as a bass fisherman that aspires to be a good gulf coast fisherman, i admire these videos. you do SUCH a good job explaining the science behind the gear in such an informative and non-condescending way. much better than the super viral bass channels do. they seem to be paid for their recommendations whereas you are recommending what you know is tried and true.
Capt. Johnson, thank you for explaining the science behind and the great tips behind the popping cork. Gonna pick one up tomorrow and see how it affects my fishing game, always wanted to try one out. Thanks again for all the tips from you and all the Salt Strong bois on deck.
Hi Mark, great video. I really like popping corks because it's got the action of fishing with a lure so your not falling asleep soaking baits or getting snagged on oysters and you can use live/cut baits or a wide variety of jigs and other lures.
Greetings to you, Your Honor is a wonderful and beautiful forum, and I am one of your followers, and I learned everything about fishing from a long time ago

I personally started using the Rio Vista Twista and Adjustable Babybopper from Burnside Bopper. I can quickly adjust my depth within seconds, without changing leader, with a slide of a hand. I can quickly swap from a vudu shrimp to a jig head due to changes in current and depth.
I'm sitting in the Airport in Japan headed home to JACKSONVILLE Fl! My brother says Kellie these reds are biting. Of course right after saying that, he's says cause you know I'm the master fisherman.🙄 So I decided to get some tips from my salt strong folks. Great edvice as always time to go to work. Thanks you guys your awesome. I'll let you know how it goes in a few days! Lol
Great video great video you will be on the TV before long I just want to know where can I get a fish flipper on a pop and cork like the one on your deck keep up the good work Fish Long fish hard maybe this November we can meet up and go to the hump

No matter what popping cork you use….if you use shrimp or pins they will tie around the popper . There is no way around it. Shrimp and pins will twirl around the braid or the stem of the popper.
Loved the video but honestly, I can assure you that in a controlled test, popping cork shape has no verifiable difference in terms of catch potential. At best, the result will be random. Therefore, buying a 10 dollar popping cork is dumb. A 1.79 popping cork will do that same job with the same efficiency.

Go Robert...hey, it's better sitting on the bucket than kicking the bucket!

Do you have a video for the "no name" knot?
I get 1 to 2 Seasons from those bendable wires vs 1 to 2 Trips with the ones that don't bend. They are hard to find though.
What is the best knot to tie braid to popping cork
Does anyone have any idea where to get that half round grommet on the bottom of some of the high end corks?
