've been watching a Thai cooking channel, and it's part of the curry cooking process to heat the coconut milk enough to separate out the oils and use that to toast the spices. I haven't been able to talk myself into making my own curries because I'm working to avoid that kind of saturated fat. Hey, if you put it in the fridge and can pull that layer of fat off the top, at least it's a lot healthier that way...
I wonder if anyone healed foot problems with plant based diets…I have heel spurs, planter facia & arthritis in both feet & can hardly walk after work & im only 40 years old 💔
Thai food…Ethiopian….Mediterranean… They can do it plant based, but it’s always drowned in oil. You can’t go out to eat. Every time, it’s a total and expensive disappointment and disaster.
Just went out with friends and lapsed for one supper. Had eggplant parmesan with light cheese. Came home, couldn't sleep because of the heartburn, diarrhea because of the fat. Never again.
It’s a conversation for sure, but I have a few places that treat me very well and have enabled me to maintain both my health and weight loss for 17 years now. 🙏
You cannot go wrong with a salad. Some of my family still eat animal products, so often our nights out I have to make the adjustments as far as finding food for me on the menu. Salad, plain is my go too. Steamed veggies, no oil, and also a go-to. I get to socialized n get another does of greens. Win win.

Are you drinking enough water? Your potassium levels can be elevated if you are dehydrated.

If I am not either physically active or mentally involved in work/entertainment, I can easily slip into overeating. I gotta keep busy.

The book "The Pleasure Trap" is my favorite take on this.
